Magic lol but seriously I have alot of different methods. When I'm randomly listening to songs, sometimes I will just add some stuff in my head and be all like "Oh man! This could be a cool remix", and depending on what I added thats usually where I start. sometimes I'll start with a drum beat and see how it fits the source, or sometimes I'll start with my own rendition of the source and build up from there. There is really no proper way to start, if you feel something, you just gotta do it. Dont remix for the sake of remixing. Like, dont just pick some random song and be like "I'm gonna remix this", because if you dont really feel it, then most of the time you'll get bored because you dont know what you wanna do, or you get stuck, etc. If you really like a song, and can imagine some sort of remix for it, just do it. Thats my 2 cents

umm.... a midi cable is a midi cable... I very very highly doubt there are ANY that will say they are compatable with anything... its just wires....

verilog is basically a language used for synthesizing circuits. I used it to program an FPGA with is basically a chip with millions of gates. So the code essentially gets turned into gates somehow. Its pretty crazy. You should check out my vid for my project if you havent already. "and why not something like "sample rate, number of channels, start of data, etc.." and then the data." Actually thats exactly what it is... not sure what you read... :S A wav file (a basic one anyways) is just a header and then the data. Header,Sample 1(LeftChan,RightChan),Sample 2(LeftChan,RightChan)....Sample n(LeftChan,RightChan) thats pretty much it. they arent too bad. I was researching the file format just because. I could probably explain it to you some time. I never used matlab I just got to program in verilog.... uhh yay? lol

heh, thanks guys. I try. The reason its slow is because we made it to be played in a trance set that is around 133 BPM. Heh.. the vocals we got were pretty bad, but I polished them up best I could. This was my first time working with vocals :3, next time will be better As for the snare.... I liked it

Update: So I ended up buying my own FPGA so I could continue this project yay! Also, I got an A in the course

boot the ps2 without a game, and go to the options. There should be some video options and then some options with component cables. I believe there are 2 options within there, and the currently selected one is the wrong one. Switch it and it should work. I had the same problem and that fixed it.

so much of the original sounds??? I sampled like 3 effects. 2 of them are swooshes and 1 of them is a hihat or something that plays once.... everything else I made myself. Also I would reduce the quality to meet the guidelines if I were to submit it. The high quality is just for people to listen to right now. Also, there are ALOT of people who have remixed songs and samples from the original source, sampling a 1.5 second sample is legal. From what I understand if you sample less than 30 seconds of the original song, its perfectly fine. Thanks for the comment though

I downloaded it but when I try to install its all "You must have windows xp service pack 2 or better to install this" and I have service pack 3 :S I dont get whats wrong

So, a little while ago (2/3 months I cant remember), A friend shot me a PM telling me that somebody he knew from another forum was making an x-box live game and he wanted music contributors. I ended up sending the creator an e-mail and I started up on a song. My contribution is a trance song (a little faster than usual) and I think it turned out really great (I have also been getting some good feedback about it ) Anyways, I am now going to pimp this game out. (unfortunately I dont have an x-box so I cant play it at the moment, but I will soon ). The game looks really really fun, and I encourage anybody who likes puzzles and music to get this as it is only 200 Points.
