  1. New Dragon Quest IX screenshots (or compilation of 4 screenshots into one) on IGN. What do you know, it looks just like you'd think . In unrelated news, my copy of Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales, which has been on backorder at bestbuy.com for a while, finally shipped. Now only another week before I get it lol.
  2. You were saying before it was pretty cool right?
  3. Ahh, the good ol' days of Red and Blue...Master Ball x99 .
  4. One of my roommates, after playing through Zelda, got somewhat tired of the motion controls too (at least, those which could be just as well handled by a button press...so for him, Trauma Center still retained its freshness). I'm still enjoying the motion controls and don't see myself getting tired of them anytime soon, but I can see how might wear thin for some. So yeah, that Metroid Prime 3...lookin' forward to that. I'd really like it if we got one of those big titles by early July at the latest (and at this point, I don't really even care if its Mario Galaxy, Prime 3, or SSBB), since I'll be done with school by then and I'll have at least a little more time for games.
  5. lol, I'll believe it when I see it man. Five years is a substantial time period (let alone ten), and I'd doubt it if the PS3 hasn't aged greatly by then. Anyway, it's not just how powerful it might be that will determine its viability in the future, but also the market. If any of these consoles were to remain on the market for much more than five years, I'd be impressed. Not trying to take jabs at the PS3 or Sony, but I'd be worried for them if they really bought into their own "10 year" line.
  6. Yeah, out of the list, there are 9 I'm getting for sure. Then, I dunno about Forever Blue, I won't be getting Wii Health Pack (I work out more than enough as is), and the rest are all maybe.
  7. Nintendo Announces 2007 Lineup. Discuss.
  8. [quote name=''[\()/];265988']There is something' date=' not quite sure what, in the WRT54GS's firmware that makes it drop every once in a while. I ended up changing the firmware to DDWRT, though you run the risk of bricking your router if you do this. [url']http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/ddwrt.php
  9. lol, especially how Sony was originally boasting the PS3 would be viable for 10 yrs.
  10. Speaking of routers, I have a question which I posted here and I'm hoping someone might be able to help me (or, if haven't had any trouble with your router and it works well with Nintendo Wifi maybe you could post which you have in there). If anyone could help me diagnose the cause of the problem I'm having/has any tips on setting up the router/knows of any good routers to use I'd really appreciate it!
  11. Hey, so I need some help in regard to a wireless router problem I've been having. I had this problem with my Netgear WGR614v4, my Linksys WRT54G, and the router I'm currently using (basically a newer version of the WRT54G that's supposed to have better range or whatever). Basically, it works for a time (sometimes a few days, maybe a week, and in the worst cases sometimes only a couple hrs) then the connection dies. When I hook a computer up directly to the cable modem it works just fine. Anyway, it didn't seem to make a difference when I set up the computers/DS/Wii to static IPs. Is anyone familiar with this kind of problem? Does anyone know a good way to fix it, or can perhaps give me something that I should try? Did I just luck out and get three crappy routers? As an aside, I had set up a new Netgear router at my parents' house several months ago and that one doesn't seem to have this trouble. Should I just get a new router? The reason I got the router originally was so I could get my DS online. Now that I'm sharing an apartment with a couple other guys, I need to be able to share the internet that way. Still, if anyone knows of a router that they would stronly recommend that they don't have this kind of problem with, I'd like to hear it...especially if they use it to take their DS/Wii online. For better reference, here is a list of routers Nintendo has tried out and rated for use with Nintendo Wifi Connection for the DS, though I understand that this list isn't complete and there are other routers that work just fine. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
  12. lol. That comment reminds me how much I'd like it if they put Mega Man (any of them) onto the VC. Personally, I never got around to buying the Mega Man or Mega Man X Collections from the last generation, so I'd enjoy having those games available via VC eventually. Also, yay for the original Castlevania being on VC...gonna be getting that later. Still waiting for Metroid and Super Metroid. Also, while not likely at all at this point, I'd love to see Metroid II: Return of Samus on the VC one of these days...I'd especially love it if were to be "Zero Mission-ized" and thrown onto the VC. Only Metroid game I never even played. EDIT: Every week IGN showcases several Miis created to look like tv show characters, so it makes me wonder if there will be some sort of similar component to the Mii Popularity Channel. Anyway, I'll be interested to see how it turns out.
