  1. lol. For my thoughts on this, I'll refer to my comments here. Basically, I think it could be good and I'll be watching for what they come up with .
  2. I can understand that, since I'm not one who usually enjoys sports games. It gives me a little hope that Miyamoto will be involved in the project. It's not a guarantee the game won't be shit, but you could say that about anything. Anyway, people should stop over-reacting IMO...it's not like this is "TEH WORST NEWS EVAR!!!!111" seeing as how we have nothing to go on at this point - no gameplay specifics, screenshots, videos, or whatnot that will show what the game is made of. All I'm saying is wait to make up your mind about something after you have all the facts, cuz maybe, just maybe, it'll turn out to be good.
  3. So $80 over the premium system, for HDMI and a 120 gb hd. Doesn't sound like a bad deal. Nice that it's not a limited run either.
  4. I did miss that...but honestly, kinda confused why you'd make an April Fool's joke before April 1st. I mean, sure you'd fool more people, but then isn't it just a practical joke?
  5. So Ninja Gaiden for the DS announced today.
  6. Yeah, given that there isn't an official announcement yet I'm not gonna get my hopes up. If it does come to fruition, I'd be all over it.
  7. Agreed. Sounds like it could be good - and seeing as how we haven't been given anything but the announcement I'm going to hold my judgement. Btw IGN is covering this too...that and the fact that it's not April 1st yet leads me to believe this is not an April Fool's joke.
  8. Yeah I'm hoping a couple friends will be able to take a couple hrs off in the afternoon, just to be sure they'll get there in time. Anyway, it'll be pretty cool to go there...haven't been to Chop Suey since they were originally gonna have MF Doom (which ended up getting postponed a few months but was already sold out).
  9. Sweeeet. Gonna talk with some people about that tonight. Sucks it's not just a little later in the evening though, got some friends who work in Redmond and others near Seatac so hopefully traffic won't kill them at that time of day to get there (though I guess you know a little about that, coming from Bellevue and all ...frickin' 520).
  10. What day is that? I know several people who'd be interested. "HIS AXE IS ON FIRE SHOOT HIM IN THE HEAD! SHOOT HIM IN THE HEAAAAAAAAAAD"
  11. I'm not offended that you dislike anime, I just see it as an odd blanket statement. I study film, so I may well have a different perspective on visual arts as you, but I've enjoyed every Studio Ghibli film I've seen (each is quite literally a great piece of art, in my humble opinion) and these films are clumped into the same category as the more generic, unoriginal Japanese animation by the broader term "anime." What I'm saying is often times worthy works are written off by "anime haters," and the opposite can be said for "anime lovers" (just assuming some generic show is great because it's "anime omg!!!!!11"); I think both cases are unfortunate because they are both cases of people having such strong predetermined opinions about something. Many "anime haters" I've known have often come to that notion that "anime sux" because they simply don't care for the people who devoutly love anime. Anyway, I find it unfortunate for someone to stop themselves from appreciating anything from a certain medium because of stereotypes or implications it carries with it. My final thought on it is "anime," just as much as any other worthy storytelling medium, carries with it its own benefits and pitfalls, and there isn't any one piece that is representative of what that medium has to offer. Anyway, like I said, you're welcome to your opinions; it doesn't affect me what you think or believe, so how could it offend me?
  12. Sweet. Mako is Splinter right? Couldn't think of a better role for him to play in that film. Gonna miss that guy...Avatar definitely won't be the same without him . Anyway, I'll probably see this in a week or 2...kinda excited for it, looks fun (if I wasn't busy last Sat, I would have tried going to see the advance screening).
  13. lol, so are you annoyed at Roy and Marth being in the game? Their character designs, by your definition, are sure as hell "anime." Hell, I could argue so is Mario or pretty much any other character in Smash Bros already. Point is, the term "anime" is a damn broad one. If you're just saying you don't want JRPG characters in it, then I'd suggest saying that instead of using a term that doesn't apply itself well to the opinion you're trying to state (then again, maybe you like Smash Bros but hate the character designs, which is valid I guess...to each his own). Anyway, you're welcome to your opinions, but I'd suggest a clearer way to say it. EDIT: Cool. I always kinda wanted to play those games, but never really got around to them. Thinkin' I'll get Animal Crossing for Wii whenever that comes out.
