  1. Wow... you were right lol. Looks like auto-tune specifically for reason. That is FREAKING AWESOME. It looks much better as well
  2. Looks interesting. I like it I think. If anything it doesn't make me like it any less? Hmm.. the next pic looks more like arrows pointing to something...
  3. I use reason + record rewired in to Ableton Live. I like it XD
  4. yeah definitely. lol it kinda sounded like I was putting it down for doing that XD but no I really love it.
  5. I dont think your talking about this game: http://server-admin.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/motas/home/ but this game is freaking awesome none the less
  6. Man I love the music for this game (though its all based on the same motif). I plan on remixing it one day but I'm far too busy for like a year... so after that one day maybe
  7. Well, seeing as I screwed my attempt up I come bearing gifts. Here are the gifs and sprite sheets that Chumble Spuzz made for my version of the game. If you ask him, I'm sure he would be down for doing the rest (I have no idea of how busy he is, but I would bet that if he had some free time he would love to get back on this project). http://www.djsbx.com/Zips/TanSprites.zip Enjoy
  8. Turning out really nice. Definitely works for house. And Loving the stereo effects and such Great stuff, cant wait till its done.
  9. Another attempt at ocr-tan game eh . Oh I really hope this time it happens.. these projects keep dieing out p.s. sorry guys. I wish I could have gotten mine done, but life just got to busy, as seems to be the norm
  10. Artist: Gorillaz remixed by DJ SymBiotiX Title: Feel Good Inc. (Ephemeral Mix) Time: 6:48 Status: Finished Bitrate: 320 kbps Genre: UK Hardcore Alright, so I finished this tonight, and I was able to mix it down on my headphones. I'll probably go back and remix it on my monitors in a few days (if it has any big problems) This is my first UK Hardcore track that I've done by myself, so let me know what you think. Thanks http://soundcloud.com/djsymbi/gorillaz-feel-good-inc-ephemeral-mix
  11. VERSION 3: http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/?fid=739 Alright so, I changed a bunch. Still not mixed/mastered and whatnot. Some drums are different, the beginning is different, and the breakdown got a bunch of stuff added to it. I'm not sure what to do after the breakdown. There is some stuff there.. but I dont know What do you guys think?
  12. Yeah definitely thanks again guys. The plan is to do something more with the breakdown, add some other melody in there, and do some drum stuff perhaps. (did you notice that the arpy thing in the breakdown was just a rearrangement of the intro to the theme? ... quite liberal though XD) I'll try to mess with the bass melody some more next time I work on it as well. Also the fill back into the main stuff after the breakdown was never finished. Thats why its so abrupt, I didn't quite know what to do at the time. Hopefully I'll have *some* time to work on this. Exams + end of term assignments/projects are creeping up on me hardcore.
  13. Here is also a 5 band version. LOL I think this is the end to my crazy multi band compressor obsession for now XD Download: http://www.djsbx.com/Files/5BandX-Compressor.cmb Again, the EQ's are there for visual purposes, and again dont let the crossovers cross eachother (low < lo-mid < hi-mid < hi)
  14. ahh ok yeah. All that stuff comes in later (I have a weird order in making music ) Right now its really all about getting ideas down. Sound tweaking comes in later. Also, when you guys say bland bass, do you mean the melody or the sound itself?
  15. I just want to add a few more comments. Ive used both Reason and FL. Like other people have said, everybody has their preferences. Like I personally cant stand FL's interface because it feels cluttered to me (like how reason seems cluttered to Blue Magic), and I also don't like the loop based nature of FL, I like to see my track in a linear form rather than a loop based form. Also, again the combination of Record and Reason is literally seamless. As far as I understand it, Propellerheads keeps Reason and Record strictly proprietary (no VST's allowed) because of how the software is built. Propellerheads prides themselves on how extremely CPU efficient Reason/Record is, and trust me, it is AMAZINGLY CPU efficient compared to FL. Eventually, yes I will admit I missed being able to use VST's, so I opted out for the compromise. I use Ableton Live as my main DAW and rewire record/reason in to it so I have the best of both worlds. Like everybody has been saying, is really all about preference. I have seem some amazingly professional stuff come out of FL and from Reason. Its all about how you use it and what suits you.
