Yeah. Well, yes and no. The current plan is to implement a custom, admin/staff-only system of structured, agreed on tags that would be maintained & displayed on the mix page, as you say, and then opening up tagging via the forum threads to the community. Thoughts/concerns?

If 2010 ended tomorrow, I'd still be pretty damn happy/impressed, but oh baby, there's plenty to be released, mixes and albums, in the next three months. Plus there's site upgrades/functionality that, while overdue at this point, should still see the light of day this year.

If anyone wants to compile a master list, preferably grouped by time sig & with links to OCR song pages (if available) and YouTubes, it's possible we could find a way to track this in our database at some point...

Signed it. I do have a general reluctance towards signing petitions, of any kind, but Internet censorship is some scary stuff.

Getting close to being exiled to the Siberia of OffTop But seriously, folks... I've got no problem with people who don't like profanity in songs. Well, maybe a small problem, just because I've personally always found actual concepts & intents much more offensive than colorful language, but obviously a lot of people take issue with explicit lyrics. That's fine. But in review threads for mixes, we're looking for feedback on that specific mix. If you're gonna shit (!) on anything & everything that has profanity, then you're not reacting to each specific mix as much as you are stating a personal preference, and the thread isn't about you. It's about the mix, and what people think about it, yourself included. It's not the place to proselytize or to take potshots at other artists or other mixes by saying they've got "something to learn," etc. That's the nature of Larry's objection and the reasoning behind the thread split, and that's a message & rationale that should be fairly clear.

Well, I sorta came at the whole thing loving multiple genres to begin with, hence the emphasis, but I still find that OCR has expanded my horizons in terms of instrumental genres, since most of the other music I listen to outside of OCR has vocals. Also, nitpick, but I somewhat object to the form of the question - I truly hope it's not a past tense deal, strictly, and that we are all STILL being influenced, and will continue to be

A shame it wasn't a podcast interview as we had a lot of fun talking w/ Kerry, and a lot of that (understandably) had to be cut for a coherent article; CBC rocks for doing the series in the first place, and treating it with depth!

Should be fixed, thanks. Any interest in officially joining staff in a data quality capacity? Forums > Search > Scroll Down However, we're strongly leaning towards making tags more official and implementing them outside of vbulletin, then opening vbulletin up so that users can tag threads themselves...
