  1. I would do this, but can barely even get project mixes done by myself . If anyone wants a collab partner for something do contact me. That might work out better than solo mixes at the moment.
  2. ehh my bad. i could've sworn that some people did sell their remixes.. specifically from this site. but i see what you're saying now.
  3. I'm sure it wouldn't matter. I think a metroid prime mix on this site went through a similar process. Can't remember the exact name but I think it's fine as long as it's your property. Feel free to sell your remixes too. Lots of people do afaik. OCR won't be involved with any of that, though.
  4. I have 510 trophies and have 8 more challenges to go that will pretty much fill themselves out once I run through all star and smash run with all the characters. I have all the outfits too, just need headgear. There's so much content, but I'm happy this will be the first smash I 100%.
  5. don't actually have a wii u yet, but my soon to be roommate loves nintendo, so we'll probably split on one. can't wait for it
  6. I've been finding people to play on smashboards. I can play fine at Starbucks but only in for glory mode. It's much better to just play with friends, though.
  7. why wouldn't you get both versions? these games are great. at least i'm assuming that the wii u version will be good too. smash on the go is something i've wanted for a long time, too. I didn't think it would control that well, but it actually feels very good to play. Still can't wait to use the good 'ol gamecube controller. edit: i wont be able to add you guys till tomorrow unfortunately, my internet is being weird with my 3ds, but it shall be done! i used to play smash in competitive scene so if you're into that then lemme know. i don't really mind how we play, though.
  8. this game is so addicting it's crazy. how much has everyone unlocked so far? got all characters and stages, and about 3 blocks away from completing the second challenge panel. i only have 235 trophies so far, not sure how many of those there are. the whole trophy system never really interested me too much, though. they did make it more fun to collect them this time around. ill add you too, armadonRK
  9. My friend code is 4613-7840-2447 Let's brawl!.. err Smash 3DS'!... err whatever. I added you SystemsReady.
  10. I met one guy at a catering job for some huge music festival who loved OCR. I showed him lost in time and he dug it. Didn't get to work in the same area as him though Anyone else I show it too just says "that's cool", or some people say I should do do vgm for a living.
  11. I personally don't care, but I do see how it would be different for people who find getting their remix posted a bigger deal. This idea specifically affects people who view through youtube, you'll find a lot of youtubers have a sort of schedule for uploading videos as that schedule allows them to get the most views and revenue and that ends up being screwed up by uploading a bulk of videos or by updating spontaneously. Totalbiscuit talks about this. But I think it's a bit different for people who just upload music, I don't really go to any other channels like OCReMix so I'm not sure.
  12. This is help with that backlog! Good job you guys.
  13. Isn't most of that stuff put onto an account rather than the 3DS anyways? I would think all of your purchased games would transfer over to that so you wouldn't have to worry about it.
  14. Yeah, seems like Nintendo likes the Apple approach to their handhelds. I don't think their marketing has been all that great, though. Wii U, New 3DS... they really don't want us thinking these are new systems altogether.. which I guess the New 3DS isn't. Even though it's going to have system exclusive games.
  15. seriously tho negative man for smash 5.
  16. Dr. Mario and Dark Pit is disappointing.. At least with clones like Wolf (who wasn't that great either) or Lucas they ARE different characters. Hopefully the movesets will be radically different but it would have been cool to do something like Paper Mario if they really felt like Mario was unrepresented in Brawl. Or Bleck.
  17. it'd be fun to be on one of these again. maybe one day.
  18. i hope ice climbers are just not being shown on that character screen or something. i personally dont play them that much but it would suck to have them just go like that.
  19. The Bible Belt is awesome. And if you want we can totally get together and do some totally non-secular things. Like listen to country music and drink a bunch of beer. edit: tho be aware every time i make plans to hang out with people they tend to go down the drain. along with the beer. the toilet to be more specific.
  20. I've kicked M2K's ass plenty of times.
  21. Does anyone want to get their ass kicked by my Jigglypuff when the 3DS version comes out?
  22. Jumanji is on Netflix now if anyone wants to watch it. I'm about to finish and damn is it a bad movie. I still like it a lot if only for nostalgia, but these kids almost ruin the entire experience. Robin Williams helps the movie a lot. If it weren't for him I don't think I'd be able to finish it.
  23. I don't mean to sound like I'm bashing this stuff by the way... I wouldn't even make this thread if that was the intent. It was more about how the way an artist could express a message negatively affect the art even if it's well thought out or a good message. I'm not too good at putting thoughts into words so hopefully that clears it up. I couldn't really think of any other way to express what I was saying except "lack of self-awareness" or whatever. I'll edit the post soon to clear it up.. On the Linkin Park thing I haven't listened to their newer stuff so can't comment on that (really Linkin Park was not the best example, it was the first thing that came to mind and I just went with it). It is a perception thing, and even though I like their older stuff, it does feel like the misery they put into the music becomes overwhelming at times. I'm not against expressing yourself in anyway, but when you're creating something I feel like it's good to look into yourself and understand where those feelings or thoughts come from, and not to completely overdo things like you said..
  24. This is a thread I wanted to make for a while but never find the words for the first post, so I'm just gonna keep typing until something happens. I see this getting discussed a little bit, or maybe just thrown around when reviewing an album, video game, movie, etc. but I was curious to know your opinions on the importance of being self-aware whenever creating anything. I've noticed that whenever someone tries to establish a statement, or put themselves on a pedestal of importance that the message being conveyed can come off in the completely wrong way. I'd like to list one example that a lot of people bring up - Braid. I've seen a lot of articles talking about how Jonathan Blow comes off as pretentious, and it seems like it gets to the point where it hurts the image of the game. Not in all cases but a few. I haven't played the game personally, but I do know it looks fun from a few lets plays, and the Prince of Persia mechanics make for great puzzles throughout the game. But for whatever reason that stuff seems to get clouded behind the games message and whatever self-importance it's trying to establish, to the point where you're just tired of being preached at and quit playing. This happens in music a lot too. Linkin Park is a great band, musically. The way they mix rock with rap was absolutely mind-blowing to me as a kid, and their first two albums just sound good. But I personally have trouble listening to them that much anymore because of the shit they say in their songs. It almost makes me depressed to listen too, but not in a good way that a drama might. The lyrics aren't even that great to be honest, and whenever you have someone screaming self-pity through a mic it ends up taking away from the actual music, which again is pretty good. On the other hand, there's an album that I think hits the self-awareness nail right on the head. It's an extreme example (just to get the point across), but My Chemical Romance. Specifically The Black Parade (Never really listened to their other stuff). It just seems like it does its message so well. How so? It's just fucking crazy. Yes, it does have very morbid and depressing lyrics most of the time, and the singer sounds like he's just crying at others, but they never seemed to put themselves on some sort of pedestal of knowledge. I think the most important thing is that they just sounded like they were having fun, and putting the music first. It was a concept album, about a guy looking back on his life after death, but because it went so over the top at times, you can tell they weren't trying to shove some kind of deep message down your throat. Again, it was just crazy, and fun to listen to. It never felt like the singer took away from the music, and in fact added to it. I wanted to list two music examples cause it's all that I can think of at the moment. And this really just my interpretation on things; it could be completely wrong. Again, I was just making this to see your opinions on this. If you're just trying to shove a message down peoples throats can that actually ruin your art? Maybe you guys know examples of video games or music or movies that do this, or that actually get hurt by this? Maybe there's a line and once you cross it the art starts to suffer?
