  1. Feeling down with something too. Bit upset couldn't get anything in this round. There was some good picks...
  2. Yeah. I've been silent on this issue until now, but I really want the signatures back. Doesn't feel right like this. And the self-promotion threads/subsections at OCR and on the Discord (actually can't speak for Discord since I rarely use OCR discord, but I'm gonna take a gander and say: not much better :D). Maybe we should do a poll....
  3. I enjoyed it mostly. I think you mentioned a while back that there was some pitch bending issues with the software you're using. I noticed that manifest at what, the 6 minute mark or so?? Could be wrong. It didn't take away from my enjoyment too much though. Nitpickers anonymous.
  4. Well, you didn't exactly phone it in either. And thanks for all the MIDI work you do man, you earned it mad-lad! Also, shoutout to @Trism for voting and participating and for hosting the Terranigma project. Sorry if I came off too mushy... Oh and and @Bundeslang for hosting; keeping PRC alive is very important to me.
  5. Ouch. Well, if it makes you feel better, just seeing you active and participating in any small way is awesome. I hope for a swift recovery. Take care man! Ok, sounds good.
  6. I was thinking of tugging your sleeve to remember to vote*, but I thought it'd come off as a bit conflict-of-interest-y since I submitted this round. (edit) Anywayyyys, thanks for remembering to vote and good to see you back in the compo scene
  7. Often, yeah. Also depends on the quality of the E/Q filter. Some cause phasing issues. But yeah, a 12-band E/Q seems to be the best way to go, unless you're working with top-notch samples that are already pre-recorded near-perfectly (even then, that's subjective). 7-band and below just don't cut it for me.
  8. Also, if using ambient pads, watch out for that god-damn 125HZ area. It used to always trip me up and i had no idea it was even a thing.
  9. Wow this is a good remix. Love how they humanized that flute. And the re-interpretive parts are stellar!
  10. Sorry for taking so long to respond. I enabled download now on it. Thanks! https://soundcloud.com/hoboka_alexshtokalko/comics-zone-credit-ewqlremix
  11. Uhhhhh...I didn't get a chance to submit. Does that mean I'm SoL for this round? I posted my entry in Soundcloud T_T....looks like it. RIP.
  12. Damn. I think we know who's keeping this scene alive. It's gonna be a cold, dark day when TVG moves on T_T EDIT PRC - PRC402 This compo will begin in on 12/23/21
  13. Alex Moukala sure has some good advise on advanced orchestration for FL Studio. This might be a good place to start if you have some big libraries but got no idea how to get the mod wheel and articulations to work right in FL. I'm just starting now, but figured I'd post it here in case I forget to share it with you folks. Hope it helps. https://www.syntheticorchestra.com/articulate/
  14. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) MIDI: https://compo.thasauce.net/files/materials/MnP109_Super_Monkey_Ball_Banana_Blitz_-_Smooth_Sherbert.mid Deadline: Jan 29th Wed @ 1 PM Vote Ends: Jan 31st Fri @ 1 PM MnP ARCHIVE - made by Trism submit: https://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/MnP109 MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. Most or all of the source notes must be present (but not necessarily in the exact same order), secondly the mood (energy, pacing, feelings being conveyed etc) should also be retained. For example, a source tune that is fast-paced and energetic that's remixed into a mellow/chill-out theme would be a hard sell. If you decide to do a genre swap (i.e. symphonic to techno), make sure that the conditions of #2 are met. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. Please don't make any comments about people's entries - including your own - until the Voting process is concluded. BONUS entries are exempt of this rule. Same rules for PRC voting Stage: don't vote for yourself, be considerate and try to give reasonable feedback as to why you liked X or Y entry. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)
  15. Results TheVideogamer got 1st with 9 points. Congradurations. Silverpool64 got 2nd with 6 points. Good effort. TheVideogamer, please PM me the source pick for round 109. Pick something wintery, if possible. Comments Apologies on the delay, thanks for submitting your bonus vote Seth and for submitting a bonus entry. And good to see you back silverpool64. Silverpool64 vote/comment. Though points not applied since only 2 entries. I don't know how many times I've tried to vote, but it keeps giving me a white screen. Here is my vote for MnP108 in case my other one didn't submit. Also, thank you for hosting the MnP compos. Without MnP and PRC, I probably wouldn't make music as often as I do. 1. TheVideoGamer 2. 3. TheVideoGamer: I'm seeing ways I can improve my ReMix as I listen to yours, mainly how the instruments fit well with each other. I like the key change! SethSkoda: I really like the chiptune take! Did you use any special hardware or did you use plug-ins?
  16. Cool! Thanks for the update. Here's to hoping we see FBRC in Summer.
  17. Done that one before. Is it fixed now?
  18. HELL YES. This is my jam baby. Got no complaints. Nice work man.
  19. Welcome to the Voting Stage! There are 2 entries this round. There is 1 Bonus entry this round There IS NOT a voter bonus this round. Sethskoda has a vote worth 2x. Don't vote for Bonus entries please. Participants may not vote for themselves. Vote ends Dec 31st Monday at 1 PM (Pacific) Vote here https://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/MnP108
  20. Fixed, thanks for heads-up. BTW, voting end-times are now gonna be 1PM. Doesn't make sense to keep it at 11PM anymore since I'm no longer doing random-hour shift work. Hopefully this will go over well.
  21. 2 day extension. Deadline: Dec 29th Sun @ 1 PM Vote Ends: Dec 31st Tues @ 1 PM
