  1. Well the first time I was introduced to some of the remixes was the Sonic 3 & Knuckles album when my friend played it on a car trip a few years ago. There was a lot of "I remember that level!"s. He told me about the site and I didn't think anything of it until the month after where I randomly decided to check this place out. I was looking for any childhood games ranging from Zelda to Sonic to Final Fantasy to F-Zero. I didn't come back regularly til about late 2009 where I started listening to them even if I hadn't played the game. So... probably Sonic brought me here? Depends on what you consider "brought me here" Sonic introduced it but it was probably Zelda and Final Fantasy that kept me.
  2. Thanks, that's pretty cool! What's it made of? I have a steam profile under the same name for your second half. Go by my current games and the wishlist and you'll have an idea of what to get. EDIT: And the game I got
  3. My person should've gotten theirs today. And honestly, I don't see how in the world I could've gift wrapped it ;D. I just hope their email on their profile is one they use frequently. Oh and I saw one of the games my person wanted was on sale yesterday, but I just couldn't grab it in time so I'm sorry about that! Next best thing I suppose. As for what I want, I don't really know. I definitely could use an OCR shirt (small, and preferably the black one) and if you can pick up a cheap game on steam sales or with Black Friday/Cyber Monday I'd like that too. I'm not picky, so don't feel like spending a lot. Cheap stuff is good too! Anyway, Merry Christmas!
  4. I could help you out at that level. It's really a lot simpler than you'd think. I could critique a replay or I could play a match or two with you if you want it.
  5. Here in this thread or is there another one?
  6. Could one of you fine gentleman help me out? I'm not a particularly amazing starcraft player. Currently I'm residing in the top end of the Gold league and brushing against platinum, and I might be a bit stuck in this "Limbo" spot. Gold level players are easy to beat, but as soon as I play someone in platinum, I'm very much strained and tend to lose. So I guess what I'm asking is one, what sort of general differences are there between the two levels of players? What makes me crumble underneath a platinum but dominate gold? ...also, I'm looking for a practice partner. Anyone interested? Yeah, I know these are general questions that probably won't get answered and sound noobish and crap, but... humor me please? Oh yeah, I've determined Canadians are the only ones that play on the North American ladder for some reason. I play all these games wishing everyone happy thanksgiving, and it ends up every one of them are canadian. Go figure.
  7. Ah what the heck, I'll do it. I just can't guarantee the gift being particularly nice! Sending the PM now. And a side note, Sorry to whoever I get
  8. Hmm... on one hand, I keep a rather low profile here to the point very few know of me, but on the other, this sounds like an awesome idea... but on the other other hand I don't have too much money... Oh dangit, should I do it?
  9. Click and drag it to the side. It should snap to the side again. ...That's what I did at least.
  10. Saki Kaskas - Callista ...or that one song from Afterlife in Mass Effect 2. It's a great "just chill hanging around the tech booth posting in forums rather than doing actual work" song. You know the type.
  11. Ok, I just played a 2v2 match and I was playing like this They turtle at the beginning, making it easy to control the rest of the map, and we mass armies, and my team memeber got disconnected. I had to micro 2 races, but I gained a metric crapton of resources. In ended up because they turtled, I controlled the entire map, and just bled them dry. Except, they just would not give up. I killed anyway for them to rebuild, but they just built vikings and would not give up, even though they knew they had lost. I'm all for giving a last ditch effort, but seriously, have the common decency to give up and let people go play another match rather than spend all of your time on this one match.
  12. Waitwaitwait, wait, wait, wait... wait... wait... there are other people here that visit the escapist? And not only that, there's a remixer that does something on the site? That's awesome!
  13. I like the occasional autosave or checkpoint or whatever you want to call them. I'm a habitual quick-saver so having a save every once in a while is good so I can fall back on it if my quick saving screws up things. There were some frustrating times (Mass Effect was one example) but most of the time, it was about time for me to stop playing anyway, so it wasn't all that much of a punishment, and more of a reminder, I should probably play later. The quick-save/autosave set up works really well for PC gaming. Consoles might have a harder time with it I suppose, due to a lack of a quick-save button.
  14. So, my headset broke. Now I have to use this really dumb "around the head" back-up headset that's really ticking me off. So I'm looking to go get a new headset, and I'm looking for one that's good for both music production and a little bit of gaming on the side. Would any of you kind gentleman have any suggestions for a model? I have a budget of about 70 bucks, but I could go a little more expensive than that. OT: I wasn't sure of the best place to post this, so sorry if there's a better spot.
  15. I don't think I've ever actually cried, but I have gotten to the point where my eyes were slightly damp and I was fighting to hold back. For instance, one moment was in Tales of Symphonia. I played through intending to get Kratos instead of Zelos at the end. The tower of salvation scene with Zelos was much more powerful than if you went through normally. And the closest I've ever come was when I beat Harvest Moon: A wonderful Life. The ending to that... just... wow. If I hadn't played through it, I'm not sure it would have had as much of an impact as it did, but because I did, I felt pretty attached. There are others, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
  16. The 3D part is "eh, ok that seems cool" The Zelda Ocarina of Time, Starfox 64, MGS, paper mario, and Mario Kart is what catches my interest (and money)! I think I will be getting one
  17. I'ma go with 1. Heavy 2. Guybrush Threepwood 3. Luna
  18. That's better, thanks! (also, I knew it was something simple, why didn't I see that before? >.<)
  19. I already knew that method, I figured it out. What I was looking for is a way to get the kick to be silent, but still sidechain the pad. I haven't figured out how to do it with this method (although I admit, I do like the new way better).
  20. I know how to sidechain in FL. That's not terribly difficult. What I'm looking for is to find a way for the song to sidechain with "nothing" so all I get is the pump without the kick (or w/e I'm using). So, I tried to google it. I couldn't figure out the right google wording, so I looked at Zircon's "Just Hold On" because I remembered that it had the effect I'm looking for. After playing with around, I deduced that he used a Kick, assigned it to channel 2, and sidechained it. When I play the kick on channel 2, it doesn't make a sound (in fact, nothing assigned to 2 makes any sound, and from what I see, there aren't any obvious tricks) but when I assign it to something else, it makes a sound. So could someone please help me understand how to do this? I've been really itching to use it.
  21. I love the soundtracks to wolfenstein and MoHAA. The style they're done in is just awesome. This track is a piece of amazing music, kudos Me being a band geek, it's always nice to have a mix like this