  16. All I really want to add here is that these 2 programs integrate better than anything could ever possibly integrate. If you have them both installed on your computer, you only open Record, and you have EVERYTHING from record and reason. So all the reason synths+effects, records sweet layout and mixer, etc etc. The integration is completely amazing.
  17. you dont like the kick?... ... man I made that out of like 9 other kick drums.. I thought it was pimp ass Also, none of this was mixed yet, so there is lots of volume/freq issues right now. I'm going to try to continue this soon. Thanks for the comments.
  18. Alright, so after taking some advice and stuff, I've decided to make a simpler less CPU intensive combinator that can be used in many places (since it isn't a massive beast ) I present my 3 Band Crossover Compressor. (3 Band X-Compressor) Rotary 1 Controls the low crossover point, and Rotary 2 Controls the high crossover point. This way, you can define for yourself at what frequency points Low/Mid/High gets chopped off at. I have also included an EQ specifically for Visualization purposes. Its not 100% accurate, but it will give you a very decent representation of where your low/mid/high crossover points are. Crossover points can go from 100 Hz up to 6000Hz (6KHz) *******DO NOT SET THE LOW CROSSOVER POINT ABOVE THE HIGH ONE OR VICE VERSA!! It just wont split the frequencies properly if you do so******* Here is an image: Here is the combinator: http://www.djsbx.com/Files/3BandX-Compressor.cmb Enjoy
  19. So for no reason I decided to make an 18 band compressor for reason/record. Here is a picture of what it looks like (its a link because it is VERY long): http://www.djsbx.com/Files/MBCompressor18.png Here is a link to the Combinator patch: http://www.djsbx.com/Files/Multi-Band-Compressor-18.cmb I made this primarily for throwing into the mastering chain. If you need very fine Multi Band Compression, this can probably help you. Bands are separated as such: (X = Bottom Bound, Y = Upper Bound) Low: X - 100 Hz 100 Hz - 134 Hz 124 Hz - 173 Hz 173 Hz - 272 Hz 272 Hz - 375 Hz Mid: 375 Hz - 455 Hz 455 Hz - 535 Hz 535 Hz - 649 Hz 648 Hz - 787 Hz 787 Hz - 955 Hz 955 Hz - 1.16 KHz 1.16 KHz - 1.36 KHz 1.36 KHz - 1.88 KHz 1.88 KHz - 2.28 KHz High: 2.28 KHz - 3.05 KHz 3.05 KHz - 4.49 KHz 4.49 KHz - 6 KHz 6 KHz - Y There is also an extra compressor and maximizer at the end of the signal chain, for overall tweaking. Enjoy
  20. Alright here is the deal. Ive started work on an album (2 actually). I really want to feature a bunch of people on it (which is what I did with my old album). I'm basically looking for some people to make remixes (whatever style, as long as I end up liking it ... no dubstep XD) of any of my original songs. So here is a torrent with all my original songs in it http://www.djsbx.com/Torrent/DJSymBiotiXRemixPack.torrent So a few things to note here. I'm not releasing these albums until September 2010, so there is lots of time, but I'm trying to get some of this stuff done early (so I can also be motivated). Also, these will most likely be free albums, so I wont be able to pay anybody. This is really just a way to get your name around through me, and so I can have some full albums full of awesome remixes. Another thing. Most of the stuff you will encounter in this pack is somewhat different (I think). A lot of my original stuff is somewhat experimental in nature. Most of it borrows from trance, and other common electronica genres. Also, about half of the songs in there are extremely poor in mixing/mastering as they were made about 3 + years ago, so you'll have to excuse that. I'm really only putting them in there for melody sake. Anyways, enjoy, and hopefully I'll get a few remixes out of this place XD. Edit: Here are some links to the album info Act II: Black - http://www.djsbx.com/blog/?page_id=54 Act II: White - http://www.djsbx.com/blog/?page_id=51 I also forgot to put this song in the torrent. This is also elligible to be remixed (though there are already 2 )Darker stuff will go on the black cd, and lighter/mellow stuff will go on the white cd.
  21. Version 2: http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/?fid=718 I changed up the structure *so its longer and doesnt switch so quickly*. Also changed up the drums a bit and added some layering. What chu think?

Let me know what you think (im just trying to get some ideas down. Also what should I call it?
