  1. Is the Credits Theme still open for taking? I've been dying to trying out some orchestral stuff since I got some cool new samples and this song seems perfect for that, so I'd love to get on board and help you guys finish up. Some of My Stuff
  2. Done and Sub'd With the queue being as it is I predict it will get judged sometime next week
  3. I really can't figure out for the life of me how to assign seperate channels to a VSTi that supposedly can do seperate outputs in FL. More concretely; I'm using Addictive Drums, and I want to process the kick and snare 'outside' of the VSTi (i.e. In a seperate mixer channel), which should definitely be possible, except XLNaudio.com doesn't have anything on setting this up in FL. Is it even possible to use multi-out in FL?
  4. Whoa, what the fuck did I do? Drums went way too loud during the bumping up of the volume, so I'll fix that in the next render, but the Guitar Solo is there, even if it's umm..not that very audible. Anyway, all things except production are done, Resubbing tomorrow after a fierce Mixing & Mastering session
  5. I have to say, as an example of being able to like OoT based on other reasons than nostalgia: The first time I played it was when I got it in the limited edition windwaker box, and I actually preferred it to both Majora's Mask and WW (both of which I had played before that). I even think I liked it better than TP, but that may very well be because of the nostalgia. Call me a philistine, but I never managed to get myself through LttP, Zelda games for me have always been about an immersive 3d-world, and playing it in 2D really didn't work for me at all.
  6. You're going to remember this criticism: Nice sounding textures and a decent soundscape, but it's headed nowhere.. granted, things intensify a bit (and become muddier) throughout the piece, but still, no direction whatsoever. I can hear this playing in a cheap eighties horror flick, not on OCR. Edit: Wow, I was hung-over this morning, sorry for being so harsh and stuff, I should have said cheap NINETIES horror flick, not cheap EIGHTIES horror flick =/
  7. Indeed, make sure this is not a sudden whim and simply start making some music, don't think about selling or becoming a paid composer just yet, you have to be REALLY good for that.
  8. I'm stunned.. He wrote pieces with great feeling and emotion and his piano playing was some of the best I've heard around here. R.I.P.
  9. I'm in, and I'm totally mashing up Pachelbel's Canon in D with Jingle Bells in My Chemical Romance-style.
  10. Wow..just wow.. For shits and giggles try googling the terms " Timbaland Chiptune"
  11. You, dear sir, kick ass, I really can't think of much to add to this, since it's already slick as hell. Is that an erhu (the chinese bowed string-instrument) at 2:54?
  12. uh, so you took the midi and replaced the instruments with some fake-sounding soundfonts? May I ask what the point was in doing that?
  13. Go and judge my audition so I can start working on that mix, you slackers >
  14. They should hire some other guy to help post remixes and write descriptions. But seriously, what's the average waiting time for a remix to be judged? Two weeks? That's insane. Great job, jdgfgts
  15. Yep, been waiting to review this one. This is easily my favorite song from VoTL. I love the rather a-melodic approach on this one (it gives off more of an ambient feeling than a typical rock-mix would), backed by a steady rock-beat. Great sequencing on both the strings and drums, and the harmonized Guitar crescendo that leads up to the solo is just pure arrangement gold. One could say that the mixing drowns the rhythm guitars and the drums out a bit, but I think that was a necessary to bring the 'lighter' instruments across well, and hey, the guitars and drums are still audible, so no problems there! I enjoy it very much, excellent job y'all
  16. I think everybody got the message by now, so you can stop spamming it.
  17. Learn 2 process u nub But seriously, I'm pretty sure most 'hardcore' snares are really just your average 909-samples with a load of distortion/saturation.
  18. Nah you don't need to, I have a bass myself but most of the fills are too fast for me too, and I would have to simplify it a lot to be able to play it, so a sampled bass it is.
  19. Wow, despite the recording quality, I have to say your voice (and the lyrics) are actually pretty darn good. I'm not entirely opposed to collabing at the moment, but I do have a lot of other projects ATM, so I don't really know how much time I could invest in writing a mix around your stuff. What style did you have in mind for this?
  20. Hey you're right about the winamp thingy. I'm mixing on AKG K240's and using my cheapo speakers (with subwoofer though) as alternative reference. The hole in the higher mid-range might be explained by the fact that I reduced this range with multi-band compression on the drums to make the cymbals less intrusive. Funny thing is I've been boosting this range like a motherfucker in Reason, especially on the guitars, but meh, I'll take another look. I think pretty much the only major thing left to do is record the guitar-solo at 2:54, thanks for the feedback!
  21. Umm, if it's okay to sample stuff, then doing this would surely be fine too, especially if you're not commercially releasing it or anything. Not that I can imagine what you'd want to use the midi-ish Banjo-Kazooie instruments for, but hey, whatever works for you. Welcome to the forums. =)
  22. http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR00970/ = Blues AFAIK
  23. Exporting Tracks as .WAV files and sending them to each other is the only way I can think of =/
