  1. I've always loved this one. It's probably my favorite off of the album -- yes even more than the Tal Tal Heights remix The harp was very dreamy, and fit nicely in with the whole song. I especially love the drums and the way they're filtered throughout the song. Really, all I can say is it fits together. Also, I gotta say, the effects remind me of Earthbound a LOT. Good job Chtho--.. err, I mean Ben.
  2. Happy birthday DJP. This site has been a huge influence on me and my interest in music ever since I found it. It's funny, even - if you told me 3 years ago that I'd be listening to the music I listen to today, which is a TON of it now, then I don't think I would have believed it. And I'm glad too, it's really helped me change for the better. (Yes, music means a lot to me ) Thank you, happy 32! Here's to 32 more, hopefully?
  3. Just a quick post, I actually went ahead and updated this just a little since TGH suggested. Added a pad to kind of fill out space a bit and strengthened the kick a little. I might try some new pads in the future to fill it out a bit more if necessary (somehow, I'm having a hard time finding the right pad). Think I need to put this down for today, though. Haha.
  4. So I started this one last night, and finally finished. This was originally meant to be some fast paced electronic, but I eventually scrapped everything, got inspired by a certain , and suddenly started making something similar to "The Last Schala Mix Ever".So yeah. Source. Remix (Box). I'd appreciate any feedback or criticism if possible. Thanks for listening!
  5. Thanks for the fast response. Unfortunately I'm so forgetful, that once I realized the "effect" I was looking for was named a cymbal roll (because I happened to stumble across one while browsing setzer_spc), I kind of forgot to come back and edit my post. Thanks, though!
  6. Hi. I'm in the middle of a song, but am having trouble finding some good ways to transition. I found something that will probably just work, I'm just not sure how to emulate the cymbal sound in FL Studio. This song right here. The one that comes in at around :30 when the main theme comes. And it holds around for a while before the cymbal is actually hit (transition point?). Does anybody have any idea how to emulate that or a good sound for it?
  7. Haha, so I finally finished a song. I was messing around with electronic music for the past 2 weeks or so, and eventually I came up with something I really liked, and so for the past 4 hours or so I decided to go ahead and finish it. This was really fun to make, and I'm glad I did it. It's by no means completely finished (I know it's got a lot of work ), I still want to touch up on it some, and fix the ending which doesn't really transition well. And EQ a lot of things. And also I got a suggestion to up the kick. I'm still not sure how to go about that.. but I'll figure out! And the arrangement is only mostly done, but I won't make too drastic of a change unless I have too (mostly the ending, though) My only fear is that maybe too much is going on during some parts of the song.. that's mostly why I'm posting it here before I do all of the above things.. But, hopefully you like it for what it is right now! Uhh, the source. I can't actually find a video on youtube atm (unless I went through a playthrough of the game), so I'm actually uploading the source. To be honest, I'm having a hard time finding it anywhere ATM. But it came with an OST download so it should be around somewhere. Also, the source is kind of.. sparce I guess. Not much too it, too be honest not even sure if this is considered a remix. But it's worth a shot posting it here! Source: http://tindeck.com/listen/jrsc Remix: http://tindeck.com/listen/ymvd
  8. I kind of felt that Nintendo's conference was pretty fair, to be honest. I'm just glad they at least announced some games instead of everything being something we already knew (Which really, most of the conference was just that). Not outstanding, but not bad either.
  9. This. Was rocking out to it yesterday during a 3 hour drive. SwankyVegas needs more love.
  10. I love the source, and really love the metal take on this. A lot like Terra in Black, except different in a style(s). I'm with the above poster too, I feel like something else could help this mix, make it sound beefier. But too be honest, it sound really good in the latter half. Also, not really that big of a deal, but the drums really bother me at some points. I can't put my finger on it, though... again not a big deal though.. I love it when the song mellows out around 2:12, too. I love that kind of arrangement.
  11. Hey guys, I'm back here again I've updated my last thread just a little bit with a synth that I think works now, but it's still kind of lacking in pretty much everything that would make a bump worthwhile so I'll just link it here. I've also got this new thing I worked on recently. Got most of what I have done in about a day. Mostly just tweaking things between my two projects and trying (and failing) at doing new things every now and then. It's still incomplete just like the other. I've realized that I really SUCK at arrangement. I'm not sure what it is, but I really just can't find myself to take anything I do any further than like, 1 minute. I guess it's just a thing I'll have to learn how to do eventually. Or maybe I lack the creativity that some people here do. Anyways enough typing. This post is getting boring. Source: Mix: http://tindeck.com/listen/gjxd Try not listening to it on full volume. It's loud for some reason. I have no idea why. It was fine in my media player. x.x
  12. Wow! Congrats to both of you! I have to say it must be killer to be working with the guys at Mojang. I can't wait for Scrolls and the (for sure) awesome music to be with it. : D
  13. Uuuh, well I listen to OCR a lot, so I can't remember exactly. Probably something from Missingno though. I think Shades of Red. My memory of last nights a little fuzzy :S
  14. Dale North submitting again? Awesome! Professional stuff, as always. Home Again has always been somewhat of a classic to me, and it's awesome to see another song go up even after all that stupid drama. (On the comments section..) I love the lyrics, too. You rock, Dale! <3
  15. This song.... it was so dirty it literally took my pants right off. I love the use of the game sound fx's and musical use. Especially the "wown" sound for most of the beginning after the hey listen. This mix works so well in so many ways. Freaking great job PR. Literally everything you touch turns Gold.
  16. Hi there. I'm just curious, are you still selling Earthbound at all?

  17. So I would need hardware synths huh... So I'm assuming this wouldn't count? Which if that's the case.. I already have an old Yamaha keyboard I could just use as a controller for now. But I do want something that can save velocity on input later (and really, a better sample base overall <.<)... thank you though. I'll try for that cable.
  18. Sooner or later (hopefully next week) I'm going to try and get a midi keyboard. I'm trying to find something good at my local music store but no such luck as of yet (Because the guy who specializes in it is never there <.<), I was wondering if this would be an effective way to push notes into the piano roll (well, I would hope at least..), but possibly even record the samples from the piano itself (through Edison, I think?) I'm only asking this because I will only have a USB cable, but from what I've been told that's really all you need now a days anyways. But then I hear some guy from the college music store tell me I need a 120 dollar cable, and then I don't know what to think. D: I tried googling some quick questions, got some stuff off yahoo answers, but I still don't entirely get it. :/
  19. Dude fucking grats on getting accepted

    a+++++++++

  20. Is that Crazy Bus I heard???? A++ CRAZYBUS4LIFE
  21. I wonder if I can now punch people via e-mail now. Revolutionary technology google. Good job!
  22. While conservative.. this is definitely a great track. When listening to the original, I always find myself preferring to just listen to this instead. It's kind of like an update I could say. Not McVaffe's greatest.. but it still is fun to listen to and makes great background music for studying.
  23. Ok, so while this article isn't entirely true, and hopefully this doesn't go against any rules on OCR, I personally find this worthy of a post simply because it's easily the most amusing article I've ever read regarding Shiggy and I think a lot of people might enjoy it.. http://www.n-sider.com/contentview.php?contentid=4136
