League of Legends: I finally updated the player list in the OP!
OceansAndrew replied to Garian's topic in General Discussion
As a newer player who has played for maybe 25 hours total, I am strongly in favor of Bleck's argument that effectively managing the complexity of the game is a benefit to it as a whole. I haven't even seen half the champions in action, either on my team, or elsewhere, let alone additional rogue builds. There are over 100 choices already, and for those that have been playing since release, that's cool, but if the game is to survive and keep people playing, there needs to be a complexity cap. Old-timers DO burn out, and the game needs a constant flux of new players to keep the game making money. Without a specific, designed level of complexity, that cycles out old when adding new content, it's basically only going to make the barrier to entry that much more intimidating and difficult to achieve. Riot seems to employ some pretty smart people, so I am pretty sure they know where they want the different levels of complexity to be for each group of players. **Unrelated aside** About 5 years ago, the makers of Magic the Gathering had realized their complexity creep had spiraled out-of-control, and created a guideline of how much specific complexity they would introduce at once. The hardest of the hardcore were terrified the game would be ruined, but the more defined identities of colors and streamlined rules text increased the tournament playing Magic population has quadrupled since. More players for them means more money into the game, which in turn is better for the players. -

I'll get things back on track!! I mentioned this to the crew the night we played, but I think it's important enough to merit message board discussion. I love the playstyle and skillset of Blitzcrank, but the fact that it's the robot from chrono trigger and not a totted-out hunny makes it a dealbreaker for me to ever want to play. GG RIOT HUNNYS OP. -
Solforge for PC and iPad - sweet FTP lane-based card game
OceansAndrew replied to OceansAndrew's topic in General Discussion
hex looks good too, and I stand by my stetement that the game is sweet, it just needs to get the server stuff cleared up. I'm patient. -
I have a sortof downtempo Waterworld remix that has been accepted and just needs to be posted. I agree the soundtrack to this game is great!

in one month? Did you stop eating altogether? That is super sad though, heal up fast and maybe go at a more patient pace. I've switched to volume training for the next few months, since I like to change up my routine every 3-4 months. It's only a few weeks in, but I am having fun, and seeing good results. the basic premise of it is 10x10 at 60% 1RM for the main lifts (incline bench, chin-up, dips, squats, leg curls), and 3x10 for the other stuff. Requires a lot more sleep than normal, about 9hrs a night, and a lot more food, but I'm up 4lb and down .1% bf, so at least some of that has got to be muscle. I'd hope around 1lb muscle and 3lb water. -
Solforge for PC and iPad - sweet FTP lane-based card game

Doesn't play at all like magic though. I'd say magic is the superior game (IMO), but it's had 20 years to get to this point, and Solforge is going for a totally different angle. If you aren't just trolling, I could lay out the differences but im not really sure that's the case. -

it's funny becaus e you've been raging about this for months, but now are living the good life in silver -
http://solforgegame.com/ I've been on the beta for this and absolutely love the game. It's sortof like a CCG in that you get new cards via boosters, but it's lane based and is really fun. There is a lot of strategy to it, and 4 different factions all play a bit differently. I think you get a small booster everyday for signing on, and then after you get 3 wins in online randoms. Or you could buy boosters too, but that makes it cost money. You can build your own decks that combine factions, and though some of the gameplay is a little slow right now because their servers and being absolutely hammered, games can be over in a few minutes. My username is Oceansandrew, though unless you are ready for a world of hurt, you probably don't want to challenge me. My deck is a creation of pure dominance, and you will have to be an absolute master to beat me.

:-( dude, that is brutal. I guess the bright side is that it was just a gash instead of a cracked kneecap or something, but still. I hope you heal up fast and then get back to it! -
We played this a bit over the Otakon weekend; 4 player madness with DJP flailing wildly was entertaining. Shariq was very patient with everyone who basically had no idea what was going on the entire time (seemingly on purpose). Overall it was pretty cool, definitely hope this style of beat-em-up stays alive, it's pretty fun.

How is everyone doing on their goals? Hopefully getting all kiinds of gainz~ Got to be a guest at Stevo's pretty nice gym (three squat racks, plus a specific OHP rack? Luxury), and Dragonavenger and I did some squats, dips, and chins. It is a little bit jarring to workout in a new gym, but we made good progress. I am super proud of Deia's lifting skills, she is able to squat and deadlift over her bodyweight, and do a legit pullup or two. Thanks to Stevo for letting us tag along while he swam, and props to the gym for deciding not to charge us either!
