Here are some Android programs I use frequently, plus some of my favorite games. (Sorry if I duplicate some suggestions!) Apps: Battery Widget Reborn (beta) (free, has a paid stable version). I like having the perma-notification, which I have set to show "empty at $TIME". Google Chrome (free). Hey, it's a solid browser. Also recommended: ALL the Google apps, particularly Quickoffice. Firefox (free). A little slow on older hardware, compared to Chrome, but still solid. Fing (free). A neat set of networking tools. I fire this up a lot at home when I want to ssh into something, and can't remember each device's IP. (Why, yes. I am lazy. Hacker's Keyboard (free). A quintessential keyboard if you regularly use your device as an ssh client. K-9 Mail (free). An open-source mail client. Great if you don't like the stock e-mail app and don't rely on Gmail. Retroarch (free). (Best with: MOGA, Wii Remote with Classic Controller) A great all-in-one emulation app. Total Commander (free). If you're serious about file management, I can't recommend this app enough. Games: Gunman Clive (paid). (Best with: Wii Remote or MOGA) It's a lightweight Mega Man! 20 levels of mostly-brown fun. Osmos (paid, demo available). (Best with: just a tablet) A beautiful, zen-like puzzle game. Gets a bit actiony at times, but patience is always key. Riptide GP 2 (paid, optional IAP) (best with: just a phone, or MOGA). I missed out on classics like WaveRacer 64, so this is the game that got me into water racers. Gets a bit level-grindy in difficulty. IAP for in-game currency, but I cleared the game without it. Sonic 1, Sonic 2, and Sonic CD. (paid) (Best with: Wii Remote or MOGA). Brilliant ports of their source games; these all use Christian "Taxman" Whitehead's "Retro Engine". Sonic 2 has a "restored" Hidden Palace and smoother Special Stage. Super Hexagon. (paid) (Best with: just a phone or tablet, or MOGA shoulder buttons) It's Super Hexagon. . World of Goo (paid, demo available). (Best with: just a tablet) I find the game more enjoyable on a touchscreen. I'll edit this with additional favorites later.

finished Nutritious - Cave Story Final Battle - The Unbroken
Strife89 replied to Nutritious's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
EFFING. AWESOME. Not much else to add. The mid-point conjures up so many images and memories that I cried tears of joy. -
finished Pokémon Mystery Dungeon- Mt. Blaze Remix
Strife89 replied to DoubleJoeSeven's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
This remix just screams adventure. I love how it starts off slow, menacing even; and the transition segues well into the main dungeon theme. Brings back memories of my first run through PMD, as a Mudkip (Moltres owned me anyway for a few tries). -
finished Donkey Kong Country "Percussion Hijinx"
Strife89 replied to Jean Of mArc's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Holy crap, I love this. It brings back memories and adds a wonderful layer of "newness". I'm all for seeing a submission. -
finished Power of Celtic hardcore remix
Strife89 replied to Lashmush's topic in Post Your Original Music!
It's interesting, to be sure, an I like the Celtic instrumentation, very nice .... The only thing I can really grip about is that .... drum pad, I guess you would call it? .... that crescendos at about 45 seconds in. It gets MUCH too loud, in my opinion. Other than that, seems like a solid mix to me. -
OCR Mascots: Class of Summer 2010 - Voting Closed
Strife89 replied to djpretzel's topic in General Discussion
My votes are as follows. Phoenix Wright Zidane Red (from Pokémon) -
I like the singing, but some of the instrumentation (particularly the electric guitar) sounds a little raw. Good work so far, though.

wip Celestial Phantasm - Boss Battle (req. help)
Strife89 replied to Grayburg's topic in Post Your Original Music!
Holy cow, this is awesome. I can definitely see myself fighting a boss to this theme, especially in an action-RPG. -
FINISHED: Power Rangers (SNES) Factory Remix
Strife89 replied to WillRock's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Finally someone decides to try their hand at the SNES MMPR soundtrack! And this is, without a doubt, the best way to kick off this game's introduction to OCR! Spectacular mix! -
Super Mario World - Requiem (Castle)
Strife89 replied to Chernabogue's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
I have no idea what the intro source is, but it sounds nice and very final-dungeony (Ganondorf's Castle, anyone? ). I can almost picture Ganondorf playing this as Mario plows through Bowser's Castle, both villains sitting in wait for the plumber's arrival. Much of the mix works quite well, but the ending is a bit abrupt. Fix that, and this track'll be a winner to my ears. -
I've never played Chrono Trigger (although every day my desire for a cartridge grows), but I've grown quite fond of a number of remixes of its music on this site. Your take on Corridor of Time is no exception.

mod-review [FFIX Crystal World] Weeping Shards
Strife89 replied to Kenogu Labz's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Very nice; it's quite atmospheric. I hear nothing wrong with the sample quality (could be that my speakers aren't top-notch, but hey). -
Sonic 3 Remix "Entranced by Crystals" (WIP4)
Strife89 replied to Constromlie's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
I listened to WIP6. Quite the nice opening, and the buildup works well. -
Beyond the Western Isle: New World/Fantasy Track
Strife89 replied to JaredCowing's topic in Post Your Original Music!
I don't really like the opening, but near :50 is where I start smiling at the music. -
an original track - 'industry standard'
Strife89 replied to halc's topic in Post Your Original Music!
This one's got a good, atmospheric feel to it. I like it. -
I started the song and immediately had a vivid mental image of a broken party, reuniting at last to kick some tail. This song is amazing, and it's staying in my collection.

I'm liking this one. It truly captures the feeling of being in a disaster area.

Excellent work. The monologue works well in this piece.
