  1. Just voted. I know it'a already been said, but every entry was unique and quite well done. It was more difficult to decide my votes than it may seem, and I hope my feedback is useful to you all when you read it. P.S. I need a real microphone, BADLY.
  2. I'll have my entry in in about twenty minutes. I hope you all enjoy it.
  3. The next Chun-li player I find, I will shoot on sight. Stupid over-heads..... And I'm still pulling for a "most SPD's in a match" contest.
  4. Time for a new siggy banner. I suggest one w/ corny SFA3 announcer quips. "Go For Broke!" "Ain't there somebody who can beat this fighting machine?" Or just a cool picture. That works too. Oh, and P.S. that finals match was sabotaged by my lagginess. Darn it.
  5. Alright, here's the deal. Horse-Boy is sick aparently, and I haven't heard from Sega in a whiles, so I was just going to wait for them, but.... I WAS trying to contact Eazy P the other day on Kawaks (you were on some random Texas server, right?). I'm all in for a grand final w/ whomever, but if you guys just want to move on, that's fine too. We were all going to pick SFA3 anyway...... Except Seg3ta, he was pulling for SFA2 and actually, I want to play WakuWaku7 but not really.
  6. Another great one frome GaMeBox. I really like the laid back style of this track. The sound effects are nice and lend a certain nostalgic element to the song. The drums are kind of loud, but I either forgave that or just stopped minding after the second or third play-through. This is a very nice track, and pretty well mastered. I just wish it maybe had another element, like a solo or another key change or something. There just isn't one section that stands out for me. The song just kind of ends on me, and I'm suddenly left groove-less,
  7. I'm glad I'm not the only person that remembers how to sing those songs. Let's take a dive...in aquatic mine. Once was a coal pit, but now it's a water ride!!! woooweee
  8. Welcome to all newcomers! It seems like people are joining in droves now-a-days, which is a great thing. I hope you all enjoy yourselves. Don't feel pressured to contribute anything immediatley, just post in threads that interest you and you feel you can add to. Just steer clear of unmo....oh, never mind.
  9. I'm afraid not, comrade. I mean if by some stroke of luck I'm anywhere near any of the events, then I'll make an effort to attend, but I can't travell very far at all right now.
  10. A friend of mine goes there currently and enjoys it. I can't tell you anything about housing, but the gaming scene is quite big in that area (at least in SSBM, that much I'm sure.)
  11. And will you people PLEASE stop arguing about how smash is supposed to be played. It's a moot point because none of us really know what the programmers had in mind when they put all of these options in. (My best guess is they wanted the game to be very open-ended.) If you don't play the game the way the competitive community does, then great, really, I'm just glad people are still playing the game; Items or no items, it's still fun, but if you want to argue whether or not the no items/stage specific/best 3 of 5 game type is a good judge of skill, then argue your point on Smashboards.com. That site is full of LOTS of other people who play the game and have their own opinions on this stuff. Posting about it here really isn't going to acomplish much. All this meaningless discussion has completely drifted from what I was posting in (and re-bumping) this for in the first place; Smash is at EVO. And that's a good thing IMO.
  12. I agree. And after you beat him, you should have asked him if he was still having fun. (second sentence created to fulfill the char. limit.)
  13. I'm still trying to get in contact with The Almighty Tallest. Have you gotten your emulation problems fixed yet?
  14. I guess I'm weird, but I'd honestly rather watch Melee tourneys on TV than a football game. I mean its a lot easier for me to go watch a football game in real life than to make it to most tourneys anyway (but it looks like I'll be stuck watching Halo again for a whie....Oh, well.) And quite honestly, fighting games NEED more positive publicity. It's no secret that the 2D fighter is a dying species. I mean don't get me wrong, I love the underground feel of melee and its community, but where I live underground= no one else within an hour's travel plays the game.
  15. Great news Melee fans! SSBM has been introduced to the EVO 2k7 line-up. This means that the fighting game community has finally acknowledged Melee as a worthy competitive fighter. (or the commitee was drunk when they did the line-up this year) I'm so pumped about this, btw.
  16. Wow, this is a really great track Malcos. And from a beloved game soundtrack (at least to me) to boot. I think that I'll try my hand at this compo. *hopes that he will not regret decision later*
  17. ^ Project Justice and Rival Schools were awesome. There's just something deeply enjoyable about busting heads with baseball bats, volleyballs, and akido sticks. Yeah, that was a pretty well done SF-esque game done in 3-d.
  18. Just being at EVO doesn't make a game good or deep. Dead or Alive 4 was introduced into the game line-up for the same reason that Mario Kart DS was; to reach a little more into the main stream. Now I'm not going to compare fighting games on merits because frankly I don't know enough about each individual game they choose to host, but I wil say that things change. And for your information SCII was part of EVO's line-up only a few years ago, so that game can't be that broken (so please don't bash an entire series just because SC3.1 is broken beyond repair.) Now about SF 4.....3D would be cool, but like others have said the fighting game scene is very saturated with competent contenders already. Now of course there will always be people who try to argue why one game or another is unbalanced or whatever, but the fact of the matter is, if you want to be good and you enjoy a game, you'll adapt to the environment. I mean it just seems to be asking to much of Capcomt to come out with a new SF that's just going to knock our socks off, AND revive arcades in America, AND sell well on consoles, AND be popular in Japan. And if it can't acomplish at least a couple of those goals, then it will just be mediocre in my eyes at best. Better to just make sure the SF movie doesn't suck.
  19. So, is Jun Senoue still directing/ producing the music for these games? The Sonic Heroes OST was pretty boring if I remeber correctly, and SA1 and 2 were a mixed bag. (I haven't played the past couple of new Sonics and don't have any inclination to do so anytime soon, so I can't comment on those.) I just remember reading Jun Senoue's name in the credits for Soncic 3 a long time ago and thinking "hey, he made all those songs, cool."
  20. 3-0 Broken vs. Atmuh. 3-0 Broken vs. Horse Boy. You're pretty good, man. We'll have to play again sometime
  21. Broken vs. Keegan The Fox 3-0 We'll definitely have to play again sometime, man. You gotta show me your MOTW skills. And for those of you having trouble w/ netplay. Put your zoom window to 100%, see if it turns on. Thats what I do when mine isn't working.
  22. Alright guys, I had a lot of crap to do this week, but as of now, I'm ready to play. I'll be on AIM for most of today. I'll PM you guys soon w/ contact info.
  23. Excellent song choice. Man, that brings back (good) memories.
  24. I think the winner chooses the next game. So WHEN I WIN, I'm CHOOSING SFA3 AND FORCING DJP TO PLAY!!!! lol j/k. Except the part about forcing DJP to play.
