  1. @ FuriousFure LOVE your analysis on the symbol. Good eye. I'd like to add something interesting here as well. When the timer counts down to moments before striking the full Triforce, it resets back to the beginning. So it doesn't get a full clockwise rotation.
  2. Very nice find there! How'd you stumble upon this? Anyway, I really hope that it's not a Harvest Moon version of Zelda. Rune Factory-type gameplay, on the other hand, will work. I prefer something from the ground up, though. It is kind of strange that Marvelous has a countdown on its page while Nintendo remains quiet about this. What's with all "The Minish Cap" hate? That was a great Zelda game with lots of nice ideas. In fact, every Zelda game that Flagship made was pure gold to me. They've done a nice job with ALLTP's GBA port. The Oracle series in my mind are the best handheld Zelda games, even better than Link's Awakening.
  3. Nice to see some VP love here. I also have some fond memories with this game. It looks beautiful and its soundtrack is still one of my favorites. I remember retrying the game from scratch a few times 'cause I didn't really understand the battle system or the progression system. Back then, it was very different from the RPGs I played.
  4. Didn't expect anyone to remix this source tune anytime soon. Leave to Mazedude to pick this quirky source and make it even quirkier. I think that it complements the folk-y vibe of the original really well, particularly the accordion lead. I'm downloading the whole project now. Really hope it has some quality tracks that are as good as this one.
  5. Wow...so many strong nostalgic memories to mention here. One of my favorites was playing Zelda for the first time. My cousin's uncle was a huge fan of the NES, especially with series like Zelda, Final Fantasy, and Dragon Warrior. Used to watch him play all of these back in the day (I was 7 years old I think), but my mind couldn't comprehend FF and DW 'cause they seemed to complex and boring to me. One day, he wanted me to chip in and play so he begged me to help him pass some areas in Zelda II. I've been hooked on Zelda ever since. Each game in the series has its own nostalgic moment to me, but Zelda II had the most "history" with me since it's the only one I never got to finish until recently. I was able to get to the final Palace with my uncle cheering me on, and that was it for me. A few years later I tried to play it again, but couldn't finish it. Many years later, the GameCube collector's edition comes out and I try to finish that...but can't. Finally, the GBA version was released a few years back...and that was when I FINALLY beat the game. I still consider it the hardest one in the series, and it's so fucking satisfying to finally beat the game.
  6. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17939_109-10135749-2.html?tag=contentMain;contentBody Curious to what you guys think of this nifty program. I haven't tried it out yet, but it claims that the tune will be created for you based on your singing. You can choose from various types of genres, and micro-transaction for more samples and shit is integrated in addition to the defaults. There's an example in the page, and the results are pretty cool. Price is attractive as well. Overall, this could be nifty for those who want some inspiration in case they're stuck with their own works or something. Wonder if anyone in OCR will find this helpful enough to use it.
  7. In case you guys didn't notice by now, Stemege updated his site with MP3s of Metroid Metal live. http://www.metroidmetal.com/songs.html Man, sounds really good. I can see why all of you enjoyed the hell out of it in MAG. The quality of playing is just about the same as the originals. I've been a fan for a long while...and I'm glad that Stemege took the next step in playing his stuff live with a band.
  8. While we're on the topic of MAGfest, you guys should really go check out the Dwelling of Duels results. Typically, MAGfest month has an insane number of entries brimming with quality, and this year's no different. http://dod.vgmix.com/past/mag7/ We even get to see the OCR debuts of a very unexpected collab. Taucer and Jose made a very cool DKC track which placed 19th. Yes, you actually listen to Taucer singing this time around as well. My question is; when will this get posted on OCR?
  9. Shashiburi-de, Cloud-o! *One Winged Angel starts playing*
  10. Just randomly searching for stuff until I stumbled upon this. I didn't know AE had a "rap" persona. Such an awesome performance, man. I've always been impressed by this song 'cause I think it's the fastest one I've ever heard, but you managed to keep up quite well with the lyrics. Love the background chiptune music as well.
  11. Interesting read there. Aside from a lot of love going into Valkyria Chronicles, nothing from Sega has impressed me in a long while. I think the Sonic Rush series is currently the closest Sega will ever get to the greatness of the classic Genesis series. The only thing I ever liked from the 3D games is the continuity in storyline. Sonic Adventure 2 was good stuff if you're playing with Sonic or Shadow...all other characters have crappy gameplay mechanics and level design.
  12. Wow. This is amazing work. The Super Mario Bros. 3 one is especially excellent since the original chiptunes had some Latin drum beats that he managed to incorporate and expand upon in his performance. You know what someone should do? Any guitarist out there...contact him for a collab. His drum tracks with the chiptunes replaced by guitars. Instant OCR win there.
  13. Well...thanks to youtube, I'll list out some of my favorites out of the game so that you guys can listen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5qS_fkR9ns&feature=PlayList&p=B6B9D756499BB00A&index=2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5RusmZA-6U&feature=PlayList&p=B6B9D756499BB00A&index=3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MU0B1rqjhFs&feature=PlayList&p=B6B9D756499BB00A&index=6 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq3nb3d7vJs&feature=PlayList&p=B6B9D756499BB00A&index=8&playnext=2&playnext_from=PL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VifWgjZZ22Y&feature=PlayList&p=B6B9D756499BB00A&index=10&playnext=4&playnext_from=PL
  14. I haven't seen any remixes of the exclusive tracks from this sub-game, which is really surprising since they're the best ones. Revenge of the Meta Knight has two fast-paced stage tracks and one REALLY cool ending one. It would be cool if someone tackles these for OCR. Revenge 1 Revenge 2 Ending/Credits The latter is one of my favorites. Epic stuff. BTW, even though the first two refer to "Kirby Air Ride", they're straight out of Super Star with no changes whatsoever.
