  1. I'd like to know what you guys use day to day when it comes to music, movies, whenever. Searched a bit for a similar thread, didn't see one. My headphones, as beat up as they are(by me). I've pretty much taken them everywhere, but they stay home now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826262102&Tpk=rx700&IsVirtualParent=1 They usually are my go-to as to not bug anyone. Regular speakers, located in my room (just use TV speakers in living room, which have a lack of any bass and not very there mids, treble's fine)): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882290224 - mishmashed together with a random Zenith subwoofer I bought at Goodwill for $5` (whatever system it was from). Woofer actually sounds decent, even though I Frankensteined it in (no dedicated sub out). Receiver is a bit old, no idea what brand, but it works alright. Oh, and before anyone says ears, I will. EDIT: Yup, still love my HA-RX700's, in all their massive plastic-ness. I should see about getting another pair (duct tape holds the drivers on the band right now, still sounds as good as ever).
  2. Your sigs are great as always. :)

  3. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=262357 You can pull ps2 saves off your ps3 if you have a flash drive (sounds like there's no need, but might as well post this). It's just you have to select each individual save, can't just grab the whole memory card. I used this to pull our 200 hour PS2 save data and use it with the emulator. By the way, why are you stopping at 720; are you playing it windowed? Personally, I'm one of those who goes to the resolution and sets it to the max (in my current case, 1080). The settings do take some work initially, but once you get the basics down, you can usually just check their website if you run into issues. random screenshot, not that great of angle: http://imageshack.us/a/img546/3857/gsdx20130321100439.png
  4. The only other place you can play it right now is a PS2 emulator (which looks great, btw). My Phenom II X4 965 seems to do alright at stock clock speeds, some minor slowdowns, haven't seen hastenings(quickenings?)/summons, though.
  5. I'm guessing a short somewhere. probably a stray pin (or 72) are hitting a circuit where it shouldn't when in the down position, idk.
  6. By the way, are there replacement silicon (?) button pads for SNES/NES controllers anywhere (those things that close the electrical connection, give the button that mushiness)? We have an SNES one in which the control pad's old enough it's just ripped. :/ Anyone made their own controllers, also? I've found some research into NES/SNES ones (http://www.gamesx.com/controldata/nessnes.htm), but I haven't even attempted it. It sounds like it could be a fun weekend project once you got the parts. I think for the connector, if you got those small barrel power plugs you could improvise one, not sure where you would get enough of them, though.
  7. I recently had to install a switch into a Gamecube I got, because the original open/close one was busted. I just have it mounted n the back of the system, although, I did have to shave off some of the handle due to bad positioning. I'll put a picture up later. I've replaced a GBA SP shell, just got one of those knockoff shells. Feels a bit cheap, but meh. It isn't broken/grungy anymore. I personally haven't done this, but if I ever get heavily into console mods... http://mikejmoffitt.com/wp/?p=74 Edit: GC photo: http://imageshack.us/a/img843/4174/0318131224.jpg
  8. Nah, I think manga is fine here. This thread moves slow enough that it's sort of a non-issue. Speaking of comics, some of those long strip format, online Korean manwhas are pretty great too (Kubera, for one). I wish I knew Korean and Japanese. Maybe sometime in the future...
  9. 1) Get iron 2) Make bucket 3) Get lava 4) Troll Or, you can get a bit creative. http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/903233346025886634/876299F56BFB818943EE63DBBE905E26FFE9E9B7/ I played this before Minecraft, and for whatever reason, I prefer Terraria. I haven't played in a while, though. I should distribute my extra copies to my family already. Now, if only Starbound would come out.... I need another game to randomly dump hundreds of hours into, and that looks like it.
  10. What do you mean by that, exactly? On a side note about ToS and expectations, though, I thought the voice acting in Baten Kaitos would sound nice and be pretty clear due to playing ToS before.... I haven't really played much ports that would give cause for disappointment. The voices were annoying, though, in the two Super Mario Advances I have (Bros. 3 and World). However, gameplay was still very much the same, not really any loss I noticed there. Generally if I want to play an older game I go for playing the original somehow, unless there is a graphical overhaul, expansion or something. Disgaea DS obviously suffered more than a bit in quality. Haven't gotten the PS2 version, but I have played the original Disgaea 2. Still fun, just horrible image and sound compression. I seem to be very picky about voices....
