  1. That was actually really good. Most people coming in with their first mix sound godawful but this is a very well done techno mix. My only problem was the beginning synths are a little too overpowering, but other than that it was greatness in a bottle. Good luck with submission!
  2. i don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but maybe something it could be is he is running straight out of his jump. this would be a new technique by itself, and it does look as if he goes straight into his awkward running animation without any other real animation bumps. i remember thinking in melee that would be useful, so maybe thats it?
  3. It sounds pretty good, but the sounds seem a little low quality, and the bass could use a little more presence. It feels really understated, but could help the mix a lot if fixed.
  4. i may be the only one, and correct me if i'm wrong, but the fake sax sounds just like the ones from the dkc games. Which is sweet! I like it like that personally. within 2:20-3 ish, the sax doesn't seem like its on time with the piano, and it sounds just a little off in general. also, right at the beginning, the intro sounds i guess a bit stiff. Could just be me, but a little looser play right at the begninning could be nice. otherwise keep it up, i like it a lot!
  5. drumultima at some point you're going to have to post up some marimbas/mallets/whatever here. between this and the chrono trigger one you deserve recognition for these.
  6. Man I wish I was... me and my friends are the only smashers in our area and it would be so much fun to go test skills, but its not likely to happen. Unless one of us uses boozer and just punches our opponents in the faces. Then we'd win for sure. Anyhoo, good luck!
  7. Xenon you punched that bgm in the faces. But I still think someone should do an OCRworthy mix of this, it would fit so welllllllll....
  8. God of War II: YES I think this is kind of a given. Most all of us have played this game and its just rediculously good at what it does; combat is heavenly, puzzles are there but not quite aggravating, it just all adds up. Yes, for sure. Tekken: Dark Resurrection: YES I absolutely adored Tekken 5, and if you add on a couple new features and characters, its awesome. Loading times can be a bother, seeing as its on a portable, but if you can work through that its a gem. Warioware: Touched: NO I bought this game and beat it in two days, and not the good kind of "zomg this is awesome play nonstop" kind of two days. Maybe 6 hours, at the most. I had an awesome time doing it, but there just wasn't enough there to keep me playing it for any amount of time, and there wasn't much to make me go back and say, "well that was a great game." Fun, but not a must play by any means. EDIT: Looking back, there was one tie which I could not let stand. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker: YES This game got a lot of crap for not being grown up enough, but that's a load of bull. This was a great Zelda game, just like most of them have been, and a little bit of cel shading doesn't change the quality of gameplay.
  9. I'm going to mirror most of what avaris said, and add that at times, the percussion felt a little off beat. Given that's the percussion's job, to keep the beat, it feels like a pretty major problem, but not likely to be one that's too hard to fix. Keep it up, I love the sound of it and it can definitely go somewhere.
  10. to add on, do any of you know of any for guitar? my brother is picking it up and it'd be cool to get him some good stuff like that.
  11. I was playing through SMW the other day on my gameboy advance, and this could be a good song on its own just put with high quality fx. i think this could be an awesome remix, someone should give it a go.
  12. me gusta mucho. for those of us who don't speak spanish, me likey lots. My one thing is it sounds very 8 bit, almost a bit too much in places. I like the idea, for sure, I just thing a little bit more of a "real" feel could help. That's just me though, it sounds great. And by the way, whatever became of the chrono trigger marimba piece you did? I loved that.
  13. I hate to be the obnoxious guy who asks, but completionwise how far along do you think you guys are? I'm not trying to rush at all, far from it, but curiosity compells me to ask.
  14. hey quick question; this project is teh sweet just by principle alone, but i was wondering if anyone would like to toss out a brief description of the album art for those of us who are interested. that is, if its possible
  15. agreed, the mario sports games all have good music; it would be cool to see a compilation album but i'd settle for a couple good remixes
  16. Ditto the LOL'ing at 3-4 boss. Though I must say I was a bit hurt when one of the true/false questions was "video game soundtracks are so high-techhniiiicaaaalllll!" But I mean, he has a point and stuff.
  17. yeah rod i was very happy to see that. like 2 days after i put this up there are 2 wips in the work. Me likey
  18. look under other kirby games. the original song is Green Greens. believe me they're there.
  19. As good as it may sound, it won't ever pass. This is like the song from the movie almost to a t. sorry, but i can't see this ever working out.
  20. Wow. I'm a big fan of this already, and I only played this game like twice. Ever. I don't know if its what you're looking for or not, but it seems pretty obvious that the guitars aren't real. Also, the cymbal crash is really tinny. Once again, both of those could be just how you want it, but they both stuck out to me personally. I like this a lot, and I hope you keep working on it!
  21. He's talking about the team behind www.pandora.com. what they've done is gotten as much music as they could get their hands on, and put it into a streaming radio database. If you go to the site it all becomes clear (make an account and whatnot, its all free either way) but generally what it does is it takes aspects of songs you like, such as tempo, recording style, and musical signatures and gives you others just like it. They'll take your CD and put it on streaming radio for free, so it might be worth it. Or if he's talking about something else completely different, then I apologize for the confusion. Seriously though, check out pandora.com, its amazing, and if you give them your music they'll put it in with the rest of it.
  22. I think people didn't like it because it didn't really fit the feel of the rest of the album. You're drifting along, listening to mostly uptempo, pseduo-electronic music, and all of a sudden it goes straight to a single piano. I agree individually it's great, but if you're listening to the whole album it really does stick out like a sore thumb.
  23. haha i do the exact same thing joefu. its probably the best habit i could possibly have. not only that it puts me to sleep like no other; once you're done its out like a light for me. mmm. light.
  24. i'm a big fan of the beginning. it reminds me of a little kid mischeviously creeping around. it sounds a little bit muddy in spots, almost as if there's just a little too much reverb, but i think aside from that it sounds just fine. can't wait to see where you're going with this.
  25. I've got a question about this project. I think its an awesome sweet idea, and I can't wait for it to be done. But how are you planning on integrating it into the site? is there going to be a bio database, or will you only be able to find the one of whose picture is in the top right corner? i was curious about how that would work.
