  1. I always loved this theme. This a great mix I can move and groove to. Keep 'em coming Eric!
  2. Random Hero, this mix right here is one of the reasons why I enjoy this site! I can't get enough dark, evil organ work from this! The beginning sounds like a score of impending doom and I can imagine a great confrontation/ taunting from Bowser in the middle. Love the slow down right at the end, it sounds like the sound of Bowser finally beating Mario. I've heard part 2 on VGmix as well. That was equally impressive and I hope you manage to get it on OCR too. Edit: Oops, didn't realize I reviewed this already. My bad. This review's better anyway.
  3. Okay, I agree the drums a midi-ish...or however you say it, but I really enjoyed this one. The electric guitar and opening was without a doubt the best part of this mix. I never noticed the slight Megaman tunes, but then again I've only played the X series. Good enough for me.
  4. I love the lyrics! "Remember it's not the end of the world when you lose all your continues, you can start all over again." ......or you can save the passwords so you DON'T spend an hour starting over agin. Anyone else find it odd that one of the lyrics is about being player 2 and this isn't a two-player game? Just too funny. Unlike a lot of vocal covers, this one finally seems to have one with someone with a decent voice. Great job on this one.
  5. This should be made completely just for the lyrics alone. Vocals seemed a little warped though.
  6. Simply the best MMX remix I've heard so far. Making short work of not one, but three X themes and doing justice to them, I gotta hand it to Prot, he's gold at these mixes. The Spark Mandrill part is the one I think was done the best, to be honest.
  7. Good ol' Trance/electronica mixed with DK. I really enjoy the heavy gongs at the beginning of the track and the bells that break out later on. Fun thing to try: Try playing this while walking in a snowstorm. It's awesome.
  8. Wild and kinda weird. Just the way I like my eye problems. The only problem I have is the high pitched chirping that starts after the second "Dadaya!" or whatever Kirby says that keeps up through a lot of the mix. It's annoying as hell. Still, it's a pretty decent mix for the first song of Kirby.
  9. Loving it. The piano only sounding verison of this theme is really good and simple. Don't really get why everyone is knocking it, as it has a beautiful melody and doesn't seem to trip over notes. Granted, I will note the almost robotic sound at times, but I like it. Nice!
  10. This site really needs a lot more KI love. The series was just so underrated and the music is so much better than a lot of other games. This is a good take on the opening track and I absolutely love the thunder SFX at the beginning and end of the mix. Good work!
  11. It's an interesting mix, and definantly not the worse thing to come out on the site. I don't really mind the vocals, but at some parts they just don't seem to work out like they intended to. I like the mix, just saying it's not a head turner. Then again, maybe it's just cause DKC(2,3) soundtracks are my fav. that I cut this a bit of slack.
  12. Oh yeah, this is a good one to groove to. Just feel that beat and move yo' feet! The only thing that would make this remix of the Lost World Jungle....is.....(gotta say it).....more cowbell! I really like from 4:19 to 4:50. Good mix of that particular chorus.
  13. So dark and machine-like, I love it! The guitar solo just sends this over the edge of pretty awesome to unbelievable! It still keeps the haunting feeling of the original and drives it into a wild spinning combo of haunted house, factory, and James Bond chase scene images. Whoo, thumbs up! Hands down, one of my top 3 Prot. mixes.
  14. Carpenter-looking dude who died for people's sins (supposedly). Anywho, I love this mix for it's simpleness and the main event, Birdcussion! This was the first mix I added when I got here and it's so peaceful and relaxing. Good switch of gears, Prot!
  15. Oh, sweet jesus. This is........whoa.....man. I couldn't even think of a good review to give when I heard this. It was just too much greatness at one time. So much good stuff in one six and a half minute song and it blew me away! I didn't even realize "Run, Rambi, Run" was used for a long time after I heard it until someone mentioned it. And the name is just as cool.
  16. Sweet! I'm loving how this goes into three parts. It's almost like three Remixes in one! I can kinda hear the POTC stuff everyone else is talking about in my favorite part, the Boss Bossanova mix. From 4:14 to the end is just simply epic. It gave me chills. My only complaint is the echoing chime-like guitars in the Ice part of the mix. Not too keen on them. But then again, the positives completely outweigh my one small gripe. Right on, Prot! (I'm not even gonna bother asking about Pt. 2. If he does it, he does it.)
  17. Protricity has always been one of my favorite remixers since I've been coming to the site, and remixes like this one is why. I'll agree with some others by saying that this is probably his best mix. Starting out so smoothly with the SFX of crickets and bayou life to great piano/guitar sections. A very well done piece by Prot.
  18. Interesting. I really like how this seems to have a more upbeat groovin' feeling while maintaining the cool, crisp, relaxing flavor of the original tune. I can hear a high amount of source tune, but seeing as you still made it your own, (and the best out of the hundred other mixes of this mix, IMO), I like it. Bravo.
  19. Impressive. The guitars did their job and let this piece flow. By that, I mean it was hard, and it was rocking, but it kept the good "final boss" feeling that the first meeting with King K. gave. Nice work, Snappleman.
  20. Agreed. You're the man, Arek. Good luck to Arek and everyone else in making this project fully awesome! I'm rooting for you guys! (Doing the whole KSS game now? I'm impressed with this ambition. )
  21. This sounds nice for a first work. I'd have to agree with everyone else and say that from a background standpoint, this is good. Just try experimenting with leads (as well as fixing the drums a hair) and see if you can get that extra "something" that will push it to the next level. Other than that, I'm loving the dark feeling of this tune. Good for a dungeon.
  22. Whooo! Now that's a nice sounding tune! Sounds great.
  23. How dare you!? Rapping, bah! And I thought you would have stopped after that whole "Spittin Narcissism" deal. Some Remixers just don't learn. (For those who can't take a joke, I'm being sarcastic. Loved both songs.) I look forward to the finishing touches to this in 2010. Should be an awesome year!