  15. http://picasaweb.google.com/dillonp87/M7?authkey=e3_J0GK9BZo#5287745728497720146 Hopefully the first of many to come. You guys are so lucky to hear Metroid Metal live. One of my favorite tracks of Stemege's work...sounds sweet live. Glad those who went had fun. I need more videos so I can at least live the experience.
  16. Escariot's girlfriend has an amazing voice, indeed. Nice video, Hale.
  17. EPIC. All those tracks sound awesome! This album is a lot cooler than I expected. Great work, everyone. Fabul Men's Choir FTW! Hopefully I'm still part of that.
  18. Yes indeed. PoD ROCKS. His previous DoD track "Sonic Gargles with Golden Marbles" is one of the catchiest remixes I've ever heard. If he played that live, then you're so freakin' lucky. Let's hope there's a video of that. Speaking of videos, nice work with the new year's countdown vid. Can't wait for those panels, Dave.
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN2WkHLIweE One of the funniest videos I've seen in awhile. This proves how awesome these voice actors are. The improv was done so well and it's great how everyone's in character while keeping a straight face. It's so damn funny I can't even write my favorite quote of the video...I'll let you guys do that. Praying for a bloopers reel. While you're at it, watch some of UltraNeko's other videos. I've been a fan of her for awhile. There are a few nice solo interviews with some of the MGS4 casts and others. Some of her video reviews are funny as well.
  20. Gotta agree with you there. He turned one of Sonic Adventure 2's cheesiest tracks into something truly awesome. Bet he can do the same with the DK Rap. On the other hand, there's the other extreme in which someone can make the DK Rap funnier and cheesier than it already is...Crazy Crackaz or Shael Riley can do the job.
  21. I REALLY didn't mean to relate this expression to Australians. Sorry if I caused any offense. I'll change the title. To the one who said that he successfully copied his save on another PS3...that was before the trophy support. If you didn't download the latest firmware that's associated with Trophies, then you can still copy your saves to other PS3s. What's weird is...games like DMC4 and Soul Calibur IV do not have trophy support in the first place, yet you still can't copy them for some stupid reason. I have no idea how to copy/save/move your profile onto a USB or other memory unit. I don't think there's a way to do that so far...unless you're doing a full back-up of everything of course.
  22. I remember people linking to a couple of awesome JAMspace performances on youtube last year. Hopefully we get some cool stuff this year as well.
  23. Remember the last two generations when the so-called "memory card" was the most innovative thing ever created? Just put your saves in there...and if you want to, you can go over to your friends and brag about your progression, play at his house, and even give him a copy of your save file in case he doesn't want to go through all the shit. Simple and effective. Things are haywire this generation in my opinion, and quite frankly it's been pissing me off for quite sometime. For some stupid reason, all three competitors have made it extremely hard, if not impossible, for us to continue the memory card legacy. So the first versions of the PS3 has all these shitty memory ports, not to mention the USB slots that we have now, which could've been the perfect continuation of the memory card. But no, Sony had to complicate shit up. I tried to bring my save file of Soul Calibur IV to a friend's house via USB so we can play with everything unlocked from the get-go...but the damn thing tells me that I'm not authorized to use copy this save file to his profile 'cause it's not his to begin with. Who gives a damn if it's not his? I just want to use the save file in peace. I'm assuming (big IF here) this can be fixed by tediously creating a profile that's identical to mine on his PS3...but the only way to do so is to connect the PS3 online, which is really bothersome if there's no internet connection around. Why can't I just copy my PS3 profile to my USB or something...just like Xbox Live? Speaking of Xbox Live, they're also not immune to this problem. Slightly better than the PS3, but still has some major faults 'cause of the similar structure. I can't use my save in another 360 unless I move my XBL gamertag/profile to a memory unit along with my save. Additionally, you can't "give" friends your save, either...'cause of those achievements. I mean, it would be much simpler if I get a message like "achievements won't move over to the other profile because it's not your progress"...but no, moving saves between profiles is strictly prohibited for some weird reason. Only thing that I can give props to the 360 is that you can directly access your saves from your memory unit, unlike the PS3 (that is, if you can get your save file to work in another PS3 in the first place). As for the Wii, I haven't really experimented in moving my saves to another system...but I'm assuming that there are no restrictions since there's no "profile system" to begin with. So in that regard, it's much better. However, the Wii has its own share of problems. First off, the system has one SD slot only with an extremely slow transfer progress. Also, there are a lot of game saves that cannot be backed-up or transferred to your SD card for no reason whatsoever...and some of them are the games that matter. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a major example of this fault. It takes a ton of space off your Wii, but you can't back it up on your SD slot (aside from the in-game photos and custom stages, which is nice but not good enough). So in order to enjoy a fully-unlocked Smash Bros. Brawl over at a friends, you have to bring the Wii with you! SD slot is useless. Speaking of useless, you can't even access your saves directly from the SD in most games. You gotta copy it to the Wii memory first. Also, if your Wii breaks or your save becomes corrupt (God Forbid) then it's goodbye 100+ hours of Smash Bros. playtime. I wonder if anyone here is as pissed off as me?
  24. Waking Life is the worst movie I've ever seen. The only thing it has going for it is its unique "rotoscoping" cel-shaded look. Storyline, pacing, and plot are unbelievably boring and confusing.
