  1. Hey guys and gals! I'm looking for feedback on my reorchestration of the "Condemned Tower" theme from Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. In particular, I'm looking for production issues (panning, EQ, humanization, etc.). Thanks! The original: My version: https://soundcloud.com/willpisani/condemned-tower-castlevania-1
  2. Hey guys and gals! I'm looking for feedback on my reorchestration of the "Fully Powered Suit" theme from Metroid: Zero Mission. It's essentially the Brinstar theme, but more heroic. In particular, I'm looking for production issues (panning, EQ, humanization, etc.). Thanks! The original: My version: https://soundcloud.com/willpisani/fully-powered-suit-metroid-1
  3. Updated version: https://soundcloud.com/willpisani/s-s-anubis-jet-force-gemini-1 Thanks for the feedback! I smoothed out the area between 1:45 and 2:15, boosted the low strings, and boosted the high strings in the beginning (call & answer section). I also humanized the snare and raised the volume of 1:28-1:41.
  4. Hey there! Below you will find a reorchestration of the S.S. Anubis theme from the Nintendo 64 video game Jet Force Gemini. As a reorchestration, my version is just meant to show how the original song would have sounded had the composer(s) been able to record a real orchestra. The final version of this song will be part of an album that I'm not ready to unveil just yet. I'm mainly looking for feedback concerning realism, mixing, EQ, etc., but feedback regarding arrangement is welcome, too. Thank you! 5. I really like it! So much so that I downloaded it. A different take on a much-remixed theme.
  6. Definitely an excellent arrangement! Even better than Zelda Reorchestrated's take on the theme. Saying that, I wouldn't submit it. It's essentially a cover. An extremely good cover, but still a cover. Your "Melodies of Mabe Village" is more like the kind of arrangement that would fit the OCReMix submission guidelines.
  7. I agree: arrangement and instrumentation are excellent! A mechanical sound can usually be fixed by humanization (varying velocity and timing very very slightly). Some DAWs (like Reaper) have the ability to do this for you, but if yours doesn't you'll have to do it manually. The only way I can see to improve this is to use better samples, but it's fine the way it is now. Arrangement and instrumentation can trump samples. Definitely put this up for mod review.
  8. Thanks for the suggestions, avaris! I've made the changes and here's the link: https://soundcloud.com/willpisani/metroid-prime-3-corruption-1
  9. I've done what I can with the volume levels. I added more reverb to the choir and the weird distortion noise is gone. If there aren't any glaring problems, I'm going to release this version tonight on the MREO website. Final Version: https://soundcloud.com/willpisani/metroid-prime-3-corruption
  10. I'm surprised no one has commented yet. This is great stuff! The only arrangement comment I have is that that trombone blast (kinda sounds like a Reaper from the Mass Effect trilogy) was a little weird at first, but I think it fits the piece. Keep up the excellent work! I'm looking forward to the mixed piece.
  11. Regarding the media explorer, how do I change which channel/VST is used to preview midi files? When I played around with the media explorer in one of my projects, it chose my 13th track's VST to play the midi files. I love this thread, Argle! Everything you have discussed has been extremely useful. Thank you!
  12. Thanks for the feedback, timaeus222! I smoothed out the male choir. It sounds much better, but now there's a clipping noise when the male choir changes notes at 0:23-0:25. Any idea how I get rid of that? I've made some adjustments to the double bass and changed out the alto flute in favor of orchestral chimes. 13. Hey there! Below you will find an orchestral arrangement of the title theme from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The final version of this arrangement will be posted on the Metroid Reorchestrated website. I'm mainly looking for feedback concerning mixing, EQ, etc., but feedback regarding arrangement is welcome, too. Thank you! 14. I dearly love Chrono Trigger so whenever I see a Chrono Trigger remix on this forum, I absolutely must check it out. And you didn't disappoint! This is quite excellent! My only suggestion is recording live guitar and violin.
  15. This remix is an insta-download! Now I have another new (to me) excellent song to play on my radio show tonight. Keep up the great work, Timaeus222 and Chimpazilla!
  16. I've been using Reaper for two years now and I would love to learn tips and tricks. As for topics, if you have EWQLSO or EWQLSC, channel routing information as well as general tips and tricks would be amazing. Another topic is what are your favorite customizations?
  17. Sounds fantastic! I've listened to most (if not all) of the Chrono Trigger remixes and yours is one of my favorites.
  18. I think the reverb/delay works. It really gives the impression of being "lost in time". The sax volume sounds perfect. Keep up the excellent work!
  19. Why aren't more people commenting on this thread? This is amazing work! I haven't made it through all of the tracks, but the ones I did listen to (up through 31. Our Promise) impressed me enough to purchase the album. Listening to the album makes me want to play the game. Any chance that development will resume?
  20. That sax sounds awesome! XPRTNovice did a great job. Definitely make it louder, though. In general, a sax solo should be a bit louder than everything else. This is a good example: .