  13. Sounds quite nice...beautifully arranged, and full-sounding when the drums and all come in towards the middle. The only real problem I have with it is that it's pretty short; seems like it's just over a minute or something. I have a feeling the judges would have a problem with the length (I'm sure you're already aware and whatnot). Anyway, I think you're on the right track to a great remix. Best of luck!!
  14. I'd really like to see Fire Emblem, out of those mentioned. I think any in the series would be cool to be remixed (though I'm only familiar with two of them: Path of Radiance and Sacred Stones), especially considering we only have one FE remix on the site currently.
  15. Isn't Monolith also the developer for Disaster: Day of Crisis? EDIT: also, the points system for Mario Strikers sounds like a design.
  16. So I never played FFXII, but it sounds pretty interesting that they made FFXII Revenant Wings into an RTS.
  17. Oh. Hell. Yeah. Another instant classic as far as I'm concerned. I found the choice in sampling to be pretty unique, and ended up coming together in a fantastic way. Really great job!!
  18. News for Dragon Quest IX. Apparently it's going back to turn-based instead of the battle system announced previously. It now no longer features random battles, rather you are able to see the enemy on-screen ala Chrono Trigger or Tales of Symphonia. Also, the addition of character customization makes sense for this game. Finally, the cooperative play sounds intriguing.
  19. Paper Mario for Gamecube, Tales of Symphonia, Final Fantasy 10...
  20. *As of today (April 24, 2007) the remixer with the highest number of posted mixes on OCR is David Lloyd, aka djpretzel, at 67 mixes. The number two spot goes to Mike Vafeas, aka McVaffe, at 44 mixes and at third is Christopher Lee Getman, aka Mazeduke, at 35. *On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are four remixers listed who are shown to not have posted a mix on OCR. These are Goolancer, vapor_trails, Am.FM.GM, and Atomic Skull. ^Anyone know how this happened? Did they perhaps work on projects or originally had a mix on OCR but then got taken down?
  21. Damn, mine was delivered today...but still won't be able to play it cuz I was dumb when I ordered it and sent it to my parents' house by mistake. Gonna go pick it up in a couple weeks. Oh well, no time to play it just yet anyhow. Skipped the last series of Pokemon, so I'm looking forward to it just that much more.
  22. Yeah, I doubt it'll have much of an effect on gun control laws, but we'll see. My aikido sensei was speaking with another student earlier about this tragedy, and was theorizing this sort of thing might be easier to avoid in the future, saying it has been projected that not too far off up to 3/4 of the (at least male) population will have seen active duty and expects that more people will be likely to stand up. He, like several of the students he trains, did his time in the service and has seen live combat, so he understands that while the average civilian may not be up to it people who have seen active duty become densenitized so the aprehension doesn't keep him/her from doing what he/she feels needs to be done. I'm not really going anywhere with this, and while it's most certainly easier said than done, but the whole of my adult life I've personally resolved to intervene. The few times I've deemed it necessary, I've been successful in defusing potentially dangerous/violent situations (I'm pretty intimidating, I've been told) but I've not needed to go into an already dangerous/violent situation. Anyway, I train so I don't have to use it (those who understand that need no further explanation). Well, at any rate, while I know that these situations will inevitably happen, I sincerely hope and pray that it can somehow be avoided or resolved more quickly in the future. I also just recently learned a friend of a friend transferred there this year for engineering...haven't heard whether he is among the casualties or not.
  23. Plus, the classic controller is really nice. I'd recommend it over just using the Gamecube controller.
