  1. I gave it a listen the other day. Awesome track.Intro is nice, I like how it slowly builds-up. Then kaboom! Growling bass synths, and sweet atmospheric piano-playing. It definitely belongs in the H.O.T.G.A album. BP Filter cutoff was freakin tight at the 5:00 mark, I've gotta remember that. Good stuff! Very enjoyable.
  2. Yeah same here. That's why I assumed that the critics were right when they were talking crap about the movie. Silly me....critics suck these days.
  3. I can't believe what I'm reading in this thread. Speed Racer the Movie was actually "good"? I hate critics.
  4. hey this is nice! Awesome remixes!
  5. hahahahah....lol. Quite funny, but very strange. Why hasn't Mephisto said a word? Hmmmm....
  6. By no means was I being sarcastic. From your point of view I can probably see why you felt that way, but honestly I wanted to praise Doug for posting his original post about composers/perfomers. It really made sense to me. Next time i'll say something about your post, to prevent you from leaving you wondering.
  7. Yeah I don't even know him, the best I know about him is the cool remix collaboration of "Lovers Reef," but he obviously seems to understand that I in no shape or form, purposely tried to mock you.
  8. Yeah exactly. Some composers perform, but they rarely do. WelI I know to the least (40%) of composers don't perform. Has anyone ever seen a performer that is just butt-ugly? If so, rarely. Why not? Because this isn't what the public wants. Bingo! Same can be applied to composers/performers. I'm really sorry that you feel that way. Seriously. I didn't mean to upset anyone.
  9. As everyone knows it is very difficult to become recognized as a composer these days since there are so many around. So what do composers do? They allow there music to be performed by someone else and in turn they receive credit and more. So that being said I am not going to type up a list of composers who have taken this course, because that would just be taken up too much of my time. I'm sure you personally don't take a liking too people that choose to do this, but remember everyone is there own person.
  10. You are obviously thinking way to much of yourself. I have said nothing personally against you. You would just love that wouldn't you, fact is you have enough "knowledge" to talk for both of us. Take a look at this thread it's got you all over it.
  11. What I said was just a general statement of what I feel about the matter, that being said I'm sure some will disagree with the me. Probably, but reasons for a composer not being capable varies. I personally find this to be highly likely in todays world.
  12. wow Doug. I'm seriously thinking about framing those words on my wall. Composers create what they're feeling, and performers must accurately deliver those feelings. (Well in my own words.) Just because performer's perform, doesn't mean that there behind the scenes creating wonderful musical compositions. Many people make this mistake, which is so sad.
  13. whoops didn't mean to throw the "topic" off. BUT..... This statement pretty much sums up this thread, I'm sorry for even posting.
  14. Geeesssh. Too many words. My eyes! You must be a walking dictionary.
  15. This is interesting. You were scoring a videogame you say? The tracks pretty much sound like videogame material. What kind of game? Beats me. Too bad opportunity was missed. Production is decent, arrangement is excellent. Good job.
  16. Yep. This combination could be dangerous. Excellent. Exactly. This is why failure in directing such a movie like this is intolerable.
  17. Maybe not. There's still hope though. Someone is bound to make a awesome movie, probably somewhere in the distant future though. Too bad....at least soon it'll be in the works, probably will be released in 2009.
  18. This is true, but that's virtually the case with every fantasy/game-orienated movie. Producers should make more game-based movies, I can literally count the movies that's game-based. There isn't a lot plus all of the movies suck;usually completely different from the game. Which is probably why videogamers usually disgust game-based movies. When someone throws together a disgraceful movie like Super Mario Bros., I would be scared to even step foot into a theather screening a movie dealing with a game. Maybe if producers continue to make game-based movies, they'll get better over time. Hopefully. "Halo" on the other hand looks good.
  19. Denzel Washington? Now that would be interesting providing he's never been in any superhero movie. I don't think so anyway. He's a very good actor he could probably pull it off, I've enjoyed most if not, every movie he's been in to date.
  20. You're not alone. He's a good actor, but does he have to be in every superhero movie? The clip after the credits seemed cheesy to me, maybe it's because I automatically heard his voice and my direct attention was shot to oblivion. I'm like "No they wouldn't pick him" but sure enough it was him. Samuel = Nick Furry Of course. Who else could they choose?
  21. Yeah exactly. There's certainly nothing wrong with changing the pitch. It just seemed a little too noticeable. Bending it faster would work just fine.
  22. I usually don't take a liking towards this kind of music, and this is no exception. However, arrangement and production (mostly) is solid, which makes it quite enjoyable. Well if I we're playing a video game. One flaw around :45 dealing with the lead synth, the pitch seems to have changed drastically. Making an off-key sound, see if you can fix that. Thats about it. Overall I think you've managed to create a classic Commodore mix. Nice work.
  23. I know...the genre name is ridiculous.
  24. Whoops! Sorry dude. Hmmm? What else is free? Anyone who digs progressive music. Check this out. No one beats Spain when it comes to Progressive.
