  1. Oh I forgot: not only I'm excited to hear Little Nemo on the album, but also Showroom Dummy on the album! I've been swamped with other priorities though. I'll try to get back to this as soon as I can.
  2. It's alive.. alive! I foresee a Tuberz McGee contribution on my track. Orchestral instruments, check. (Maybe another collab point.) VV1+2 consent form signed. Let's get the whip cracking!
  3. I'll definitely submit something.
  4. That's awesome, because I was also thinking of that track as an example of ambient on OCR and how much I liked that one too. So it's like.. you did this track for me. Thanks!
  5. Wow, this is a really cool comeback. Good idea to downsize to EP lenght, but uniqueness is a great theme for an album. I'm looking forward to the results already!
  6. Yup, sounding much more balanced. The noise is noticeable on the violin when there's no signal, but I didn't really find it that distracting. Can't offer more crits with these ears. Enjoying!
  7. Sooooo goooooooood. Superb sound, I love a good grand ambient piece and it's lovely to see some on OCR. A cold, clear sense of yearning and sublime.. makes me want to search ancient ruins on stray asteroids beyond the orbit of Saturn and stuff.
  8. Maybe, maybe.. I have a tiny bit of percussion and bass done & a very simple guitar part, which I'd need to record..
  9. Caught that when OCR retweeted about it, thought it was a really cool watch.
  10. I feel dizzy.. this is a pretty exciting idea! I second the idea of "obscure stuff" flood!
  11. I also already wrote the drum track to this. Some bass and organ would be nice, hmmm...
  12. Sweet playing, and a pretty cool arrangement too! The whole thing sounds muffled and stuff. Looking at the EQ, the piano on its own doesn't seem to go much beyond 5kHz, and the violin could also have a liiittle more high frequencies to it. I also tried out EQ'ing the low/low mid EQ (from about 600Hz downwards) down by around 3dB and it sounds more balanced to me that way. Reverb-wise this sounded good to me. Good work, hope you can give it a little more polish!
  13. Final Candidate 1 Looks like I had only compressed one of the guitar tracks. Apart from that, some drum tweaks and overall mixing changes. I think this could very well be done.
  14. To be honest, I haven't listened to the Symphonic Suite much, so I appreciate the link! I have a pretty solid techno arrangement of "Wandering Warriors" going here! Tons of Commodore 64 sounds.. why not.
  15. Little tweaking to the duet lead. I'm done! FC 4 2016/01/08 --- I've massaged the EQ & levels of leads & the arp once again, and adjusted the writing, so that whichever lead is the support lead will (hopefully) not step in the way of the other. Then in the final repeat of the "chorus" they both play as a duet, but (hopefully) adjusted so that they compliment each other. FC3 2014/10/10 ---- final candidate 2: FC2 2014/10/10 Some love for the levels, EQ and vibrato for the leads + arp; bass drum filtering & fills & stuff. I'd like to think I'm done, shout if you hear anything funny! (esp. the bass drum) ---- new, final candidate 1: FC1 2014/09/21 Bit more pad towards the end, some filtering of a lead instrument + mixing the snare/tom a bit up. ---- wip 1: WIP 2014/09/05 A techno rearrangement of Wandering Warriors from Shining Force II, with lots of Commodore 64 samples. This is a continuation of my PRC277 bonus track, and a part of the Shining Force II 2014 mix drive! I'll post a source breakdown later, since it is much modified & adapted. I think I'll do some lead variations and stuff at least. Mixing advice much appreciated!
  16. Thanks for the encouraging comments! I'll get back to you guys when I get some work done on the track.
  17. Always good to see the underrepresented systems and less known games get some love. I wrote a nice, simple guitar part just now, slowing it down, maybe a little bluesy in feel even. If I have the time to record it, I'll enter.
  18. Quite a solid mix, but indeed a bit repetitive. Making that final stretch a bit shorter like XPRTNovice suggested could very well work. (I've got to forward this to a friend who was a fan of the game's music.) Also, Liontamer was just mentioning the lack of reggae OC ReMixes, so there's definitely a call for this one. =)
  19. Many thanks for the mod review!

  20. Thanks for the breakdown, Crowbar Man! Now I'm going to spend way too much of the day listening to that stuff on Youtube.. edit: Wow, Lagrange Point sounds incredible. The FM sound is well used and the tone of the pieces is often incredibly melancholic.
  21. I'm surprised you didn't, there. =)
  22. This is a lot of fun to jam on the guitar. Maybe if I do have a moment..
  23. I'll try to fill out my arrangement a bit this week for some progress. I haven't even listened to it in a while, which should make it a fresh encounter. =)
  24. That's a quite nice, pleasant and malleable source indeed. I start getting ideas already, though I'm pretty sure I don't have the time to realize them! But good luck to everyone entering this round, should be interesting to hear your pieces!
  25. Yeah, damn those casual gamers for gaming. Keep your dirrrty hands off my hobby. How dare you make up a market for game companies. But yeah, support the stuff you want to see by buying it, definitely. If I wanted to blame something, how about the ever-increasing demand for production values, eye candy and technological progress and the upward-spiraling budgets that come with that? I personally happen to like that "retro" stuff & gameplay focusing game developers, which doesn't demand so much money thrown at production values. In my areas of interest there seems to be just more and more killer stuff coming out all the time.
