  1. I've been listening to both of these, and am pretty hyped about both of them! Great takes, and both feel very source-appropriate. Still looking forward to working on one or the other, need to finish some other stuff first. --Eino
  2. An update was made! --Eino
  3. The album notes were quite fun to read from vgmdb in advance.. I always like to hear people's stories behind their work, pretty cool that Emunator and Flexstyle turned out to live in pretty close proximity. I'm sure that made a lot of things a lot easier (and fun) for you guys! --Eino
  4. Happy birthday to a helluva rockin' guitarist! --Eino
  5. Quite a nice tune! Again, lots of directions one could take this to. Much simpler source than last time, too. --Eino
  6. A pretty rocking, varied arrangement of frankly, not the greatest of sources. The combination of those two chords and that melody in the first part feels kind of stunted (which is quite sad for the plant-themed Wood Man). The ReMix doesn't break that impression, resulting in a strangely low key tune for such rocking instrumentation. I don't think it embraces this feeling like it could either, so it falls a bit mid-way. I'll have to say, though, that I love the guitar part at 1:56! --Eino
  7. Hey, great to hear that you could wrap this up in time. Looking forward to hearing it! --Eino
  8. The guitar goes really well with the electronics in this one, very well done combining them. I also really liked the transition around 2:30. High point of the track! As for criticism, the judge decision thread has a lot of good points. I personally wasn't fond of the eurodancey bass/beats, and many of the drum fills, especially as the bassdrum doing the fast notes didn't add to the energy, but seemed to lose it. (All of the those notes seem to be at full velocity - varying it might make it work better). Overall the beat of the song could have flowed better, it feels like its dragging down rather than building up and going forwards. But apart from the bass and beat, I enjoyed the synth sounds, and as I said I admire how seamlessly and effortlessly the guitar is incorporated, and that 2:30 bit keeps me listening to this piece again. Congrats on the well deserved first post, and I'm looking forward for more! --Eino
  9. Congrats on getting posted! Cool track too!

  10. from Touched! is a long track that'd be fun to hear ReMixed. I've had some other ideas for the Touched! soundtrack, so yeah, maybe perhaps!--Eino
  11. Once again I've started something.. this time, I began with source, so I should be able to submit something, even if it ends up being just a sketch. Hopefully, I'll have a bit more time to work on it. --Eino
  12. This was my piece from KNGI Game Duels EP vol.1, that I'm touching up for OCR submission. release candidate: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/v4k1kk3qgbn9hw6k2qcrf/eino_keskitalo_-_ninjan_graali-20250108-rc.mp3?rlkey=9z7vmrdurm3o1u752bh57gtka&st=50rct5h0&dl=0 Sources: Aquaduct from Ninja Gaiden (Xbox): Title Screen from Knight 'n' Grail (C64): https://haxel.bandcamp.com/track/title-screen Ghost Castle from Knight 'n' Grail (C64): https://haxel.bandcamp.com/track/ghost-castle Source breakdown: The arpeggio from Ghost Castle plays almost throughout The two-note figure that plays in Aquaduct 0:00-0:38 is played 0:00-1:00 (though in 6/8 and 7/8 instead of 4/4) Dropping the bass to C# in Aquaduct at 0:20 is reflected at 0:45-1:00 (although the bass does come back to D# in the arrangement before going back to C#) The melody from Title Screen plays at 0:28-1:00 The melody from Ghost Castle at 0:47-> is played in the background at 0:45-1:00 Aqueduct 0:39-> is approximated at 1:16-2:07 The two-note figure from Aquaduct plays at 2:07-2:38 The melody from Ghost Castle is played from 2:07-> The bass also follows Ghost Castle chord changes. Old: Current WIP (2013-03-09) Changes done since the EP version: better mixing more attention to stereo image unbusify, define parts better spice up the bass a bit rename the piece twice A little of each seems to have done a lot. It's amazing how much chipping away at levels and EQ does. It did take me hours and hours though! --Eino
  13. There's this feature: http://ocremix.org/forums/tags.php?tag=ska But not all the threads are tagged. Tracks with LuIzA involved have a good chance of including ska elements in it. One not mentioned is Materia Junkie. You might also like this one. Not sure if it really fits at all to the genre criteria, but it came to mind. --Eino
  14. Yup, it's great to hear how well this project has progressed! The soundtrack is full of great stuff (I was practically introduced to it via this project thread.. yup. Looking forwards to the finished album! --Eino
  15. They added two more items to $10 and over tier (Hotline Miami EP and POP:ME1), and also added seven more days to the counter. The $10 tier bonus list: Hotline Miami: The Takedown EP POP:ME1 Joypad Records EP Skyrim: Main Theme cover by Lindsey Stirling and Peter Hollens Kanto Symphony EP Adventures in Pixels Jottobots I thought the previous GMB's $10 tier rewards were such a horn o' plenty, that this ones looked quite pale in comparison (though the main offering was very good). Now it's starting to sound much more like it. Of course, that's just comparing it to previous bundles.. it's all way worth more than $10. Not that I could give more than $1 this time, quite sadly. Check it out folks, it's good stuff. --Eino
  16. Having just replied to a Kickstarter thread and started another in succession , I think a collected thread is a great idea. Thanks for doing the moderating! --Eino
  17. Here's one that's just a couple of thousand short and a few hours to go - one I'd really like to see get made. Hero-U from the designers of Quest for Glory.. I played and enjoyed QfG1 (the VGA version), and this sounds like a game with great potential. Please support it (and quick) if you're a QfG fan! edit: yessss, successfully backed! --Eino
  18. Love love LOVE those tiny tiny sprites. Colour me hyped - hope the Kickstarter goes well! I'm probably too broke to contribute myself, but there's still a month left so perhaps. Oh, and the bleepy bloops sound nice on the background too. --Eino
  19. I'm surprised there's no thread yet for Game Music Bundle 4. Spelunky, Retro City Rampage, Indie Game: The Movie, Dear Esther and Shoot Many Robots for the $1 tier. And that's pretty much what I had on my bank account. --Eino
  20. Interesting game pick, and the tune is quite good, you could do a lot with this one. --Eino
  21. Voted! I'm happy I found the time to do that. (: --Eino
  22. Picking up a four-year old track to redo? I like that I hope I can find time to give it a listen! --Eino
  23. I've been ill, so unfortunately no track from me this round. I did have a start, and I usually submit whatever I have, but I didn't get any source included yet. --Eino
  24. Hey cool, good luck with the Kickstarter! I just very recently happened to buy Superfrog from GOG.com, and enjoyed the ice level theme from the soundtrack. What would be the deadline, it's not mentioned as far as I can see? --Eino
