  1. Hey, I like Avatar and Teen Titans . I agree that lots of American animation steals from the Japanese animation scene now, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. A lot of the anime I've seen lately has had amazing production values (Ghost in the Shell, Death Note, Afro Samurai, etc.) However, I like it much more when a cartoon has its own individual quirkiness and ideas rather than trying to imitate other shows. That said, Duck Tales and Swat Katz are still pretty good for how old they are.
  2. He's callin' you out son! ddr routine that makes "girls swoon at the very sight" of it. lol.
  3. Happy Birthday, Mazedude! May your artistic flair never waver. Cheers.
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCEsLHNT0Bc power glove needs to be somehow implemented into this game.
  5. I think you're taking the whole video recording thing out of context. It, like most of the other additions that everyone is salavting over in this game, is "something extra" or "something new to smash." If you compare SSB to other games, then of course it's going to come up short. Why can't we have 16 player lan games like in Halo? Why can't we record hour long, or at least ten minute long matches like in Halo? Why is the internet play mode so lackluster as compared to Halo, Gears ofWar, or (insert x-box game of choice)? Compared to Melee, these new additions are actually a step foward. That's why we should be comparing the next super smash bros. game to its predecesor, not Halo or some other game on an entirely different system with different hardware from a different company. Now, I'm not justifying the way Nintendo handles their internet or how they designed their system, but comparing different games to one another is often an exercise in futility. Especially when one of those games hasn't even dropped into stores yet.
  6. They can do whatever they want with the music, but they'd better not touch the track names. just saying "Urban Uppercut" makes me chuckle everytime. ASSONANCE TO THE EXTREME!
  7. Fire Emblem 8 or Breath of Fire 1 get my nods.
  8. That's cool, I guess. I'd rather the music be tweaked to fit the game than just a direct copy into the game. It sounds like everything in SSF2T:HD is being meticulously crafted and tweaked, so refining some of the remixed soundtracks makes sense.
  9. I bet DXY is easy for you because of your uncanny "hit two pads with one foot" ability. I like the middle section of the song when there's that continuous little stream interspersed with jumps.
  10. I believe the guy being interviewed said that there would be a normal and remixed soundtrack, so you should be able to choose. I may have heard wrong, though. And "I don't fight boys" is like my favorite song so STFU!
  11. Even those songs are still upbeat if you listen to the lyrics. Whether or not you think it was executed well is another story.
  12. Interstella made me a very sad panda. The space ship janitor deserved better than that. Oh, and most of the Sonic Adventure 1&2 theme songs are ridiculously happy. Take Tails for instance.
  13. I agree, Third strke's art direction was amazing (well it still is, but you know what I mean.) This trailer kind of reminds me of that other Capcom game about the wolf that was all paint-y. Can't think of the name right now. Oh, and there better be some Muay-Thai repping in this game. That was the biggest dissapointment for me in third strike. Not neccessarily a lack of Sagat, but the absence of someone to carry the lineage of his fighting style.
  14. I didn't know you were a photographer. Good stuff. I already have all your public addresses obviously.
  15. Sounds like ya'll need moar Ninja Gaiden. Seriously though, I think NG is an excellent example of a challenging and engaging game. At first, it seems too hard, but the more you play, the more you see AI patterns and how to abuse them (similar to fighting games, I suppose,) but the thing that differentiates Ninja Gaiden is that every time you change the difficulty, the game essentially changes. Sure the levels you go through are laid out the same way, but the AI works together more effectively and new enemies and bosses appear. Things get stacked so much against you that by the time you get to Master Ninja difficulty, you wonder why you ever thought that normal mode was difficult. In short, the game makes you learn and adapt to an intelligently designed difficulty curve. Another great idea that NG: Black impliments is the mission system. Here you can essenially practice against any boss or group of enimies in the game. At first it seems like the missions are just there to get grades on and perhaps unlock new content for completing them, but in reallity, the missions are the best way to improve in the game because they set you up in situations that you will encounter in each difficulty of the game, so through trial and error (and gamefaqs) you can figure out how to beat just about everything. The game balances this aid by having you defeat enemies in a marathon session during actual game play (as in the campaign mode.) So it becomes a matter of knowing what to do, executing your strategies, and conserving items. Finally, the point system in the game takes into account all of this in a very fair way (Again, this is similar to the scoring of a fighting game where consecutive hits and number of wins are counted.) Oh, and the graphix are awesome, lolz!
  16. ^ Great info Kyosuki. I've been wondering how good certain characters were going to be, namely Ike and Fox. I'm sure when the game comes out though, clever people will think of new ways to make different characters competitive. (Bowser is going to be top tier, lol.)
  17. Great article! Makes me hungry for some fish soup.
  18. Hey, do you ever go to Chillindude's bi-weeklies? Just curious because I know he hosts them up in Blacksburg. And any single player mode in Very Hard is for masochists. I think the computer has it's damage ratio on 2-1 or something.
  19. Bonne anniversaire a toi, Douli! Merci pour m'aider faire les "sigs" et les autres choses que je n'y pense pas maintenant. And thanks for trying to decipher my bad French!
  20. Now, now, I'm sure he's not the first person who's thought of this. I don't belive Pac-Man is the most likely Namco character to be included, but I'm certainly not going to rule his appearance out of the game.
  21. I say, as long as it's here by Christmas time, it's fine. What would be best is if they timed up the release of the game with an influx of unit wii shipments to retailers (so, you know I could play the game on my own wii,) but I don't see either of those things happening. And, Taucer, I agree that the developers should have some flexibility on their release date, but they should be accountable for having the game out in a reasonable amount of time (I'm hoping this quarter, but it better not end up pulling a Twilight Princess.)
  22. Well the shit's hit the fan now. After this update I can't really count anyone out of the Brawl line-up. Who's next- Ryu Hyabusa?
  23. That reminds me of this one episode of my Yu-Gi-Oh manga where Yugi goes to the arcade and beats this guy who is turtling the shit out of people and then that guy stands up over his machine, sees who defeated him, and proceeds to beat little Yugi up. And it is a proven fact that if I lived anywhere near a decent arcade, I would degenerate into a broke hobo. The one time I visited the arcade at the Springfield mall with my friend I blew a good $30 and I would have no doubt spent more if my friend hadn't drug me out of the place. The aracde I went to had a Tekken 5 machine, and I must say it is a thing of beauty; It had an lcd or plasma screen on both sides as well as surround sound and two joypads on both sides of the booth.
