Yes, North America and Europe are on separate servers. Sorry Dunther; you're on your own.

It's funny how incredibly broken the game gets once you get the Fire Flower as Bill. That makes it all the more fun though. (it also makes it hair-pullingly hard when you get hit and revert back to the normal gun)

I came to this site from THE COMIC. I was reading it regularly, and when djp eventually linked his new remix site on its front page, I just crossed over. The ridiculous part is that it wasn't until 2007 that I actually started hanging out with everybody via the forums/chat/cons. I'd just been listening to tracks and essentially lurking for 8 years straight.

UMD Gamer Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert!
Arrow replied to Gamer Symphony Orchestra's topic in General Discussion
As is usual with these spring concerts, I'll be there. (I really need to start hitting the winter ones too) -
NECROBUMP This movie comes out next Friday people. http://www.megamanfilm.com If you're in the Washington D.C. area, the DC Anime Club (of which I'm not actually a member) is apparently screening this movie at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library on May 15 at 2pm for free.

I've added you, but as Slut informed me, the one downside to this system is that we have to be on at the same time to actually mutually friend each other.

Hahahaha, I was WAY off. That'll teach me to act like I know what I'm talking about when I'm just guessing.

VVPL5G's my ID. I only just finished the fishing quest prior to quests being open, so I'm still very early level at this, but I'm up for whatever and whoever online if others are willing.

Yeah, it's track one from the Brink of Time album, a remix of CT's main theme. The voiceover says "It's the beginning of a new and excitingly different story", which is... quite different from your memory. But really, there's no other CT remix out there that uses 50's serials voicetracks, so it's gotta be this.

As I stated, I haven't had time to play it, but I did pick it up. What I find odd though is that my Gamestop sold out of the copies it got on Day 1 (besides reserves, thank goodness). I thought this was supposed to be a niche franchise in America. o_O

Like many of you, I have the game pre-ordered and ready to pick up. However, I've got a crapton of homework to do this week and may not be able to play it until Friday at the earliest or so. Can't wait though. I never beat either of the demo quests (though for the first quest, that was more lack of time than difficulty), but I had so much fun that I can't resist the final product.

Okay, at first I thought this looked like a kind of weird thing to do, but then I tried it and lol'd. "DKC 2 - Funky Kong - play only channels 1 and 8." - If DKC2 required loading screens, this would be absolutely perfect. Hell, I kind of want it as a cellphone ring now. "Chrono Trigger - Gonzales' theme - play only channels 1,2,and 6." - Same as the above, really. "Turtles in Time - Sewerage - play only channels 1,2,and 4 at speed of 0.74" - This would be great for a cutscene where the Turtles are all "I KNOW THIS SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE, BUT WE DO THE IMPOSSIBLE *fistbump*" "Street Fighter II Turbo - Blanka - play only channels 2,5,and 8 at pitch of -12.00 and speed of 0.50 (this could be "Jimmy's Theme" for when his mother first lost him)." - Yeah, you pretty much nailed that description. "Final Fantasy VI - Techno de Chocobo - play only channels 2,3,6, and 7." - Final Fantasy VI has CHOCOBO RACING?!

