  1. Damn you just can't stay outta the request forums can you Maybe it's just people being considerate?
  2. We are for damn sure still taking on artists. Yeah just upload some of your stuff and we'll check it out. Did you ever finish ur Earthworm Jim song? We are still looking for a few mixers who do jazz, orchestral, anything with an organic/natural sound hit us up. We gotta keep the number of songs on both discs balanced to a 60/40 or 40/60 ratio. So if ur interested hit us up, there are plenty of quality source tunes left. Actually this whole damn OST is quality, almost every single song. It will be really hard for anyone not to find a source tune they could cover. If you need some help picking out a tune let me know.
  3. Damn vgmusic.com the midi's are always named different. Yeah it's "flight" and it def is an epic piece. For any other electronic artists out there lookin for good source tunes to use. 'One Who Bares Fangs at God' or 'Light from the Netherworld' are some wicked nice source tunes for anything electronic. If you want them they are available.
  4. This mix is absolutely amazing. I have been listening to it off and on for months and it never gets old. I wish Oceanfire did some more tunes as his stuff is excellent. To do his style of music well is insanely hard and involves using strong melodies and very high production values. Not many are capable of pulling it off. Strictly this is friggin epic, I love it.
  5. Wow can't believe I missed this one. This really brings me back to FFVII. Excellente. This has got me even more excited about the FFVII proj. Def one Mr. Cox's best. Tons of emotion and variation, this piece really hits you from all angles and keeps things fresh.
  6. If you download the demo version of fruity loops, you can export your songs in midi format I believe. So what you can do is finish all of your arrangeing by exporting and importing your midi file whenever you wanna work it, and then once ur finished hand it over to someone to put some good instruments over it and the mastering and production. Also when u import the midi to work on you can just put some basic instruments over it just to see how everything sounds together, and then when ur done working on it for the day just replace the instruments with midi and then export it as a midi file. If you just concentrate on the mixing, composing, and arrangeing ur goin to be better off and have a much better chance to succeed.
  7. Haha mega mix. mlo think of those crazy 15-20 min tracks DJ's put together of a bunch of popular songs. Well apply that same theory to all of our remixes. Someone could use ableton live to do it. Thats all I'm gonna say about it. Oh yeah got another update for you guys, please go check it out. I need some comments on it, wats good wats bad...anything. Oh yeah as far as having the judges judge each song. It's a good idea in theory. In reality it means thing are gonna take awhile. Look at this way, first submission 1.5-3 months for feedback. If it's rejected thats about .5-1 a month to fix it. Then that's antoher 1.5-3 months to get feedback again. So we're are lookin at 3.5 - 7 months for that by itself. And that on to whenever the very last mix is finished. It's a great idea but it'll be time consuming. I'm down for it if we're gonna do it.
  8. I think a good example of a song that has mainly orchestral elements with some very tasteful and well used electronic sounds is the main theme to Lost Odyssey (i know i spelled that wrong) by none other than Mr. Nobou. I believe Mist Walker's homepage or Nobou's has a link to the long. If not you can always watch the trailer for the game.
  9. I sent a PM to rpggamer180 (Foxhull). Now just gotta wait on the final decision. Why aren't u on OCR yet? You got some crazy stuff dude, def perfect for the Gears disc.
  10. ...damn, so much for a part time job in college. Keep it up guys, the show's awesome. The remix reviews are always a personal highlight for me.
  11. Yeah we're def still lookin, just send us some examples. Flight as a western song, does OCR even have any western songs? That'd be sick. I already know we got some songs coming off of this project that are gonna be pretty unique so if anyone was down for trying a western style song that'd be crazy.
  12. Haha, well i got an update. Only one change in the arrangement whahahaha But I did a crap load of work on mastering, def a big improvement on that area from my old stuff. Oh yeah the guitar is friggin awesome now that i got off my lazy ass and used guitar rig 2 for some added ooomph. I'll get it up in the forums within the hour.
