How very very sad Awesome rock music on that for anyone who isn't familiar with it. S.S.H. has some nasty rock remixes from GG, sucks they don't submit to OCR.
-
im pretty sure Fusion2004's is gonna be electronic correct me if I'm wrong.
-
Its just Guilty Gear. You know, the first one. Not Guilty Gear X, X2, X2 Realoded or IsukaOh, and justice is a her First GG game I played was X. Never played the original. Haha never knew Justice was a girl.
-
We got some great WIPs so far. Keep it up dudes. Also Foxhull when ur busy week is over update the Small Two of Pieces track. Taucer is gonna be laying down some guitar for it. And don't get any ideas people, this track ain't an acoustic guitar remix.
-

1. Mana Beast - Secret of Mana 2. Dhaos - Tales of Phantasia 3. Justice - Guilty Gear (forget which GG game he is the boss of, but his theme is completely kick ass)
-

Fusion I think it would be fine, but I don't have the final say on it. Just gotta wait till rpggamer180 signs back on and decides. Nice vibe Fishy, def like where your goin with it.

Here are a few that I thought would sound awesome on an acoustic guitar. 'Shattering of the Dream Egg' (Lost...Broken Shards is very similar) http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sony/ps1/dreamegg.mid 'Singing into the Gentle Wind' http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sony/ps1/Xenosoftwind.mid Here is one that is more upbeat. 'Knight of Fire' http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sony/ps1/xenoboss.mid Wow I can't believe I skipped over this one. It's a beautiful song, you might might be able to do something really creative with this one. 'Shebat: The Wind is Calling' http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sony/ps1/shevat_V1.0.2.mid

Ah double posting goodness. Well this is to avoid anymore source tune catastrophes. Got a PM from Blue Magic(better known as Diversified Bonds now fyi) he is claiming 'Light from the Netherworlds' and the 'The One Who is Torn Apart.' He'll be using both them to make one quacktastic song. I def like the concept he is goin for on this, the source tune fits it perfectly.

Sweetness. I was surprised no one had taken that source yet.

FRUITY LOOPS 101 - PLEASE direct -ALL- FL questions here
avaris replied to starla's topic in Music Composition & Production
1. Have a blank pattern set to a different tempo. And put that pattern in the song where you want the tempo to change. Also you can right click on where you change the tempo and create an automation clip. This automation clip controls what the tempo throughout the entire song. 2. Go to your piano roll and select channel volume. There you can control what the volume is at any time. So simply fade the volume out at the end. 3. Open up the channel settings on your midi out. Click the pull down menu that says "Midi Out" and go to presets. Select one. Then go to the pull down menu right below it and whammo you got tons of things you can export midi in. -
"Well know you know, and knowing is half the battle" -GI JOE Gotta Love GI Joe. Sweet welcome aboard Fishy. Another announcement too... Vampire Hunter Dan and his orchestral goodness is now onboard. He will be doin one massive opus containing at least 3 if not 4 of these source tunes: Stars of Tears, Emotions, Wings, and Ship of Regret and Sleep! Sorry ladies and gents those songs are now taken. ... Oh damn, that's not nice. I PM'ed rpggamer180 about Ship of Regret and Sleep over 3 hours ago. And I started a WIP and everything. Oh wow this sucks. Bad timing all around. I sent VHD a pm yesterday inviting him to join. I got a PM from VHD at 4:20 today saying he wanted in. Fusion, wat style are you doin the song in? Can you send me the WIP maybe? If the two mixes are gonna be completely different I don't think it would be a problem letting both of you use the source tune. I mean VHD is including 2-3 other songs in his anyways, and his is most likely gonna be straight up orchestral. Obviously rpggamer180 would have the final say on this. My two cents is that if they are different it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Tetris Attack - Bowser Stage and Panic Mode (EQ update)
avaris replied to tweex's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Gave it a quick listen this is def solid. That shakugachi flute sample haha, I've always wanted to use that exact sample myself just haven't found a song to use in yet. Arrangement and composition are excellent. EQ: As the song progresses the lack of anything substantial in the high frequency ranges leaves me with a feeling of lack of variation in the soundscape. There is just so much coming at you from the lower frequencies in the first half of the song the "sound" itself starts to feel monatonous(my spelling sucks) The arrangement isn't monatonous. The piano at times feels a little dry, or just that their could be something more to it. Maybe just a few EQ adjustments. Like around 1:13 and 1:32 and on for example. Just try to produce a higher quality sound. It's nothing really bad, just something that bugged me a lil bit, nuttin major at all. The EQ and piano things are uber picky, I'm assuming ur wanting some real tough critiqueing though. Def sweet drums and ethnic feel. -
FF4 - Theme of Love JAZZ BALLAD. (complete?)
avaris replied to SSB's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Yes I love FF4, totally biased. Good style to remix the source in. So far it's pretty solid. One thing to keep in mind is dynamics. The melodies seem to have the same dynamics throughout. Vary em up for some good old variation. Also to get a more intimate feel outta this lower the velocity on some of those leads. Make them seem a little softer sounding. Also increase the dynamic range in the melodies that will def give the song a more intimate tone. -

what I do when I get alot of comp slowdown due to all the plugins/effects etc... I seperate the project file into 2-3 files. One file only contained the leads/harmonies. Another containing rythms and bass. Then when I'm done I just rip the two into wav format, then load them back into fl studio as two wav file then rip the complete mp3. By doin it this way I can still listen to what I am working on real time.
-
Sweet dude. Ok now on to me ripping this apart. I agree with Roe, more drums please. The space is there to fill this up with all kinds of crazy rythms all the place. You can def get this grooving even more. Some of ur sounds in the middle section aren't coming through the soundscape like they should. :40 - 1:00, that synth coming through feels too muddy. Just mess around with the EQ or layer in something with higher frequencies. Transitions. OK kudos on keeping things fresh, but some of ur transitions towards the later part of the mix can feel a little dull and rushed. I know ur filling up the higher frequency bands, but i'd love to hear this mix contain more sounds that have natural frequency bands in the upper range. You could def have a breakout rythm/glitch session in this that would kick some serious ass. This is def sweet, just in time for the new james bond movie.

Official Mastering and Production thread
avaris replied to sephfire's topic in Music Composition & Production
Wats up guys while searching the web I came across this website with lots of useful info on music. It's examples are used with fl studio, reason, and ableton live. I just skimmed over it, but my impression is that it def has some good info that covers all the basics of doin electronic music. Talks about theory, mastering, production, melodies, harmonies, rythms, basslines. If someone feels like their missing some of the basics in their music you might wanna check it out. http://www.modcam.com/emusic/ -
I think this is pretty awesome. The big thing I'd say to put in here is some semblance of a melody. If this just had a slow moving interchanging melody floating throughout the song, I'd think we'd have ourselves a keeper. Def pretty sweet. Maybe if u wanted to turn this into a remix, just find a song with a haunting melody and throw over top of this. If ur interested I'll try to dig up a melody for you, I think it would def work.

"Track Switch", Experimentive new tune
avaris replied to RoeTaKa's topic in Post Your Original Music!
I like the middle part of the song the best. There is more to it, and it just mor engaging. I think the combo style is half way working. It def has it's moments of sonic goodness. This might be my personal preference but some more sound in the low end frequencies, or at least more variation in that range could really be a nice addition to this. Also maybe an area with a defined melody cutting through the soundscape would be nice. Besides that shiznite, all the sounds in this are friggin crazy, production values are high, and well to do something like this even halfway right is an accomplsihment.
