  1. ^ That's a great place to start. Anyone of those games could keep you busy for a long while. And like Atmuh said, DDR is good. I suggest Extreme 2 or 1. If they do not come with pads, I reccomend buying an Afterburner. Should last you a while. Now if you're into FPSes, then 007: Agent Under Fire and Time Splitters 2 are both oldies but goodies. Oh crap, make sure to pick up SSX 3 as well. That's a great game And the manditory list of fighting games you SHOULD buy: 1. SF:AC 2. SFA Anthology 3. Tekken Tag (already mentioned) 4. Capcom vs. SNK 2 5. KOF XI 6. VF 4: Evolution (already mentioned) 7. SC II/III (I like 2 more, but whatever.) 8. Tekken 5 9. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (that's all I can think of at the moment.)
  2. Broken (A-ryu) vs. Kamoh (X-Ken) 2-0 Good matches. You were the first person I can recall who uses v-ism aside from myself. Good to see a little variety every now and then.

Saw the movie last night. If all the GREATEST MOVIE EVAR sutff is sarcastic, then yes, I'd agree. The movie obviously wasn't perfect (I compared it to Gladiator,) but it was good for some laughs and some very well choreographed (spelling) battle scenes. All the nudity in the beginning was kind of silly, but whatever, I knew it was coming. Actually my favorite scenes aren't the battle scenes, but the quiet time in between when the spartans are talking and the conversations between the king and Xerxes. (When he first appears, he seems decidedly metro or homosexual. And the first few things he said didn't help to change my opinion of him.) Oh, and the film makers did an excellent job capturing the graphic novel feel.
  4. Broken (A-Ryu) vs. Necrotic (A-Ryu/A-ken) 2-0 I like your play-style. I'm glad I gave you some practice against Ryus.
  5. Broken (A-Ryu) vs. Sega (A-Ken) 2-0. Good times Sega. Look foward to playing you in the future (btw, we played more than two matches. More like ten or twelve. And I unveiled GIEF!!!)
  6. I haven't been around for too long, but it's very exciting to see the leaps and bounds that this site is making. I offer a sincere thanks for all the work that you've put into this place. P.S. The Arcade Tourney thread salutes you!
  7. Broken (A-Ryu) vs Culturekoi (A-Guy) (A Guy, get it.) 2-0 Good matches. Got my blood boiling a little bit. It seems that the Guy tutorial I found helped somebody.
  8. Broken (A-ryu) vs Atmu (A-Ken) 2-0 Broken (A-ryu) vs dPalladin (X-ken) 2-0 Good matches both of you.
  9. Broken (Ryu) vs. Hemophiliac (Ken) 2-1 Very close match. Again decided by fate, aka lag. Edit: A word of advice. Away messages are your best friend while playing. Make sure you put something up to deter other people from bothering you during your matches. (so that was little more than one word, sue me.)
  10. *makes gleefull noises* I'll try and get onto Kawaks tonight. If not, tomorrow is definite. Edit: Oh, nice bracket, Kamoh.
  11. Thanks for the feedback guys. My ego is easily damaged, so thanks for being relatively soft with me. I definitely would welcome any help on the production side of things next time around, or in between, or whenever anyone's available. But yeah, I'd have to agree with a lot of what you all said.
  12. Alright guys, now's the time to ask DJP if he'll pretty please join the tournament b/c that would be epic and stuff. And Liontamer, just to see what would happen. (See if all that wrestling stuff matters in a REALL FIGHT!! With THUMBS!) Edit: well, more fingers...less thumbs
  13. Is today really the last day for sign-ups? Not that it matters because I'm ready to play. And if we end up being in need of extra competitors, I strongly suggest against asking just some random guy off Kaillera. Why, you might ask? Because some of those guys are sick.
  14. ^ Yah, this was an excellent experience for myself. It definitely revealed my weaknesses and I know what to work on next time around. Congrats to Hale-Bopp and Dragon Avenger. You both had excellent entries. (Didn't realize we only had 8 people voting though. This compo is in dire neeed of attention.)
  15. Sounds good to me, Malcos. I'm excited to see the results.
  16. Lol @ lag. It is the metaphysical manifestation of God's indignation at us mortals who dare to have fun playing old games online. Or maybe it's just imperfect information transfer. I like the first explanation better.
  17. Hmmm, thanks for the feedback guys. I'm sure that would work, but unfortunately I lack administrative privileges on this laptop, darn it. Oh, well maybe it will magically fix itself just as it magically screwed itself up.
  18. My streaming media. Whenever I click on a link, whereas it used to stream through Windows Media Player 10 (and not give me any trouble), now for some reason whenver I try to stream something it loads a Quicktime application (which takes much longer.) Now I tried going into Q-time's MIME settings (or whatever) and turning off all its file associations, so it wouldn't play things such as MP3's and the like, and I clicked apply, but the next time I went to listen to something, it would yet again play in Q-time. I'd check the mime settings and file associations again, and it would have reselected everything that I unselected earlier. This is driving me insane (b/c I'm too lazy to cut and paste urls) so any help would be appreciated.
  19. Oh, so the whole problem was just a factored polynomial basically? And the two factors end up being (sinA^2 + cosA^2) and (sinA^2 + cosA^2) or 1X1. Did I understand that correctly?
  20. Will someone help me with this Trig. identity, please? cos(A)/\4 + 2cos(A)/\2 sin(A)/\2 + sin(A)/\4. and to clarify, that's cosine A to the 4th plus two times cosine A squared times sine A squared plus sine A to the 4th. The furthest I could get on this was to re-arrange the expression so that it was: cosA/\4 + sinA/\4 + 2cosA/\2 sinA/\2 And then apply the pythag. identity to the terms cosA/\4 + SinA/\4, making that expression equal to 1. So, then I had: 1 + 2cosA/\2 sinA/\2. Am I going about this the right way? If anyone could help me out, that would be excellent.
  21. Alright, I've never double posted before, but I feel this thread's dire need of attention is worth me risking my my livelihood over. So, UBER-BUMP!!!/UPDATE!!!! I found a few instructional videos on the web recently. The problem is none of them are made specifically for SFA:3. However, I have tested out most of the techniques discussed in said videos and can say that they almost all carry over from SSFII:Turbo (the demo game) to SFA:3. Now, without further ado, the link In other news, we need to get some practice matches going on. I'll be on the servers tonight (I have multiple emus, so if you'd rather play on Mame as opposed to kawaks, that can be arranged.)
  22. Now, maybe I was smoking something when I read this, but I believe the Texas tournament has free entry for all games, and that would be reason enough for me to go if I were that close by. You'll want to check the website to make sure, but how awesome would that be? Hmm, I'll invest $0 in this tournament in hopes of winning 1'000s. I'd enter some random game that I have no skill in (i.e. SF2: Turbo) and be like....YOU READY FOR THE PAIN TRAIN??? (and then be quickly double-eliminated....or not?)
  23. My 'geif is utter crap right now, especially in "turbo-2-speed-world" where 270s must be fast as crap and Chun-li and Ken rape.... Everyone. Edit: Oh, Arek, you need to update your first post w/the names of the new entrants; like Sega for example.
  24. Happy B-day Pixie! Be safe during your night out.
  25. Hey, not sure if this applies to anyone, but I found an excellent Guy tutorial on youtube today. I hope I can find something for Zangief later. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceb2jTDD0Hk
