  1. I hate to rain on your guys parade, but the soundfonts on this piece are quite poor, and it really sounds incredibly mechanical. Not to mention, there's very little variation aside from instrument. It's all from the same small piece of the song. Admittedly the source doesn't give you much to work with, but be creative! There are tangents you could explore. I love the thought and its starting out ok, but it does need a lot of work before its close to OCR material.
  2. I was listening to this track today, and it has the best potential for a heavy metal/rock mix of any song i've heard recently. I think it would be easy to do and awesome to listen to.

  6. ummm i feelz like this iz not remix material. presets abound all over the place and there's really no variation from the original source tune... fixing both of those would make this an ok piece. And the z's are because i've been a icanhazcheezburger.com all day long, laughing my ass off.
  7. oh hai guys, so i was reading gimpyfish's E for All impressions and he says that l-canceling occurs if you're fastfalling while doing an attack, you must be fastfalling before you use the attack, but if you do lag is canceled. at least by the demo. If true its certainly a step in the right direction.

  10. Dude... after listening to this song, I went back and played through portal tonight. JUST to hear the song with the ending text to go with it. And it was satisfying.
  11. Does anyone here frequent smashboards? because if so, DON'T GO THERE. It's a freaking warzone, the internets may well have asploded not to mention teh worlds. Not pretty at all.

Hey there, I'd like to go on record as saying this is the best EVAR (due to its connection to advance wars) but its not perfect yet. in addition to what's been said i feel like the drums are a little thin, maybe think about adding a bit more weight to them? other than that i like it a whole lot, good for you!
  14. for all tards who do not realize, rolling was in smash 64. and ssbm. dodging in place, which is just shield and down, is only in ssbm, and not 64. that is all.
  15. well... you can say that if you want but you're still 100% wrong. sakurai himself said there will be around 30-40 combatants, likely right in the middle of those numbers. so that's probably not correct.

I know the matchups pretty well, i've been playing for two-threeish years (though i live in nh so there's not a huge amount of competition). but i know my smash, so what matchup are you worried about? also, for shieks while they're obviously a broken breed (completely unfair for those who don't know the lingo) most shieks you play will be more offensive than they should be. very high level sheiks will not, but for anyone below that i think its safe to say that your best bet is to capitalize on that. if you play defensively, running off and pressuring with whatever long range stuff you might have, you can wait for a sheik to make a mistake and then react from there. its a bitch thing to do i know, but its worked well for me in my experience.

  18. just so you peoples know, there's an entire forum of people ready to review your matches. if you go to smashboards.com there are tons of competent players willing to critique you, i go there all the time and i've learned a bunch from conversations and videos. not that we mind doing it here of course.
  19. Honestly? This stage to me looks like flat zone x 20 suck. who would ever be satisfied at the end of a fight on that stage? the stage decides who wins and loses.

  22. If I may ask, how is the website coming along? will that be done before the 7th, seeing as usually the site has been used as a preview of sorts?
  23. i like this, in general its really good. i like the drum part at 40: best, the rest of the drum is ok but it lacks depth imo. i like the general premise though, the echo-y lead is nice. keep at it, this will go somewhere.
  24. wow, i like this a ton. some of that has to do with my obsession with smashbros, but its a really good track in its own right, and for trance it does what its supposed to. a little variation would be nice but its a more than decent start.

I know no one really looks in this forum seriously for remixes, but on the off chance someone talented has too much time on their hands and an open mind, there are a ton of good tracks from Paper Mario that would be awesome remixed. The toad town theme, twink's theme, and the shooting star area are the three that have specifically popped out at me from playing it again on virtual console (5th time through, hells yes) but i know there are even more. please someone hear my call, it would be awesome!