  14. lol, nothin' wrong with wishing, Mr. Wii rumor guy . Btw, not familiar with a Mr. Resetti; what game?
  15. If Square-Enix and Nintendo work out some IP sharing for Smash Bros, a slime would be a cool addition in whatever capacity, especially given the recent Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime game for DS. Anyway, my wiishlist (sorry, had to say it) of added characters would probably be: -Crono -Capt. Olimar -A metroid as an item -Titania, Ike, Soren, any Laguz, or any one cool character from Fire Emblem: Path of Raiance (Sothe is supposed to be pretty hardcore in the new one, so I guess he wouldn't be a bad choice). -A character from Advance Wars, especially from Dual Strike (dunno who, since there doesn't seem to be that one, particularly iconic character) -Elebits as an item -A Chocobo as an item -Maybe either Simon Belmont from Castlevania or Jonathon or...whatever the girl's name is from Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. Having Capt. Olimar seems somewhat possible, same with maybe a FE:PoR character, but I doubt the rest of my list (fun to dream though).
  16. lol, yeah. From what we've seen so far, that seems pretty accurate. Who knows though, might actually end up being good .
  17. At this point, as much as I'd like to see a new channel for March, I dunno if we well. In unrelated news, EA is coming out with a new rhythm game for Wii called Boogie. I'm somewht intrigued to see how the control scheme works, and how wiimote usage will vary from DDR Wii's usage of it (which, in case people didn't hear, is supposed to use both a DDR pad plugged into the GC port and Wiimote/nunchuk at the same time in at least one of the modes).

Personally, I enjoyed it more than Gladiator (mainly because, well, I thought Gladiator was just so-so). Anyway, yeah choreography was fairly decent, but the editing along with it really made the sequences fun (ironically, these sequences made me think of the later battles in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, after you acquire the last ability). lol, yeah, Xerxes. Well, the fact he had trannies in his...entourage didn't really help that appearance. All in all, a fun movie. Good action, decent plot, not a bad ending IMO. Not the best film ever made, but it's a worthy diversion. Can't say as I enjoyed it more than Sin City, but I definitely enjoyed it (and I'm looking forward to more work to come from Frank Miller).
  19. It's the new Fire Emblem game for Wii. May not sound too familiar cuz it's not out here yet (in fact, no release date has been issued here yet as far as I know but I'm hoping for it to come out by summer).
  20. Nice, I'd like to know how it is. I'm really hoping Sothe isn't such a panzey in this one. Also kinda curious if they added more FMVs to this than PoR.
  21. Hmm, I've seen it around here quite a bit. At one Bestbuy I've seen it at, they had it in a little security cage instead of actually on the shelf and it was in a glass shelf behind the counter at one Gamestop. But yeah, like everyone has said, it's basically just a tech demo and is unfortunate they made it in a way that it has very little replay value (bought it for a friend, we played it once, and proceeded to stick it on the shelf since playing it once felt like enough [or just sounded unappealing to play again]). Then again, it's just $10 - nothing to lose sleep over . Anyway, just throwin' my thoughts on it out there.
  22. I agree, I got that back when it came out and loved it. If they make a sequel, I'd be all over it. I think a lot of people probably thought it was too "weird" a concept (platformer controlled with bongos) and shied away from it, which is too bad for them IMO.
  23. That's divergent to what I've heard from friends who are game testers...then again they're loc testers, so that could be the difference (though those positions can still be quite tedious apparantly...being bilingual is the best way to secure a job like that). Also, I've only heard of one time that any of my tester friends had gotten a free game out of a contract (you have to be a full-timer to get free stuff usually, from what they said) and they didn't receive it till after the game hit retail anyway. Different companies have different policies, but I wouldn't get your hopes up about that. Plus, personally I'd need to get more than 10-15/hr if they expect me to commute every day across the 520 (better off where I am now in pretty much every way). Anyway, G_D, MGS:TS is awesome . Since I hadn't played MGS on the original Playstation, it was a pretty awesome way to get introduced to the franchise.
  24. lol, yeah vibrant is a good word for it (here's a link to the kotaku article for those who wanna see it btw). Personally, I don't mind if a game looks kiddy as long as it's fun and whatnot but I guess we'll see once more news comes of it.
