  1. i think this is smart, you'll still put yourself at a disadvantage if you aggro but if makes it so if you have a chance to go on someone, you won't lose half your life chasing them through minions before level 6. if you're smart, other than that instance minions should never be attacking you, and they do the same damage to towers so there's no big issue
  2. linearity in most cases is now determined by whether or not you can drive around the city and kill hookers in between missions i am also of the camp that says linearity isn't always a bad thing i'm pretty sure just about everything else in entertainment (see movies, music, television, books) is linear as well, usually storytelling works in a beginning to end fashion after all.
  3. my point is more specifically geared towards 7, while it was a good game it has its archaic elements (read: random battles that end up being attack-fests, no heavy character specialization in that everyone can do everything, an overworld that takes time to travel through) and right now the younger generation believes it was an awesome game purely on hearsay. square can make more profit by keeping it that way and continuing to further the 7 brand than they can by making a straight remake of the game and having that huge part of the fanbase fall off, not to mention if they change things or have poor voice acting what the orginal hardcore fans might riot about simply put if they make it they're going to disappoint a large proportion of someone on the other hand i'm also one of those people who believes that if they had released 10, 12 or 13 in 1997 with the same graphics and text-over that the ps1 games had people would have loved that the same way they do the ps1 classics. for whatever reason gamers seem to love cheesy and unreliable dialogue when it's in text, but then dismiss the exact same line if it's spoken. this is obvious throughout gaming: 'master of unlocking,' 'all your base,' just about EVERY older square game in some form or another. if it's in text, people EAT THAT SHIT UP. imagine a 32-bit Snow that talks about being a hero all the time. everyone would have LOVED it. in the same vein, imagine if Barret was a character in a new FF game, with the same over-the-top dialogue and getting upset-all-the-time-ness in beautiful CG and full voiceover. i can already tell you the mass response would be 'oh wow what a racist Japanese stereotype of a black guy, how boring and obnoxious.' i just don't see why square would go to the trouble of destroying the huge nostalgia trip that is ff7 by putting it up for criticism by mordern standards
  4. s'ok i lose :3 honest mistake one never knows
  5. pretty sure he's not talking about you wasn't there some other dude who hacked a bunch of vgmix/ocr sites protricity? or am i thinking of someone else
  6. because if they remake those games they will all feel incredibly dated by modern standards and the new generation will be like 'oh these games suck this is what everyone said was so good?' i enjoy them but what modern child would sit through those?
  7. in this day and age THERE IS NO REASON WE CAN'T RAGE AT YOU FOR NO REASON jeez.
  8. fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU
  9. i'm gonna be lame and make a list of what i've watched and what i haven't just so you can all secretly scoff at me/give me suggestions off of that still running/something to keep me entertained weekly: One Piece Bleach Fairy Tail series: Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood Deadman Wonderland (if you haven't heard of it at least look it up) Samurai Champloo Code Geass Death Note Hell Girl seasons 1-3 Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Hajime No Ippo Neon Genesis Evangelion Giant Killing (soccer anime, a pretty good watch if you're into that kind of thing) [C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control (great concept, clearly ran out of funding/interest and ended at 11 episodes. first 4 episodes bring up some good food for thought) that's all i've got i think. this is in no particular order. I have of course watched the whole dragonball series but to me that almost doesn't count because you have to watch that show in english. it just doesn't feel right with the music and the voices in the japanese dub. i remember big o being on toonami but never paid too much attention to it, same with yu yu hakusho and ruroni kenshin. i remember outlaw star being in the awesome toonami music videos i.e.
  10. this show was the bomb i had the good luck of being in japan when it was wrapping up and got to watch the second to last episode in a japanese bathouse it was epic edit: i found this image anyone have any comments on it? http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/7528/1258600944919.jpg
  11. anything with complexity is good i've been looking for a definitive list of modern series that are great but there isn't really much of one
  12. oh hey cool LETS PLAY TF2 NOW GUYS jeez no one's ever on anymore other than powerlord
  13. already hit it. there are some fucked up parts of that show but it's pretty awesome also recently watched was deadman wonderland which starts out awesome and then gets just kind of awesome. people fight with blood (literally) so its really violent.
  14. hey guys what show should i watch i just got through the end of code geass and while i'm undecided on whether i liked the way the 2nd season ended it was undoubtedly a well-put-together show. throw something at me
  15. i liked this a lot people looked more believable when they were moving than those still images do i'm interested to see what happens in the 'flashback' section more than with the original cast thought right now
  16. i'll get this once i have some money sounds like its worth the investment
  17. sounds like that game went pretty well
  18. .. i don't get it thats exactly what this courier is, just with different keys. select courier, deliver items, speed boost. it even goes back by itself after. the only thing different is being able to make it invincible with r unless you've got the courier selected it does autoselect your hero with a right click. and self cast is doubletap there is a quick scoreboard button you just have to bind it. i bound mine to tab its no different as far as having an issue seeing heroes or understanding what's going on, i can't say i had that problem but some of them are small. the only thing i miss from LoL is being able to press space to re-center on my character
  19. i just can't take things like that seriously how does that guy respect himself after a) doing that showing the entire internet
  20. sweet we'll have to organize a game soon
  21. any guesses on the next character to come through the pipes
  22. yeah the reason i asked is i've been training up my sniper pretty well and while pubstomping isn't that hard i realize i'd like to see what i can do