OverClocked After Dark - The Former Thread of Days of Yore

Hey, whatever happened to that Lauren chick? Even if you can't bring her back, I want a return of that OCR N00b segment. -
Potential OCR Meetup: Six Flags America (MD/DC/VA)
Arrow replied to Arrow's topic in General Discussion
Palpable: Yeah, I'd actually prefer a weekday myself. Back when I lived in North Carolina and we occasionally drove north for Kings Dominion trips, we always went on weekdays because you could generally get through the lines for every roller coaster within seconds, especially on Mondays. So if people are fine with taking a day off work, I would much prefer that option. djp: What are your honeymoon dates, for the record? If we do end up deciding to do this on a weekday instead, the latest one possible before the park switches to weekend only would be Tuesday Aug. 24. Either way, I definitely wanna work around everyone's schedules so we can all make it. It'd seem sacrilegious to have an east coast meetup without you there. XD -
So the other day I was thinking, "Since I moved to Maryland, I've lived 20 minutes from a Six Flags, why have I not gone yet?" And then I thought "Hey, there's a bunch of OCR people in the D.C./Maryland/Virginia(/and possibly Philly) area; maybe I can convince them all to come with me and make it a meetup." So here is your CALL TO ACTION. I suggested this on Facebook first just to get some initial thoughts on timing so as not to conflict with Otakon, and Stevo suggested late August, which works for me, although the park is closed for portions of that final week. Saturday the 28th was my assumption as to a specific best date. But since this is an idea that hinges on making sure everyone has the money to go after Otakon drains our pockets, I don't mind a later date. The park is mainly open on weekends only after August, but they stay open all the way through October before closing for the year, so we would still have plenty of dates to choose. (EDIT: But honestly, some of us would prefer a weekday date due to much smaller crowds and faster lines, and the last open weekday is Tuesday August 24) Tickets are $50 + tax a pop, but if at least 15 of us go, we can take advantage of a group discount to knock that price down to $24. That does require the tickets all be purchased at the same time, but I'd be willing to handle that too; I'll just have to trust that everyone will pay me back immediately after I've mailed the tickets off. XD Six Flags America is located in Bowie, MD, and is actually metro-accessible if you're in the WMATA area. So who's interested? EDIT: Plans are finalized guys. The trip will be Sunday August 29 (tomorrow as of this edit), and we'll all meet at Guest Services right when the park opens at 10:30am. Guest Services is right at the front of the park, immediately to the right of all the normal ticket booths. I'll hand out all your tickets there; whether any of you meet up for breakfast or anything beforehand is up to you. We'll browse the park for a few hours and then break for lunch at 1:30pm (we'll decide there whether we're eating in the park or outside). Immediately after lunch, we'll hit up the waterpark for a few hours before going back to the normal park, so bring swimming clothes, towels, etc. We can decide what to do for dinner, if anything, while we're there. The ticket price ended up being $26.54 a pop, so either bring cash to cover that when I give you your ticket, or drop the money into my Paypal account at jingajin@gmail.com. See you all there! Who's coming: Arrow & friend Bahamut & roommate Brushfire & his totally not imaginary wife Ferret Kizyr Level 99 Moguta & friend Palpable Velocifero Possibly coming: Diotrans (for lunch and water park shenanigans)

Dropped $100 for you guys. But only because I worked mad overtime last pay cycle. Expect maybe a quarter of that next year.

Whedon to direct Avengers movie.... Awesome?!!!
Arrow replied to Toadofsky's topic in General Discussion
And also, foot fetish. Whether you're right about seeing a lot of Black Widow or not, get ready to see a hell of a lot of her bare feet for no real reason. -
Well hey, why don't we turn this necro-bump into a discussion about the upcoming entry in the series coming out for 360, PS3, and Steam next month? I'm super excited for it. Info here for anyone who didn't know about it.

Don't forget Cave Story a month from now.

Four pages and not a single "won't my dragon take me away" joke? I'm appalled. Congrats DA.

Are there any games you guys play over and over again?
Arrow replied to atmuh's topic in General Discussion
Earlier in this topic (back on pg. 3 I think), I mentioned Skies of Arcadia, which can't be beat in a day, but still. Now though, I've gotta add Metroid: Zero Mission to the list. That obviously can be beat in less than a day, and as of recently, I tend to 100% it once a month. -
Got Chrono Trigger DS in the mail yesterday. Though now I have to buy a DS. XD (yeah, I know; why the hell don't I already have one?) Thanks much, man.
-
lol, the first boss killed me. I'm ashamed of myself, cause in theory, he shouldn't have even been that hard. I just took a lot of stupid hits. But yeah, this is pretty awesome so far.

Do you listen to soundtracks from games you've never played?
Arrow replied to RETROMAN's topic in General Discussion
Dracula X Chronicles for PSP, my man. It's not expensive to play anymore, thanks to that.Count me in the Chrono Cross camp. I heard the entire OST at least half a year before I touched the game, and I still haven't made it past the first two hours of gameplay since. -
How are those save batteries doing?
Arrow replied to Avatar of Justice's topic in General Discussion
Generally all cartridge games use watch batteries to power their save RAM, Sinewav. The difficulty in replacing them varies from system to system; depends on which ones solder theirs in or not and so on.
