You do make a good point, as I already have .org, remod, and the *chans for normal style internet entertainment. All I'm saying is that these forums need more activity. Something new and exiting to draw more posters in (or back). EDIT: Just to clarify, I honestly could give two shits that unmod isn't here anymore. Most of us have either moved on to .org or remod anyway.

The site itself seems to be doing better recently, and thats good, but I don't think that has anything to do with unmod being deleted. Its just natural growth of the site, for the benefit of all. The thing that concerns me is if you have a great site like this, wouldn't you want a set of reasonably interesting forums to go with it? GenDisc offers nothing to the random visitor to the site that he can't find everywhere else, and by chance they do sign up, they get gendisc with a drunk idiot.

What OCR lost by the deletion of Unmod was forum activity. GenDisc is EXTREMELY slow now (console threads, SSBB thread), and Offtop is basically just AD, PassivePretentiousness(read: annoying drunk AD lite) and noobs. Wether zircon would like to realize it or not, the forums are dead.

Thats the thing, there isn't really much you can tweak yet. I have been using Vista on this laptop for about three months, and with anything less than 2 gigs of RAM it is noticeably less responsive than XP. There are still some compatibility problems, though they are few and far between as of now. However, the way Vista manages RAM is much better. It preloads the programs you use regularly into RAM, so they load much faster. This is also the reason Vista likes to eat up RAM.

Look everywhere you think might sell games. I mean everywhere. Hell, even walmart. I found Rez, Disgaea 1, ZOE 1 and 2, and a bunch of other rarer games on discount shelves.

I thought as much. As for cooling options....there isn't much. Evaporative colers don't work in humidity (or very well at all for that matter). Peltiers (read: refrigerator) style coolers are horribly inefficient. Really, you can just deal with it, or see if you can work something out with your landlord.

Is cutting a hole in the wall an option? It sounds kinda extreme, but its really not. There are smaller fans that you can buy that are specifically made for this application, which would be to have a fan or two near the floor in the wall to circulate the air in the cool room into the others. Its surprisingly effective.

I would start contributing again, but both my desktops are broken. Once I get a new Socket 939 motherboard, Ill set my OC'd 2.4ghz Opteron 144 to fold all the time.

If you at all possibly can, save your money and go for an 8800GTS 320mb. Even with just a 320mb frame buffer, it kicks the crap out of any of the 8600 series.
