  1. Wow man. I'm glad our site as a whole could make something that had this much of a connection to you. Seriously, thanks for sharing.
  2. Hey, got your PM. Work has been insane this weekend, so bug me later this week if you still need a review?

  3. Argle, for what it's worth, Endless Stair was on the very top of my vote list during staff voting on the contest tracks. DAT ATMOSPHERE.
  4. Just hit Xarnax/Calum's bossa nova track. Big stupid grin on my face, mostly because this is the kind of music I grew up hearing as a kid at family events 'n stuff.
  5. As an owner of this excellent bundle, I heartily recommend it as being worth every penny.
  6. Gonna be out of the country for a month during the middle of the compo. Not good for my ability to remix things. Also, I've got a few projects I want to finish before I commit to anything else.
  7. Huzzah, mission accomplished! Pendulum is a huge influence on my music, and I know Justin (Nutritious) takes a lot of inspiration from them as well. Not sure where OA's main inspiration was at for this song, but all his extra percussion, filler synths, orchestral stuff, and of course DAT GUITAR made Savage Triumph a song that we're all super proud to have created.
  8. oboy. I guess that would mean I'm up for my team? I don't know if I can find the time to do this or not...we'll see!
  9. Augh! I've been wanting to get some more Waves stuff for a while now, but I'm literally out of money. Sad panda is sad.
  10. I realized after everything was released that everything else on the album that I mastered sounded great, but my own stuff was a bit hollow. I think that comes from the fact that I mixed and then mastered everything on the same speakers, and wasn't as ready to get my own stuff to that level at the time. I've matured a lot as an engineer since then, but I'm still very fond of this remix. Turn it up loud enough and the frequency holes go away, I promise!
  11. Not early, no. That's the rights what was bought by them donations, sir! Don't worry, I'm pretty sure this thing is coming out either next week or the one after that, so you'll get your fill of FF6 incredawesomradness soon!
  12. Studio revamp time! Got me a new Ikea desk, and added another monitor, although I did discover the difference between "active" and "passive" DisplayPort adapters a bit ($15) too late. Protip: if you want to use more than two monitors, you'll need an active adapter. Oh, and I'm finally able to integrate my MPK49 into my actual studio setup, instead of an old, clunky Yamaha electric piano. Anyhoo, here's mah gear in all of its gloriousness! And of course, by "gloriousness" I mean "relative austerity."
  13. Yeah, I didn't realize this until recently either, but that sounds like it's exactly what's gonna happen!
  14. It's sparse, but I feel like this works pretty well. While Ice Cap tends to shine best in a very full arrangement, I still liked the little subtle stuff in here. That re-arrangement of the lead via the gameboy synth was well done, too. Nice work!
  15. Ooh, can't wait to see those pics! I've been thinking about using a closed-loop watercooling system for my next full build, so I'd love to see how you did with it.
  16. What Skryp said, although I should elaborate and say that one of the best ways to grow as an artist here on OCR's forums is to take part in some of the competitions. You'll get a lot of feedback, become part of the community, and that way you'll have people who WANT to help you improve as an artist. Also, the Workshop forums are a great place to get feedback, too. But yeah, basically just keep doing it and trying to find ways to improve. It's taken me 7 years to get to where I'm at, and I already had a technical AND a musical background to begin with.
  17. I listened to this album like three times yesterday, and can safely say that I fully endorse these sounds!
  18. In my defense, this is my favorite OST of all time. So I think I'm entitled to a bit o' emotion. Again, fantastic work!
  19. I'm a big fan of my Akai MPK49, which has decent action, tons of built-in arpeggiator features, is built like a tank, all the knobs and buttons you could wish for, and even includes some drum pads for that sort of thing. They do also make a 61-key version with even more bells and whistles.
  20. Mine's pretty basic: I try to be flexible in the styles of music I create. May end up using different aliases for different styles at some point, but this is my main "brand name," as it were.
  21. Not sure why my track's still green--you both have the last thing I sent in, I'm sure of it.
  22. I hear these are pretty cool: http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01996/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02543/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02371/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02303/
  23. If someone else wants my track, tell 'em to go for it. I still plan on doing it, but I'm not going to have any WIP in by the 1st.
