  1. Shouldn't you focus more on your tunes than your badges people?

  3. Congrats man. Wow that 3D image is so great, I could never tell where was my daughter on the 2d black/white pics. Dude, you are going to be a-maze-d' dude because it's amazing.
  4. Yes and it's amazing. Axe FX 2. Get it. Oh and don't judge any gear review by a YouTube video.
  5. Much better than the shitty solos that ranked 1st 2nd and 3rd in the list. I do not comprehend.
  6. I'm glad I'm in the Zero bracket, songs from the first X games. At first, I thought we'd be versus the Blue bracket and those are all unknown themes to me. Can't wait to know what I'll have to mix with but hey, this is gonna be fun. I don't care who wins/loses but I'm interested in what you'll all come up with.
  7. Hey that's exactly what I was thinking the other day. I'm not a real musician, I'm an artist.
  8. I don't think so. Does turning off the reverb on an amp make it sound lower ?
  9. School is insane here too, + my job + my familly. Bring it on, there's no excuse.
  10. I thinkthey keep producing the low end but less precise, and the maximum low while accurate would be 38Hz. A0 is 27.5 Hz on a 88-notes piano, and you can still hear it on any monitor..
  11. Lol you don't need a giga-powerful computer at all. I don't struggle making tunes and I only have a dual-core 3.1GHz with 4gigs of ram (that's a joke compared to the other computers these days.. it's 6 years old..) 300 gig is plenty for music. It's actually not much at all but you should be able to manage it.. you can even backup online. I do have a good DAW and a great audio interface tho.. that helps. But all you really need is an audio interface and a DAW. You already have that but your audio interface is shit for mics, especially a condenser mic.. you should take a look at the audioboxusb (presonus). edit: yeah don't expect to reproduce a John Williams tune with a big VST orchestra tho)
  12. I don't think limiting yourself is the key to your wonders.
  13. If you make a "studio tune" and don't intent to perform it live, I don't think there's any rule... There's no limit. If you use some tricks to fulfill the idea you had, no matter what you do the results have a good chance to become interesting. If you compose for a live show tho, that's an other story. You must be able to play them integral or you're gonna end up looking like Dragoonfail. Why fake live when you can do less and have a better impact ? It's like Britney Spears when she "sings" live.
  14. Well I was more thinking about a volume automation. For instance, I made some hip-hop beat the other day and while the compression helped for sure, I fine-tuned some bass notes with a volume automation to have them sit perfectly with the whole context. About your EQ, well the way I do it is to first set a very narrow Q and sweep it around to find the sweetspot. You do it with a narrow EQ and sweep it around and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Then proceed to a cut at that frequency and enlarge the Q to its more logical extent (your ears are the judge).
  15. When filters/EQ and comp are set, there's a little thingy left called automation. It's amazing, try it out.
  16. Well I took the small Opeth artwork to show which album I covered a song from but didn't for Zelda yet got the notice anyway.
  17. I created a YouTube account and uploaded a few videos and a few covers. 3 songs got a copyright notice (Zelda (guitar cover) and 2 Opeth covers). I didn't compose the music but recorded 100% of it. So what happens if I accept the notice (The "x" theme is managed by X-company"... do you accept or not" ? It's a fucking cover, what do they want.
  18. You could head for a little yamaha rbk170 it's 199$ where I work so in the States you'd probably get a better deal. lol 4front bass
