  1. Tyrian! That's great! I was actually planning on doing an orchestral arrangement of this same theme. It's great to hear a Tyrian remix here. The game definitely doesn't get enough attention. I really liked the electronic parts, and the inclusion of the game's sound effects was a nice touch! The drums do seem like they need some more work, but I'm not an expert on that, so I can't give you any advice. However, I can suggest that you substitute the violin instrument with something else. Judging by the sound of it, it doesn't have the proper attack for such a fast-paced melody. It's good for
  2. I'm one of the 3300 subscribers, haha. =D Great job! I do appreciate metal, and I always look forward to your arrangements. I hope you'll submit something to OCReMix too!
  3. Bossanova! I love this! I especially liked the piano and the percussion. It's really enjoyable, thanks a lot for arranging it! I'm definitely downloading this and putting it on my dinner party playlist. XD Good job!
  4. A great beat and a very enjoyable listen! =D I'm a failure at mixing, but I did notice a couple of things I would change if I were you. I'd pan the guitar a little more to the right. If you're listening to the song with your headphones, it's a little strange to hear most of the stuff in the first part of the song through your left headphone. Also, I'd use less reverb on the piano. All the other instruments sound more like they're played in a small room, so the piano sticks out a little too much. Then again it might be the samples you're using. Otherwise, the song sounds fine to me. I hope
  5. Great remix, you guys! It makes me really happy to see that One Must Fall is not completely forgotten. =) The track itself is really energetic. I really enjoyed it, so thanks again for contributing. Keep up the good work!
  6. Wow, you've got a wonderful and really smooth voice! I can imagine it's pretty hard to sing live without a microphone, so your performance in the video was stellar. I'm not planning on doing any vocal tracks in the near future, but I'll definitely keep you in mind should I need a vocalist. I'm not sure if you're new here or not, but welcome to the community in any case. =D
  7. Hehe, to be honest, I had a feeling you might post a comment! Thanks a lot! Don't feel obligated to comment just because I'm the remixer, though. =D I agree about some of the instruments being a little mechanical. The piano is SO hard to work with if the song is mostly quiet, because the samples don't show much timbre variation (same goes for the harp). I wish I had the equipment to record that part myself. It would be so much easier. As for the general mixing, I have to admit I'm terrible at it. Also, I don't have any decent headphones. I'll try to mess around with some equalizer settings,
  8. Hey everyone! It's been a looong time since I made a non-project arrangement, so here we go! My new policy is to remix underdog music, which probably means I'm condemning myself to empty threads and dusty mixes. But hey, it's still better than remixing Aerith's theme! (Don't get me wrong--I like it, but not as remixing material.) Anyway, you can listen to (and/or download) my arrangement of Godom Lullaby from Paladin's Quest here: http://www.reverbnation.com/jakacibejarchangel UPDATE: A more polished version. And here's the video with the source track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AArRI
  9. I'm not familiar with the Assassin's Creed franchise, but this track is really beautiful! Jillian, your voice is so incredibly pristine. It's wonderful. Also, kudos to zircon for such a simple yet incredibly enchanting arrangement (which I assume was his work?). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  10. I'm sure he's OK. His most recent status update on Facebook is from last Friday, and he said he was going somewhere close to where he lives. I think that's what he said. My Swedish is not perfect, and I'm not that familiar with Finnish geography, so I can't pinpoint his exact location. =D In any case, no need to panic just yet.
  11. OK, just to clarify--we're a completely normal European country. No wars, no violence, no crazy laws, and no tyrants, but a lot of forests and a beautiful river that was featured in the second Narnia movie. =D There's no hand-chopping in Europe. At least not legally enforced! Let's get back to Donkey Kong, this is not the place to discuss wacky politics. =D Who's making the trailer that's usually released on Youtube before the album comes out?
  12. Are you crazy? My imagination's way out of control as it is. I like being lucid. =D Oh yeah, that was a little unclear. I meant the whole tracklist images, not just the thumbnails. It's good to know they'll be used for a greater purpose, though! The artwork looks very original, judging by what we've seen so far!
  13. I can't believe you fell for that one. XD XD XD Where do you think I live, in the Middle Ages? HAHAHA. Oh, how nice of you to do that! I think it would be good to have those images included in the artwork folder, though. I love the "personalized" pictures next to the song titles!
