I loved the Genesis version of Aladdin.
-
So that was the first ytpoop? Wow, it sucked. Where's teh funniez? At least the 9000 vid has some lulz.
-
That's already been dis-proven. In fact, you can go disprove it right now if you want. After 3 or so hits, you should be able to get out of it with air control.

Here, I can't say that I agree with you. My point was that they were the best SNES graphics, at the time. And they were. I don't care if some people didn't like them because its too shiny. That wasn't my point. So, DKC still gets a point for being above average. No, no, no. I thought about Sonic 2 before I typed this. In Oil Ocean, yes, you did fly around at high speeds in the air, but it wasn't player-controlled. And your Atari example clearly doesn't relate. I'm convinced that DKC's adrenaline-fueled Barrel Cannon sequences were previously nonexistent in the platformer. So, DKC still gets a point for being above average. Super Metroid came out in 1994?! Son of a..........fine. I concede. I knew I was going out on a limb when I typed that, but I gave it a chance anyway. Dang it Coop! You got me again. Earthworm Jim does possess a boat-load of charm. I concede again. Conversely, understand that I wouldn't knock someone if they didn't like the DKC series. I just want them to have good reasons, and not just because they're riding the "blind-hatred bandwagon." Just wanted to make sure everybody knows that. While I'm quite sure that my points about graphics and previously unseen platformer obstacles are fact, I do admit that my last 2 points strayed too far into subjective territory. I shouldn't have done that, when I just raged about objective-based arguing a post or 2 earlier. I'm sorry about that, and I'm gonna try harder next time. I had some objective points seph, so You get one too:

Don't forget 8-way run. That's pretty important.

Care to point out any other platformer that had better graphics before DKC's release? And I don't mean from a subjective, artistic standpoint. I mean another platformer with pre-rendered, "3-D" graphics (something that hadn't been done before in a platformer). Care to point out another platformer that had a series of floating, round containers that shot out it's protagonist like a canon, and it was player-controlled? Care to point out a game that came out in 1994 that had a more influential soundtrack? Care to point out a game released in 1994 that had more charm (i.e. a fake credits, or should I say kredits, scene)? Now hush.

Bleck and The wingless know what's up!
-
How laughable. You consider your opinion of the game's qualities to be objective! I am getting so fricken fed up with posters who think their opinion should be upheld as fact! If you're going to talk about objectivity (Facts, supported with undeniable evidence), you'd better fricking know what that term means!

This isn't pathetic. If you're one of these people who genuinely didn't enjoy DKC, I'm not going to judge you. I might find your taste in games questionable, but it's not like you're a bad person because of it. Now this is pathetic. If you're one of these people (and most DKC haters are), then I have no respect for you. Gecko, DKC was anything but average for its time. And yes, I'm speaking objectively. If you can't see that, you're rather short-sighted.
-
You and everybody else are better off ignoring that. As with what happened with the "exclusive" Viewtiful Joe and Resident Evil 4, so shall the "exclusive" Star Wars Characters switch consoles. Not only that, but Namco has a track record for coming up with ludicrous amounts of DLC that's most likely locked in the disc already (see Beautiful Katamari). And even if all of the above didn't happen, who else would you believe goes right next to Yoda/Vader on the roster? And why in the world has a single person not already unlocked that character yet? It just doesn't make sense, unless you consider Vader/Yoda becoming DLC. As I said before, It's an inevitability.
-
It's not just a possibility, but its an inevitability. Just watch. That blank spot in the roster will be filled up soon.
-
What makes you say that? On a different note, I never felt the need to include Obi-Wan in the "Bad*** Jedi" category. I just don't see it.
-
moar like dinosorman, m i rite? I tend to avoid using characters with stances. They scare me.
-
I think the origianl DKC is the worst of the series. But, that's like saying 1 chick is the ugliest out of 3 uber-sexy chicks. Yeah, the "DKC series is overrated" bandwagon is pathetic. I am 100% serious when I say that DKC2 is one of the best games ever made. Soooo many good memories...*Daydreams*

Ah. Nothing like a little validation. I think some posters owe me an apology (if something like that exists on the internet, that is).

Zero Punctuation (Hilarious) Game Reviews

IT IS TIME. FOR. THE NEW REVIEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWW!!!!!!!!! Ninja Gaiden 2 Great amount of humor in this one! Bravo Yahtzee! -
How has no one mentioned the band's real name yet? They're called Studioforce. All their songs are concocted and perfected in a sound room, and no one (except the drummer and singer) can replicate the notes in real life. Observe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdMIQ1jfJm0 Watch as the singer is compelled to distract the audience from the horrible performance of the lead guitarist. It's simply pathetic. Then, any other noteworthy sound is drowned out by the drummer clanging as loud as he can. Now, that isn't to say that their stuff doesn't sound good in the album. Granted, it all sounds the same, but it is frickin sweet. But this band has no talent when it comes to performing.

Mega Man Coming to Wii VC. No, not THAT one

Agreed. It's going to take that much longer now until MM2 comes out. -
Once you practice Critical Impacts in training, it actually becomes quite simple to do. I've never pulled one off online, but I did manage to use one in Tower of Exploitation. And no, I didn't cheese my way into it with Yun-Seong! The silly AI just blocked too much.

Don't worry, Atma and Bleck do the work of 10 trollers! *Hunkers down for flaming reply, shotgun cocked and ready* -
Yesterday, I was descending in Tower of Exploitation. I was cheesing my way with 2 Astaroths , using the 1[A],A combo. I got all the way down to floor 20, with just one of my Astaroths left, and about 1/5 of my life left. I earned the appropriate achievement, but Kilik killed me before I could acquire the appropriate treasure chest. And he only had a sliver of health left! *cries*

It's okay that it didn't come out today. We got Sonic for the Master System instead! Isn't that great? -
Eh, this game was sort of fun for a few hours. The controls are quite terrible. Why they chose those "special" hidden characters is beyond me...

2 reasons why you should get the 360 version: 1) 2) I enjoy it when the more vexing individuals of a message board finally get it right.
