  1. Really? Weird, no one else said that. Oh well, I'll try to fix it, then. Woah, you heard that? That's interesting, for some reason I didn't think you could actually hear that. xD The 8-bit-ish one? I'll fix it during that process up there. =D ---------- Thanks a lot for the review! =)
  2. It's great to me. I don't have any criticism. Mostly because I don't know this source.
  3. Here is the V4. Tell me how it is! I don't know if the last melody lead is a bit too intense. V4: http://www.box.net/shared/ruvfqto6ydi1cx29xhk1 V3: http://www.box.net/shared/pjcnqqudpjlfagstizhc V2: http://tindeck.com/listen/soyk V1: http://tindeck.com/listen/elwz
  4. So you would like more contrast as the song progresses? Okay, that was what I was planning to do eventually, once the production got sufficient. It's going to make me add like 9 more layers to the 26 layers that were already there, but that just makes the project file more complicated and awesome. xD
  5. I seem to be having an uploading problem at tindeck... it keeps saying "(NaN kb of NaN kb uploading) at NaN kb/s". =/ So I guess I made a box.net account. V3: http://www.box.net/shared/pjcnqqudpjlfagstizhc V2: http://tindeck.com/listen/soyk V1: http://tindeck.com/listen/elwz
  6. I do see that. I'll fix it up! Sweet, I don't want to be boring. ;D I should take out the limiter while fixing the compression? Hm.
  7. That might be the white noise. xD I was actually thinking of tuning it down a notch anways. Yeah, I'm still trying to find some good samples. Okay. True, I've been thinking the bass was just a bit high. Maybe some reequalizing might help. Thanks for the feedback!
  8. Battle Network! I hack Battle Network 3, 5 and 6. =D Sounds good so far. Maybe you can add some more cool effects here and there to keep it from being too simple or repetitive during the sections where adjacent times are similar. For some reason I don't find Battle Network tracks very easy to remix.
  9. I'm quite familiar with this source, actually. There's some very nice production going on here. The drums are epic. :3 Yeah, I'm like this too: From 0:58, the lead doesn't seem to match. Try going for an easy-going legato synth on the mid-high end of the EQ. Since I know the source, I know that there's not much original stuff in here. Try putting some unexpected variations, but don't go overboard. Maybe a solo here and there. It feels jazzy, so maybe a piano solo? 3:18 - Try having some crescendos/decrescendos on the oscillating synth here. That would match better with its surrounding backups. Very nice so far! Perhaps this ocremix could be a good reference as to how close you are to reaching the goal of an acceptable remix: It's of the same source, and it's most similar in style to yours.
  10. The strings that start it off would be even more awesome if they crescendoed and decrescendoed. Also, you could EQ it so the... shakers (?) could have a bit more treble. That's about it for me. Good work so far.
  11. Why don't I remember this dungeon? Oh. It's from Sky. >_> I didn't play Sky because it was essentially a Platinum of Mystery Dungeon. D< What I would suggest is making your volumes throughout dynamic. The parts where the flute plays the same note many times (such as 1:10 is a bit repetitive when it's played at the same volume each time. Also, the drums should be more humanized. If they sound like the person's arms aren't getting tired, then it's not realistic. xD For some reason I think this ocremix would be a good match for you to aim for in quality.
  12. This is amazing! The drums have just the right amount of energy, and the piano's dead on.
  13. I'd like to see some more power on the kicks at 0:13 - 0:36. The stuff that kicks in at 0:43 is quite nice. The only thing there I see is probably the lack of low frequencies in the bass for the kick at 0:43 - 1:20. EQ it, but don't let it overpower your other instruments, though. There could be an expansion on the width of the sound at 1:35 - 1:44, to give some contrast to the previous 10 seconds. The lead at 2:11 can also have some note-by-note modulation as needed. It's the lead, so make it shine! 2:25 - Nearing the end! Improve on that in whatever way you feel is fit, just make it sound like an improvement from 2:11 - 2:24. Sounding great so far, keep it up!
  14. Awesome. I think I'll go PM some people. Anyone else who has anything to say, you can say it.
  15. Okay, I updated it. It should be less stale in the beginning now. Check it out! V2: http://tindeck.com/listen/soyk V1: http://tindeck.com/listen/elwz
  16. You can hear it if you're on headphones. There's kind of a phaser effect throughout the quiet section, and some low pads. Then there's an oscillating 8-bit synth. The bass that comes in IS quite high, though. Lower that to about 60% its original, and pump up the other stuff. Bass shouldn't be overwhelming.
  17. 0:05 - For some reason, I think you should make the attack just a bit later than how it is now, to reduce the "clicking". Also, some dynamic volumes would help a ton on the purely orchestral sections. 0:28 - The bass that starts to "arpeggiate" more there could have a boost in the bass frequencies. That could create a neat bassline. Maybe modify the velocities so that every other note is softer than the previous and next, to create that groove. Some note-specific synth modulation would work well, too. The reverse cymbal at 0:42 and 2:01 could have some more reverb. Just enough to give the remix that "beat drop" feeling without making it too overwhelming.
  18. I think I'm getting better at this. A lot better, actually, since my first WIP. V1: http://tindeck.com/listen/elwz The FLP is a massive 24-layer project at the moment. xD How is it so far? Is there anything I should do to improve it? Put on headphones for the full effect. EDIT: Source:
  19. That's okay, thanks for the review! =) I've worked so hard on this one that I don't have any more ideas on how to improve it. I guess the idea didn't have much room for expansion. =/ I've got a good one coming up from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, though, since it's a fresh one!
  20. It was so ambient when it came in. Immediate hook. Stereo Delay with the broken chords set the mood. zircon brings in epic mixing skills and his powerful drums as usual. And then... oh wait! Wah guitar?! C-GPO perhaps? I jizzed when I heard that at 2:08. =3 Overall, wonderful mix.
  21. There's no way I can leave this epic remix uncommented! WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. O.O The beginning was hooking me already! Groovy bass (I'm old school with words here ), and the panning just works wonders! The harmony is right on the mark, and I love how you manage to create a healthy chiptune soundspace with 8-bit sounds! I don't often listen to 8-bit, but this is amazing! 0:37 left me waiting a bit, which can be good or bad. I was wondering what you were doing with that part with the pause. Maybe you can fix that up so that we're not all anxious waiting like that. Dx I keep thinking that you're just trying to make us feel like we're listening to a Japanese anime's frantic background music. xD If that's what you wanted, then you've accomplished it all! 0:54 - the arpeggiating synth there was very fitting. 1:12 - I can't help but think that lead synth sounds extremely similar to an instrument from a Pokemon soundfont. o.o Specifically the one for the melody in the GSC rival battles. =D 1:21 - The solo is exactly where I'd want it to be, for sure. 2:11 - The FUNNIEST part. It's like when the character(s) win at something and it all ends with them appearing on screen right in your face with googly eyes, dancing across the screen with a disco floor behind them. xD Everything already flows smoothly. The only thing left is the ending. I would have liked it to be more cheesy, actually. I can't wait til the vocals are in there! D<
