  1. aaaah you beat me to it! Nice work here though, keeping the styling of the original but switching it up just enough to make it your own. : o Personally though, I found the "da-da's" to be a bit much in the long term (perhaps making them a little more subtle could aid with that) but their initial appearance was a nice touch. Also - No expert here but should you want to submit this perhaps you could try adding an additional solo or harmonic element to compliment this. Nothing overly complex but just something to flesh it out a bit more...maybe subtle bells or an arp perhaps. I know ETB isn't the most complex piece, but that in itself leaves room for you to add/experiment a bit more : ).
  2. Various sources honestly. Artwork, certain shows, other types of music (From old school rap to some obscure VG track), other artists, daily occurrences in life, random thoughts...things like that.
  3. Ouch. I gotta agree with Dissidia there. That pretty much killed what I was going to say.
  4. Great job on that advice you have to Tekkaxe man - Always great to see artists helping each other out.

  5. You're really good T2! I know i'm late to the party but do keep up the good work. That Yu-Gi-Oh mix you posted was just amazing.

  6. Really digging the clean, and simple but effective sound of this mix. Perfectly suited for an updated MM game or what have you; only minor qualm were one or two off notes I may have heard, but not nearly enough to ruin this. Keep it up man.
  7. Sounding pretty good P5. I feel like you captured what you were going for here so far, so I'd just urge you to keep at it... >_> assuming it's still a WIP (as per the thread's subject).
  8. This. This is just amazing bro. I've no issues here; clean sound, interesting change ups and atmosphere (really captured that Arabic feel), transitions are on point...just a really good mix. Keep it up I say.
  9. Great stuff here. I'm certain it'll be a hit ( based on the awesome hype/apparent effort put into what I'm seeing so far) : )
  10. : ) Don't worry C - I'm fully aware of the guidelines (and what's OCR-worthy or not) and never post songs like these for submission (i.e Where I do a lot of direct sampling and such). I simply like sharing them with the group here is all. Yes, there's a TON of filling out that could be done with this beat, : 3 but that wasn't the plan this time. Just having some fun with a sample. (This isn't to say I'm not taking the critique in mind now. Believe me, I am.) I'll be posting a more fleshed out mix soon though, so stay tuned : o
  11. Been meaning to mix from this awesome but underrated ost. May tackle one of these next year, should I live so long.
  12. Or,(as much as this is frowned upon for the most part) You could do a MINOR sample/manipulate said sample and build on it, adding the extras such as chords, arps, drums - etc etc even if it's only to get the juices flowing. An example of that can be found here - Yes, there's no intricate melody or complex transitions or what have you...but it's a remix made from a source that's about 2 seconds long : ) - Try a different approach and have fun with it I say.
  13. Happy B-Day OCR. Awesome place - Awesome people.
  14. Get Over Shukumei (SOUNDCLOUD) Another possible beat for the rappers on the forum.
  15. For a WIP this is sounding pretty nice/polished thus far. No serious issues with it thus far so do keep it up man.
  16. (For anyone interested) I'd say to just turn the volume up on the drums a bit for now; Everything else seems in place thus far. If you're going for a straight cover then you're spot on. But, I'd say there is room for at least another arp, chord pattern or additional melody to accompany what you've got here. Doesn't have to be anything over the top, but just something to add some depth to a pretty straightforward/monotonous source : o. Yes Yes - I should be the LAST person addressing this (given the style I work with) But perhaps you could look into it.
  17. Amazing work here. Very professional sounding and truly captures that nice, frosty feel of the original. (Always liked the work Yamamoto did on this OST)Kudos on making it have something of a progressive feel as well...as if you're travelling through the Drifts. I will say that initially the choir voice sounded just a TAD robotic, but upon further listening it meshes in nicely (but perhaps adding just a little more decay or... reverb or something couldn't hurt eh?). Nice job, and I look forward to the final version of this one.
  18. Thanks for the listen/critique m'friend - and yes, it was actually looped(hence the sound sounding the same throughout). Was really intended to be something simple that someone could perhaps rap to someday or something; however, I'm quite open to building on it more as you pointed out, especially if someone were interested in actually doing something with it. *takes note to avoid future Phaser abuse lol*
