First of all, I think its awesome that a CD and some art are a possibility. That's cool. I feel like adding a quick comment section under each track would be a good way to exchange feedback on the finished tracks. Feedback is encouraging (mostly) and it promotes growth as a composer, especially someone new like me, so streamlining that process means more of a good thing. Anyone else feel the same way?

Hey Fishy, I requested your source, and though you didn't like it, I really do, and I REALLY liked what you did with it! I'll ipod it for sure, unfinished or not. So thanks for stickin it out, at least one person appreciates it, lol. Im also interested in your recording setup, what you use and such, if you don't mind divulging. Thanks!

I wasnt sure I would finish, but something actually came up that kept me from going to work today allowing me to get a decently finished version of Chocobos Theme. True story, lol. So I made it, though it was a close call. I also hope we have a good turnout, I'd like to hear at least one of the songs I requested...

I was assigned the Chocobos Theme and immediately knew I wanted to do it in a minor key and make it medievil-ish or bardish or something. I didn't think I could pull it off, but I came up with a good concept for the song so I stuck with it. It is called The Chocobos Ride at Dawn. This is the afore mentioned concept track I threw together. Sadly, the concept track I came up with is ALL I have come up with so far. Its just a drum track and a few orchestral tracks played in different combinations, Stupid busy summers. Anyway, there it is. Wanted to post something at least...

Just put a few more hours into this one, its been an on and off project for the past year and a bit. A friend of mine just checked this one out and praised it highly. Figured I'd throw it up here for you all to hear. I host my mp3s on box.net, HERE is the link to my WIPs. You are welcome to check any of it out, the mp3 up for discussion on this thread is "Megaman 3 - Geminizer 2.1 mp3" I don't feel its at submission level now, it might be a ways off, but I think the potential is there. Like where its going? What should I do next? Thanks all!

I'm in the middle of moving, can't wait to get back to this one once I get set up again... -
I agree. I have done a lot of ocr sets for fun at home, I would love to see (or do) something live along these lines...

Megaman 3 - Get a Weapon metal remix WIP
The Biznut replied to The Biznut's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Much thanks for the responses guys. I'll work on the stuff you suggest when I get the time. I usually wont touch my work for a while, then go hard at it for a whole day or something. Good ideas for sure. I haven't done much panning at all and I will work on the drums. Theres a kit I play on sometimes that I absolutely love the sound of, and I have always wanted to record some good samples from it. I might get around to that... Is that a good way to go? I don't have the skills to pull this off live (double kicking...) Whats out there for drum samples that would do this justice? Any particular product I should look at? What do you recommend? As far as my rig goes, this particular version was recorded on my old Cort guitar through my oldschool digitech RP200 into my MicroBR at an appropriate BPM, then imported into a track I threw together in FLStudio. I don't have a ton of money to spend on upgrading. I do have a presonus firebox, but I was having trouble using my firewire express card on my lappy and getting it to work, so until I figure that out, thats out of the question. I do own a BOSE Tonematch mixer which I just found out can be used as a recording mixer for a computer rig. I have yet to try that. I was thinking of investing in Komplete 5, 399 seems good for all you get there. Is the included guitar rig any good? What else would you guys suggest? Are guitar plugins on my computer a better option than an external effects pedal? I appreciate any guidance I get. Thanks in advance! -
I've been working on this WIP for a while. I in the process of rerecording the guitar tracks to clean this up, what I am posting is a few weeks old. The going has been slow however, and I have it handy, I thought I would upload this and share this version, this is the version where I decided I was perfectly happy with the composition of it. So in my mind, the composition aspect is complete. Megaman 3 - I Can Haz Weapon As stated before, I am recording new takes of these tracks to clean it up. I obviously need to establish what I am doing for a solo, what is currently recorded is just a mashup of stuff. I do like the raw feel of it though. SOOOO I don't want any feedback telling me I should fix the solo, ok? I know that, lol. Ideas for a solo are totally welcome. Any other feedback is welcome. I LOVE the composition of this song, Absolutely get pumped up everytime I hear this track, I love it. I love this version too, its raw and messy and that adds a certain character, especially to me. I don't have a bassline in this version, or any other version I have. Do you think it is necessary for making this track awesome? I feel like I should, like I'm obligated or whatever. Enjoy!

Valkyrie Profile mix- first try, help?
The Biznut replied to Artemis's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Hi Artemis. I'm a bit of a noob too, so first of all, keep it up! I like the sound of this, I think some of the flute parts in the background, the ones that flutter around a bit, they could be brought into the mix just a hair more, and there is lots happening in the higher frequency at times, it gets a bit too muddy there. Hopefully you garnish some more expert advice here from some others too! -
Grab a friend and play Silkworm. That game was lots of fun. The first stage music begs me to remix it everytime I hear it. TMNT 2 also!

I had to work last night, missed it! Last week was my first, OHC's are awesome. Really motivating when you are in a group like that.

I'm responsible for both of those tracks, Tallon Overworld 2, and the Snowboard Kids track. mwahaha. I'm really looking forward to hear what they sound like! Likewise, I'm curious who requested the Chocobo Theme. I have a concept track down I might post soon just to get some ideas on where to go with it from there. I have high hopes!
