  1. Seeing a new Super Metroid remix on the frontpage always catches my interest. That being said, I was expecting something more chilled and/or creepy than this aggressive arrangement. In a sense, I was let down. However, I respect the remix for what it is; a good, adrenaline-filled arrangement of Super Metroid. Good work, but not my thing; I'll just go back to listening to RTF's Brinstar Bonsai Garden.
  2. With all the ambient noise in the background, this almost sounds like something you'd hear on monotonik or kahvi. Which is a good thing. Just one technical thing; the bitrate of this song moves up slowly, so winamp cannot display the duration of the song properly. Nothing major, but it always annoys me when that happens.
  3. It's about time CoLD SToRAGE got some recognition, and an interview like this one is most likely much better suited for that than my plugging his website in the free music thread ages ago. I still listen to his music regulary, especially the wipEout and Krazy Ivan (hilarious, but overlooked game with a great soundtrack) tracks.
  4. Wonderful piece. The drums don't bother me that much, even when I'm listening to the song using headphones, but better samples would've been nice. Everything else is spot-on, though. Great solos, and an awesome vibe overall. Nice work, guys. Seconded
  5. The beginning doesn't hurt my ears, but it certainly doesn't do anything for me. Which is true for pretty much all of the first half, except for the breakdown from 1:00 on. Where this song really shines is from 1:58 on, when it becomes really fast, and the absolutely insane guitar playing following that (~2:53 is amazing). Also, I like what you did to the source and how you arranged it. Good job.
  6. Despite featuring only 2 instruments, this remix never feels empty or lacking. Very nice.
  7. More free DJ sets, this time DnB http://www.myspace.com/dj_woodrow
  8. This is my favourite Anso remix so far. The arrangement is quality stuff, just as usual, but this time, there's absolutely no instrument/synth/anything else that rubs me the wrong way as was the case with his previous remixes. Everything goes together incredibly well and creates a wonderfully goofy, fun song. The drums coming in at about 0:53 should sound a little meatier, though. Well done.
  9. Diggin' the style, but it's too short, and I have to agree on what is being said about the lack of a proper ending. Still, Mazedude delivers once more.
  10. I'm kinda torn on this one. While every single one of the parts is done very well, with the third one (starting at 2:38) being my favourite, they just don't gel that well. Every part is rather short, and the transitions aren't as fluid as I'd like them to be. Good song, but less would have been more.
  11. Nice, rocking arrangement that has "Castlevania" written all over it throughout the whole time. Great job at finding the pretty much perfect balance between the original and your own ideas.
  12. Epic is definitely the word that describes this remix best. This is going to sound cheesy as hell, but the song really has a feeling of an end which, at the same time, is a new beginning, with the whole world, full of opportunities and new adventures, opening up in front of the listener.
  13. A little repetitive, but a very nice tribute to one of the best soundtracks of the PSX era.
  14. 403 10chara
  15. BUMP FROM HELL http://www.myspace.com/djstuallan Dude has some of his internet-radio sets available for download on his myspace page. If you like Happy Hardcore, then check this out.
  16. Mister Stay-Puft and Survival Instinct never get old, even after all this time.
  17. Hmmm, yes, strong atmosphere and all, but somehow, it seems to me that this song is meandering. I don't hear any real climax; it just goes on. I guess that works if you look at it as some background piece for a movie, but as a stand-alone song, I think it would need more oomph at some point. But a well done remix nonetheless.
  18. Another OCRemix by Overcoat; didn't see that one coming. Not as minimalist as your (somewhat recent) original works, but that makes for a nice change. The lead is wonderful and somehow reminds me of 90s JRPGs. The atmosphere the song sets up is great. Well done.
  19. The first thing hinting at Pendulum as a source of inspiration is the very long intro; not exactly something I like, but it's okay. The bassline is great, as are the high-energy parts of the song; you really nailed the Pendulum style. Simply great. I felt that the surf guitar was a nice addition; its part is only short, but sweet. The one thing that really irks me is the breakdown from about 2:00 on; it's just too long. tl;dr version: more energy, less intro and breakdown.
  20. Exactly what I was thinking. So yeah, the volume is a little low, but that is pretty much my only complaint. The style of this song took me by surprise, seeing as how it isn't exactly heard very often at OCR. Best remix in a while. More please.
  21. Nice and calm piece that would work well as a village-song in some RPG, too. Love the plucked strings and the flute, and the piano is a nice addition. Glad to see McVaffe back, and while this remix is good, I do hope to hear more remixes similar to Makoto Jungle Jazz.
  22. The volume here is pretty low, so turning it up is a must if you want to hear everything that's going on. But if you do so, you're rewarded with a very nice, soothing, and all-around feel-good trance remix. As zircon said; it's not in your face, and in my opinion, that's a good thing. Well done.
  23. Well, this page says that they sold an average of 3400 tickets per game last season, which isn't too shabby considering that their capacity is 3500.
  24. Anso's got the groove. Very funky, sometimes oldskool sounding remix. I love the keyboard, and some of the stuff going on in the background adds a lot, too. My only complaint, and unfortunately something that drags this whole mix down for me, is the choice of the main synth. I find it to be a little too loud and piercing; less would've been more here IMO. Other than that, nice one. Keep'em coming.