  11. This thread seems amazingly off-topic right now, so I might as well say something real quick before I post on-topic. I was HUGELY disappointed with Other M. Worst purchase of my gaming life (pre-ordered it and everything). Scripting was horrible, Samus was almost unrecognizable, cutscenes way too long and sleep inducing, battles got repetitive real quick.... A pretty flop is still very much a flop. They need to learn why people liked the others and then disliked Other M with a passion. It left me outright melancholic. Now, someone mentioned an Animal Crossing LP. Someone have a link, or did I just miss it somewhere? I want to know if the guy bothers weeding any.

  13. I'd like to hop on the OCR server sometime. Username is GravSuit.
  14. I wonder if they'll keep some functionality of the Tingle Tuner through something like DS download play. It's not a necessity, but they might as well implement it if it's not too difficult to do.
  15. O.O Monthly fee? I hope not. There isn't one for the JP release. It's F2P, with a bunch of stuff you have to pay for (not necessary, but things like selling to other players and trading need you to pay). I just haven't played it since the beta because I don't understand Japanese.
  16. EBA did cause me to tear up since others have mentioned it, but it wasn't the most emotional for me. Megaman Zero 4's ending really gets to me, when Ciel collapses on the ground and starts crying. Honestly, each game endings almost brings tears to my eyes. The ending cut-scene of Kingdom Hearts after you beat the boss also did a pretty good job. FF4 has a few moments that get pretty close, too. Xenoblade Chronicles when Fiora gets "killed" also left a deep impression, almost more depressing, though, for whatever reason; there are some other scenes so far that get close. Of course, Zelda games are usually pretty emotional, though not so much I cry. Metroid: other M disappointed me in many aspects. No chance of tears there. This fanboy was not happy, more sad that they messed up so badly. That was definitely not any Samus I recognized. You feel more backstory about Samus going through Chozo scans (even pirate ones) in the Prime series and the start of Super Metroid than that failure of, at best, a badly written and directed CG film. Seriously, tears of frustration. I guess there are tears.
  17. An adventurer was me. I ascendeded twice, haven't played in a long time. It is fun, but there's more things I'd rather play.
  18. You haven't played through Deus Ex: HR? You might put that on your list of games to beat.
  19. It sounds like an interesting thing to do, and I'd enjoy hearing what the judges go through. Maybe instead of worrying about sound quality during the streaming, if the submitting artist said it was fine to release it publicly, give listeners access to the submission via irc or something a bit beforehand. I think the listeners who took the extra step to download earlier would be more able to understand what you're talking about during the judging. Some level of quality still would be nice. You might check with someone like Overcoat, KyleJCrb or an OCAD host, see how they have things set up. One of them probably will be in this topic soon enough, anyway. Anyways, I hope this works out well. if you could get this going maybe weekly to monthly, that would probably be good. It doesn't have to happen too often; it might suck the life of it out of you otherwise.
  20. I've only got three of the Lab gold key areas left. Abyss and Night Shift are going to be a pain, especially since I'm taking a break from the game.... I also have the Core Temple left. That one's a bit less painful to me. I've gotten pretty high rankings in some levels; I don't remember which ones. Btw, doing it all with Dustgirl (the red one). And, it's actually Backup Shift, not Night Shift.
  21. Makes you wonder why they make it into hentai in the first place . I find my story fix elsewhere..., although, there always seems to be a lot of anime based off eroge when you look at the lineups. Is that what it takes to get recognized? Even anime not so targeted towards adults will still have fan-service, a fair bit of it. :/ I really don't set new years resolutions. I do want to improve musically and physically (current amount of exercise a week: 0). I've been trying to cut down on my gaming purchases, too. I have plenty. Also, if I can try to be a better person daily, that's a plus in my book. Life is made up of moments, and I feel right now making short term goals is more likely to help me than making more long term ones. The long term ones I have feel big enough already. Maybe I should make a goal to plan better for those.
  22. Awesome! By the way, I love the album art. The crazy in it seems to apply to how good the music is. Now, I should go listen more to the originals. I don't believe I've heard them all yet.
  23. Homemade chocolate cookie crumbs and various games. Thank you, kitty!
  24. This track always gives me goosebumps and brings tears to my eyes. This really is fantastic. Great job.
  25. Honestly, this is one of my favorite games ever. I'm not sure of many other games that capture this feeling of hopelessness and destruction as well as Majora's Mask. You see the people of Termina, learn about them, and watch as they handle the approach of the moon. Some get angry, some get scared, and others just wait silently, almost accepting the fate that is about to be thrust upon them. I'm looking forward to this release. I imagine you've done a great job; as far as what I hear on the site, it supports that.