  13. Hey Anchorman Ron Burgandy played flute too, and he was one cool cat. Aight guys I'm gonna get an update on my mix pretty soon. Nothing major, but i've been listening to evanescence and godsmack recently bc I've been doin a massive amount of programming and am really pissed off, so I thought now would be a good time to work on my Lufia track.
  14. This is sooo fresh. Refreshing to hear. Hmm, listening...if i was a judge what would i think hmmm...damn good. Great job of variation adding new but similar sounds all over the place. Does need an ending though. Other than thah I'm finding it hard to pick stuff out at all. I have shitty speakers no clipping at all, everything sounds clear. The last section from 3:55 that new lead instrument is good. But I think maybe the other leads that come in at 4:15 could come in sooner. 4:05 to 4:15 seems like something else should be there. I'm just being uber picky take it for what its worth. Excellent work dudes!
  15. Uh I really don't have a style. I mean I have guitar, synths, rock percussion, orchestral elements!? GSRPO? haha, well it's high energy. Our sig should be all the bosses beating up a lunch lady, or taking marios lunch haha.
  16. I was enjoying some nice coffee and saw that there was a new mix, and with the sun shining and my nice cup'o java and this song, my morning is made. I love simple emotive pieces like this, reminds me of Vig's MGS mix being the solo guitars. Michael and Reuben Kee should get together and do a piano/guitar mix omg... This is plain awesome, I can't say enough about the performance, excellente. Pixietricks got my hopes up with all of her ranting and raving, and damnit she was right. I def hope to hear more from Michael.
  17. ok, the harpischord could be used in the section at 1:50 maybe...I am not sure. The only thing about the harpischord is that it's an instrument that cannot be played very loud at all. So realism vs Creativity, which one do you want to go for. But it does sound nice, and I like it. Getting off of that I totally agree with TO's 2nd paragraph. Honestly I think this could have been easily accepted 2 years ago. I think alot of the strings need to be thickened. Also, you could add some brass or some woodwinds with the violin, to give the lead sound some variation. For the lead for the slower section at 1:51, you should prob use just brass and woodwinds for the lead. And then at 2:18 come back in with the lead violin accompanied by the brass and woodwinds you were using for the lead in the section that started at 1:51. Wow that was a lot, I think if you take the ideas from the 3rd paragraph it will def up the feel of this mix. In terms of getting a more quality sound, James Geogre's thread has a link to a word file on EQ'ing that Pseudodragon posted. Pseudodragon might be a good person to ask for some specific advice on EQ'ing for orchestral. Dat Dragon can really get some lush sounds. If not I can use my VSL samples from Kontakt 2. If you can get me a midi file of this song, and tell me what parts you want me to use my samples on I'll do it for you.
  18. Phantasy Philharmonic: A Cinematic Adaptation. ? alliterations are always great, of course PP doesn't flow nearly as well CS Lets just stay away from abbreviations for now. (if i didn't say someone else would) Phantasy Philharmonic: A Star is Born (prob way too cheesy and hollywood)
  19. It can't hurt being in general for a week. There is a lot more activity in general than in the WIP forums, so I think it'd be best to to at least spend some time in both so we can reach a wider audience.
  20. Haha you've had like 8 different ideas for that mix haha. Why don't you do the unthinkable and combine elements of all em.
  21. Yeah wtf Strike, Zelda needs more electronic music!
  22. You incorrectly corrected my name! haha omg, it's not funny but it is at the same time. "Jormungand"
  23. hola senor, by the way what did u have for lunch today..no seriously
  24. ...beautiful Personally I always enjoy reading all the negativity every day when I come home from class or work. Reforged, I checked my email and my PM box but I haven't gotten anything yet. Of course ur the same R3FORGED with the crazy tetris track. That took me a lil while to track down. Guess u slightly changed ur name. With ur Tetris mix your pretty much in. Just have to wait rpggamer180 now to give you the full go. Omen is a pretty nasty source tune, I almost picked it when I first signed up. I was hoping this was gonna be done in a trance/electronic style. Of course if u got something else in mind that's cool. Your high production values should really make this one bad ace. This project is starting to have a strong trance/electronic music influence which is sweet.