  14. I for one was completely lucid while remixing. Where I live, it's not wise to use drugs. According to our legislation, you get one hand chopped off if you get caught. I'm not kidding. The tracklist looks awesome! That must have been a lot of work! Are those images meant just for this thread or are they part of the album artwork?
  15. I've heard this track a hundred times before the album was released, and it never gets stale. This is the kind of soundscape I dream of achieving every time I open my sequencer and load my sample libraries. This arrangement is compelling as heck and downright hypnotizing, and I wasn't even familiar with the Metroid franchise when I heard this. I can only imagine the enthusiasm of real fans when they get to hear this piece. Beautiful, beautiful orchestration. To all the people who love epic orchestral arrangements--I urge you to check out this track as well as Sam's original music on his webs
  16. I've downloaded this! Thank you so much! I really appreciate all the hard work you put in this library, and I will definitely check out your other work. It looks like it's going to be more than worth the measly 20 dollars. =D Thanks again!
  17. I'm not sure which VST you're using. A cheaper VST will be a lot harder to manipulate and won't sound as realistic. However, there are some tricks I can tell you about. First, like Rozo said, if there's a sustain setting in your VST plugin, use it. Second, use more reverb and increase the room size. Be careful not to make it too muddy, though! Third, use more bass notes if you want to achieve a grander sound. And HOLD them for as long as you can. Again, you have to be careful not to make everything muddy. Your VST sounds fine, though. Try adjusting the reverb settings. Good luck!
  18. I've only played the first part, although I've never finished it. I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong, but at some point I just got stuck, and then I stopped playing for a while and forgot about the game completely. =D I found the music pretty good, so I would be willing to participate in the project, but I'm kind of swamped right now. If this is a far future thing (like a year from now), then count me in. =) Some of the songs are on my remix to-do list, though. So eventually you might be able to hear my orchestral arrangement of it.
  19. Måste säga att det här är otroligt fantastiskt. =D I've also checked some of the other songs and it looks like a really great "project" you've got going on. And you're from Sweden! That's always a plus for me. =D But seriously, the Coke Bottle song is wonderfully imaginative. It's wonderful to see that music really is all around us. Congratulations to Audio Hills, and to the other people involved in this as well. I'll be paying attention to your site from now on. =)
  20. This is really great! I enjoyed it a lot and I can definitely see it in a Final Fantasy game. It's already fantastic the way it is, but if I were you I'd add some more instruments or some more percussion (especially in the breakdown part at 0:42 - some quick, but gentle electronic percussion would be really nice). But that's just what I would do with the theme. It's not something you really need to consider. =) I was wondering if you maybe had a download link somewhere? I'd love to put this on my mp3 player! =D Anyway, great job!
  21. I've only listened to Remnants of the Day now, but I need to post this before I forget. The song is really wonderful, and I love the fact that the arrangement is so minimalistic and how all the instruments have a very close, intimate chamber sound. It's definitely something I'll keep on my playlist for a very long time. I'll listen to your other tracks now. Great job!
  22. This is great! More Lord of the Rings nostalgia! I really hope you finish this, and soon. I for one know a bunch of people (including myself, of course) who would love to hear the album. The Shire theme sounds particularly nice. I think I'll post this link to my Facebook page. =D Great job, my friend!
  23. I play the piano and I do indeed keep to myself most of the time. I'm not antisocial, though. People tell me I'm very talkative if I'm in the right company. However, I'm not sure if personality really has anything to do with it. I mean, I started playing the piano when I was 4 or 5, and I don't think I had the personality I have now. Maybe you still choose on a subconscious level. Interesting topic, by the way.
  24. I knew my post would be misconstrued, which is exactly why I usually don't say anything in situations like this one. I do not whine, because that doesn't solve anything. I do not regret my decision to leave everything else on the back burner in order to finish my track. In fact, I still think it was the right thing to do, because I made a commitment here to finish my mix before the deadline, and I did it because I respected Emunator both as a person and as a project director. It's true that at the end of the day, it's his decision whether to cut someone or to be patient, but frankly, him bein
  25. This has gone on long enough. I'm very, very angry, also because of some stuff that's happening to me in real life, so I guess this stupid thread was the last straw. And now I need to vent. I find it extremely unfair that most of the remixers on this project did their work well before the deadline, while a few other couch potatos are holding back this whole album with not a care in the world. It's been TWO MONTHS, and that's enough to make an entire remix from scratch, not put finishing touches on something that's already 90% done. I don't understand why I, for example, had to flunk an exam,
