    42's "breath of fresh air" connection is entirely accurate, I really like what's been done with this track from all angles. It's very airy and fluid but extremely peaceful at the same time due to the instrument choices. For a long time after Summoning of Spirits I was calling this my favorite remix on the site, and I think it's still up there in my top 5. The cello really captivates my attention and is really just plain beautiful. You couldn't have done anything even close to that great with sequenced cello so I'm glad you opted to find a live performer! Brilliant work from all sides, this is one of those songs I can't get tired of listening to.

    Wow, that's killer work You should keep the rest of the updates private so the final artwork will be a surprise, if Bahamut and Taucer end up using it. Either way, though, I'm highly impressed!

    Willrock's told me that this project is next on his list of things to do, so hopefully you won't have to wait much longer before he shows you something WIP'd

    The Banjo-Kazooie project isn't going anywhere, and neither is Link's Awakening. B-K is just temporarily locked down because there's a site-wide moratorium on new projects starting up. It'll come back in due time.

    Hahahaaaaah... But in all seriousness though, I know music takes time and I don't want to be a dick to someone who's doing so much work for the site in general, but can we at least get confirmation that djp's songs are being progressed on? They've both been claimed for well over a year and a half and sitting at about the same status, so will the project drag out until Dave finishes or is there an out in case he can't get them finished for whatever reason?

    Hey, really killer work on all fronts I've loved Abadoss's collabs ever since I heard him on FFIV, and this just shows how much potential he has to branch out and do something completely new and different with every song. The orchestration and vocals have their flaws, but in the end it's nothing that makes a serious dent in my overall enjoyment. The lyrics are incredibly touching once you know the story they are trying to portray. This was a surprise for me when I heard it on Xenogears, you guys all really rose to the challenge on this one!

    Yup, I'm with Will. I think this style would have worked a lot better with a bit more melodic content. What impresses me, though, is the exquisite use of textures, layering, and expansion as the mix goes on. Definitely more appropriate for the detail-oriented listener, but it's very well produced and I think everyone can appreciate that on some level

    Is the tracklist on the first post up to date? Because if it is, I've heard of waaaaay more than 3 remixes that are still being worked on

    Yes! I've been waiting for this one to hit the front page for a long time. The original was actually probably a highlight of the game it came from. I never even knew the OCR connection between the original singer, either, so that was pretty cool That was likely the longest writeup I've ever seen. As for the song itself, it feels very emotional and personal, which offers a nice foil to the original, especially since the lyrics remain unchanged. Very interesting to listen to the original alongside this remix, as both are very good. I can see this mix becoming very popular, it's got all the right ingredients to make it the sort of thing you can listen to on repeat and never get tired of. Bravo, both of you!

    Sure thing, I just happened to be listening to it a few hours ago so I knew from the first second of listening to that video what song it was It's a pretty rare track, as far as I know, but I'm a nut for both of the source tunes so I knew it right away. Glad to be of help, I was hoping for the day that my ridiculous knowledge of DKC music would help figure out one of these threads

    Dire Dire Consequences by Jredd It's a mix of Hot Head Bop from DKC2 and Dire Dire Docks from Super Mario 64. To give you some more background on the song, it was submitted to VGmix which is probably where you found it. It was subbed to OCR but didn't make it past the judges' panel, which is unfortunate because it's actually one of my favorite Hot-Head Bop remixes :\

    This really is a treat for the ears - I sometimes knock the trance genre for being so conducive to cookie-cutter, generic arrangements and sounds, but at the end of the day a nice solid trance song really makes me happy. This one's hitting all the right notes for me. The subtle vocal clips and the presence of the piano throughout feel like high points in the mix, but it's all extremely solid. The piano ending doesn't sound bad to me - it could have been better but I think it's a pretty nice clincher to be honest. This one surprised me a lot, nice work!

    Just out of curiosity, Hylian Lemon, how do you expect to finish up 23 different WIPs that you have unfinished (according to your tracklist) in just over a month? That's a pretty impressive feat for anyone, I'm curious if that list is accurate or if there's something I'm missing here

    1 track submission a month is the rule last time I heard. If you're collabing, you can have the partner submit it for you and it won't count against you, but you've got to have a 1-month buffer period in between each song you send in.
