  1. Make sure your kids don't dash dance too much, they might trip.......... okay, I'm done.
  2. I believe it really depends too much on the user to say whether new controllers are too complicated or not. I say this because I've heard the xbox 360 controller praised as one of the most ergonomically designed controllers and I must admit when I use it, I feel very comfortable, but I have also been playing videogames for most of my life so I understand the correct way (in my opinion) to hold a controller. I believe that someone completely new to games would find an arcade joystick+buttons or a point-click device (mouse, wii-mote, etc.) simpler to use. I also agree with the point that a controller's interface is influenced by the complexity of the games it is designed to play. However, what makes games complex these days and why? Do we need to be able to have control over every minute detail of our in-game character's movements? I don't really think so.
  3. I second Anvil Studio (although it cannot print sheet music) Also, I remember a program called midinotate that well notates midi It had a shareware version I believe. Man, that was a while ago.
  4. In melee Peach's items are randomly picked from a set number of items (a few different turnips, mr. saturn, bomb-omb, and beam sword.) In that game she is not banned. In Brawl, to my knowledge, she can pull the same items. If she were able to pull any new items, I'm sure that this would only occur if those items were turned on in the first place. I've yet to pull anything except normal turnips thusfar in my (small) play-time with Brawl. And she hasn't been banned for anything in Brawl yet, so you can use her in tournaments in that game, too.
  5. So, apparently (as in I heard from someone else) there is an automatic save function in NG2 which records your gameplay for submission online. If this is true I can see a second coming of the Master Ninja contest which is always amazing to watch and I'm sure is much more fun to participate in. I'm extremely pumped for this game. I need to buy an Xbox 360 first, though.
  6. WWUUTT! GT at GDC? Definitely leak lots of stuff, or whatever you're allowed to tell us And yeah, Link actually sucks in SSB64 as I found out by playing Chillindude's Fox. Fox can still shine spike in smash 64 :[ I didn't know that until then. Also, Jiggs can l-cancel all of her arials into rest so getting hit = KO!
  7. Another great piece of music from Andrew. I love the mixture of electronic instruments and the more acoustic sounding strings... all over some phat beats, haha. I hope you enjoy your spoils. Especiallly, For his efforts, Andrew will receive .................................. a copy of the OverClocked ReMix fan album Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream. YEAH!
  8. I got to play Brawl yesterday. It was great in its own strange way. Those of you who've already played obviously know this. I think the change that freaked me out the most is that you can't really crouch cancel anymore, so I couldn't get downsmashes with Peach to work as easily as I used to. I love the color schemes on some of the characters, too. Like iced-out bowser, white haired ganon, and Peach in a red dress. So stylish.
  9. Haha, I remember when Arek was hating on the game's music. back in the old thread. Good times. And two days away from playing Brawl :]
  10. Sounds like someone's stompped on your head a few too many times, lol. Is that the Udon comic you're referring to? I've heard good things about that, but I've never read it before. I've never heard of the manga before in my life, either. How is that?
  11. Right, my point is that I find it funny that Azen instals them as a side job.
  12. Exuse my bad word choice, but I think you know what I meant, Darkesword. (Well, Coop did anyway.) I'd love to see Sagat remodelled. He's always had one of my favorite character models. Well, at least in the Alpha series. He's a little too anorexic in SF2-SSF2T. Actually, speaking of Alpha, this game should feature as many characters from that ark of the series as possible. It would make things a little less SF2- ish. If the developers are trying to follow some stupid storyline, they need to stop that right now. Street Fighter is not know for it's storyline, and few people care for that to change. Storyline is for RPGs
  13. Probably going to a Brawl Tourney at Tech on Saturday. If time permits and my friend has the internet set up, maybe we can set up an online match with one of you guys (Atma, GT, Arek, anyone else.) I hope everything goes well. I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY THIS GAME! PS. Funny story, Azen puts mod chips in people's wii's apparently. That's how my friend's Wii is going to be compatible with his japanese version of brawl.
  14. Well, seeing how the graphics are rendered in 3D (even if the gameplay is 2d) that means that capcom finally re-did the game sprites. So, that's one thing keeping it from being an "SF-2 rehash." Because as you all know, it's not a geniuine Capcom Street Fighter until we find out that they are re-using the same sprites from the orignial SF. I mean, damn, even SNK eventually realized that their old sprites form like KOF 95 or whatever looked butt-ugly and re-did that stuff.
  15. HEY! Don't talk shit about Capcom's flagship lady and resident whore-able character.
  16. Yeah, that performance made me actually want to watch the rest of the Grammys. I was like "Oh, snap Daft Punk!" Their suits and helmets were lighted and everything. It was quite awesome. I want Kanye West's glasses and those glow in the dark violins, too.
  17. I'm not sure what I think about all of these blur effects in SF4. Perhaps you all have noticed this too, but it seems like it occurs almost anytime an attack comes out. I guess I'll have to wait until I see this game in an arcade cabinet or something, but it seems like it would be short changing the character models for them to be blurred out half the time. I mean blur would be cool if it occured every now and then, but I hope they don't over do it. OOH and have you seen the picture of the cabinet? It looks quite sexy a la the Tekken 5 DR cabinets. Can't tell what the buttons and joystick are from the picture, but if I had to guess I'd say they'll have convex buttons and a ball-end stick. http://www.shoryuken.com/ (1st blog post)
  18. Damn it Bigfoot, I thought I had PIU all to myself and now you have to go and be better at it that than me. WHY?! Does PIU Zero have Emergency on it? That's one of my favorite songs to play on the local NX machine. I'd like to see someone play it on Crazy or Nightmare (or whatever it's called) Oh, and you should probably give PIU a try Gafagarion, especially if you're hardcore about ITG or DDR because it will humble you and then just become a lot of fun.
  19. I forget how I stumbled upon this, but Audio surf looks like some kind of interactive music visualization. My bad description of this game: You're a little space ship (it kind of looks like an A-wing) and you ride a track that is covered in colored squares that represent different parts of a song. It looks like you try to collect certain parts of the music track and not others (ie. bass or melody.) I haven't played this myself yet, but it's a game and it deals with music so it sounds like it's worth a try, and I'm sure some people in the community would like to give it a whirl too. so, without further ado...main site and
  20. This is pretty cool. I've never seen anything like it before. It kind of reminds me of those interactive table desktops, though.
  21. WUT, SONIC!?!?!? j/k UGhh, I really need to buy a wii, so I can buy this game. I guess I have until March After watching some more footage of this game, I'm really impressed with the flow of battles. Things seem just as fast as melee but much smoother (no missed L-cancelling anymore, I guess.) The graphics are amazing, of course. The thinig that suprised me, however, was the fact that the sound effects seem really powerful. I remember watching Marth fight and thinking the sound of his sword slashes really seemed to have some substance to them.
  22. Sweet, tourney fag vs. emofag in the fag match of the century. Only on nintendo wii. Record somehow plz.
  23. *clears throat* WWWWOOOOOOOTTTTTT! Those were the longest 30 seconds ever. edit: lol @ bahamut for sounding exactly like my father.
  24. Happy Birthday, Overcoat! Thank you for your threads of free-stuffs. Kind of late, I know, but my birthday wishes are sought after by many men, so you should be honored.
