  1. A great dance beat. This mix pretty much explains itself and I really dig the idea. Gotta love the vocal at the beginning, as that sold it for me. Oh oh oh yeah!
  2. The piano rocks, but I can't help but think that some more of the original source could have been used. Not the best that has been done, but it's still great and a good ReMix of my fav. stage from this game.
  3. Ohhhhhh yeahhhhhh........now this is chill. The Mix is so soothing a relaxing, and the source is woven in beautifully. Protricity made a heck of an impression with his first ReMix and it's no surprise that this was only the first of many. Keep rocking.
  4. I don't know about Pirates of the Caribbean, cause that was darker and a bit more....pirate-ty. But I can easily imagine a ship leaving the docks with a light-hearted sea crew. A great little tune that's perfect for doing a (jib) jig on the deck and drinking good rum to other sea shantys. Well done, you've earned your "DJ" title as far as I'm concerned.
  5. Gotta hand it to you, bLiNd, you know how to rock a beat. This has got to be the best tune on DKC and hearing it in full techo style is cool. While "Permutation" had an epic (as in style, not degree of awesomeness) sound to it, this has more of an "original" feel and it still makes me smile. The chorus (well, I call it chorus and don't care if that's right) at 2:48 is truly amazing.
  6. First, I agree. This is a great piece DJP! It does focus on the actual theme and I like that about this mix. Second, I have noticed that, and while I don't have 100% anwsers, my guess would be the same as DKC2's soundtrack names. Some places name the track on the level or something like that, and others have the real name. This causes confusion and most people take the one that sounds the best. This is probably something like that. Like I said, that's just my guess.
  7. Fantastic....the xylo beat was probably the part of this and bravo on adding real chello to it. You know, a mix that makes me like the source a little more than I used to makes it greater than some other mixes do to me. The fact that I never cared about the original until I heard this says something. Good job.
  8. Okay, so it's not ZOMG! awesome, but for a track whose source did basically nothing, this seems to be at least a bit better than that. I don't know what melody people are looking for, cause I heard a nice beat (bomp-bomp-bing, bomp-bomp-bing) in there. Minimal, but good enough for me.
  9. Nice sounding ReMix. It does give me a feeling of Christmas with the light bells and piano. Ahhhh, yeah. My only complaint is it seems to end just when it gets really good. But I like it.
  10. And then there were two......well, two tracks by one man. Let's go DJP! The finish line awaits!
  11. First off: Bell at the beginning was like heaven. I don't know why, but that was sweet. I enjoyed the transition near the middle of the song and it really does sound like the darkness and the light. This may not be McVaffe's best ReMix, but it's definantly my favorite.
  12. A good ReMix for straight out chilling. The sax is a bit bothersome, but I can handle it. Prot. and Noppz did work well on this one, but I can't help but wonder what would have happened if either did it as a solo track. Both are really good. The whole song just has a beautiful tone and works well for me.
  13. I really dig the intro. This definantly has 80's and TMNT written all over it. The guitar work was the highlight of this mix. The breakdown was a very nice touch and this was well worth it. Hopefully Turtles in Time gets more love.
  14. Considering that the source for this mix is my favorite stage music of the game, I'd have given it a certain amount of bonus if it needed it. But it doesn't need it. The techno arrangement with the vocal clips were awesome. I know vocal clips are as dicey as real vocals, but I like them. I do think the "Ohhhh" clip at the end could have replaced the more repititive ones from earlier, but oh well. Very good.
  15. Very peaceful and relaxing. The bell chimes are great and the piano has such a good sound. It's just one of those ReMixes I could probably fall asleep to.
  16. Anyone paying attention knows how much I enjoy these dark ReMixes, and it's hard to get even darker than combining the haunted house (I was afraid of these levels when I was five because of that music ) and the Castles from SMW. This is brilliant and screams evil fortress or lair. The fading ending works well.
  17. Ah, yes! I love the classical sound of this ReMix. It's really got a great sound and pulls together on all three mixes from SMRPG. Love the cresendo during Beware the forest Mushrooms. Forest Illusion had a nice a cameo. Well done.
  18. Okay, I can definantly hear where the "midi-ish" stuff DJP was talking about is, but I have straight MIDI's on my MP3. I can handle it as long as the tune is nice, and this is. Iight-hearted and has a great beat. Can't say it's the greatest mix on OCR (by far), but it's alright with me.
  19. DnB, breakbeats and more rolled around SMRPG? Love it. This first half is so calming and it seems like I always forget about the upbeat half until it hits me in the face. As upbeat as the second half is, it sounds more epic-like than frantic, which is a nice change of pace. It rocks the box for sure. Recommended by moi.
  20. You and me both. One of these days I'll learn and make a good one. Sigma Fortress 3 is probably the only MMX tune I haven't heard mixed, so here's hoping someone nails it.
  21. This is almost too catchy. Good lord, I can shut my eyes and imagine zany little flubbers bouncing around to this tune. Crazy, wacky and overall an extremely enjoyable mix. Mazedude delivers as always.
  22. Ah, a waltz leading into a techno drum set. Not bad. I'm not a fan of slow tango music, so I wasn't sure about this when I clicked on it, but I'm glad I did. Smooth and relaxing. Great for a mix from an overlooked game and soundtrack.
  23. Hell yeah. Mario's got an offer ya can't refuse. Don't talk back or brudda Luigi's gonna have someone whacked. Kinda nice to hear a slower tempo with a song that is usually so hyper. Nice.
  24. I couldn't stop listening to this for a week after it came out. The title alone makes it download worthy, but then to listen to that big band swinging with jazzeyness all around makes it a classic dixieland mix for me. Long live the dix.
  25. I just love the sitar work in this one. I never thought of an electronic mix with Easteren flavor, but now that I've heard this, I think you've cooked up a masterpiece. This truly is a recipe for good times (and bad puns.)
