  1. I'll get it on Xbox lol. My computer's processor is usually just a tad too slow to run the newer games. Makes me depressed when I'm 0.5 ghz short. Still the graphics made me go 0.o
  2. Man, no one's interested in Tomb Raider? Where's the love for Lara!?
  3. Everytime I go into EBGames I see this sitting there Bikini Samurai Squad! Never played it, but you should try it and let me know how it is.
  4. Thanks Lidawg! I'll upload a new version soon
  5. Yeah piano is a little too loud. I've since lowered it but I'm too lazy to upload the update lol. I also thought the kick maybe too loud and/or have too much bass?
  6. So I was screwing around and I made a cover of this song from Streets Of Rage. With some good ol' synthy brass. I've never played the game but holy shit the soundtrack is great. I don't think I'll submit it or add any original parts beyond some bluesy guitar, but tell me what you think I should do to it!
  7. Didn't see a thread on this, which surprises me, but I thought the new Tomb Raider looks like it will be awesome. Discuss.
  8. All the time. It's the only way I can get my X-Men Vs Street Fighter fix. Especially since the ps1 version was complete shit. As for what version, I think it's MAME UI64. Running games is very easy, just make sure you have the parent file. For example, a lot of the capcom fighters, the Euro version is the parent file and all other versions are just drivers. So people will download the North American version and can't understand why it won't run. It's because they don't have the parent file as well. EDIT: And if you wanna run Neo-Geo stuff, you have to have the Neo-Geo bios.
  9. I'm not much of a master with mixing, though I like to think I'm improving at pretty fast rate. However, I've been writing and composing music for years and I know it's been said but honestly, the more you understand about music theory the better your songs will be. That is, assuming you actually use what you learn. A lot of people don't bother with music theory these days and I just don't understand why. It's actually pretty easy to learn, even the more advanced concepts.
  10. I have eq'd the bass and lowered the pick up now. Lowering the pick up also seems to have fixed issues with insane amounts of treble I had when soloing. Fixed the issue all around. Thanks you guys/girls!
  11. I'm callin' her finished. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dI2mhS-pB9E
  12. Well, I fixed it. The amp I have is a modelin' amp and by changing the amp model....strangely enough it solved the problem. My other tone also was pretty mid heavy. Even still though, cycling through all the different amp models and screwing around with the EQs etc, it seems that only the one amp model does this and only on those notes. Like Strader said, pick ups possibly? Either way, the rumble is gone now.
  13. Van Halen's debut, at least on a few songs had the rhythm panned left and a bit of reverb to it panned right but no double track. Annoyed the hell out of me.
  14. So yeah, I'm recording some metal and I have this issue. For some reason, whenever I palm mute on the A string around the 4th and 5th frets it throws out an insane thump. I don't really notice it when I'm just playing, but mixing it.......holy. I've tried recording with less bass and less gain. Playing with less attack etc. I'd been using an EQ to try to pinpoint the offending frequency and lower it. I found out that I could kinda fix it if I dropped this one part of the bass range by a huge amount. That didn't really work too well though because although the thump was less audible, it also really hurt the tone. I don't know why this is happening. It only is happening on that specific part of the guitar. I don't have this issue anywhere else on the fretboard and there does not appear to be anything wrong with the guitar itself. Even if I roll the bass off completely on the amp, it doesn't fix it.
  15. That's awesome. "Wither" I think Circus Maximus has a tune called wither. Great prog band. Nice guitar! I could be wrong but it sounds like the recording is clipping in spots?
  16. Sweet! I started a 007 metal cover about a year back too lol! Btw, you should actually post this in the "originals" section as the song you remixed was made for the films first. I like it, the arrangement is pretty cool. I like the somewhat chaotic rhythm of everything. That being said I do think there are some things holding this back from being all it could be. First thing I noticed, your rhythm guitar sounds quite weak for metal. I could be wrong but it doesn't sound like it's double tracked. It's also very quiet. There's a lot of volume issues, the lead guitar is really quiet. I think you have strings or choir in there, but it's very quiet and seems to be drowning in reverb. The drums do sound good but maybe just a splash more reverb on the snare? Oh well, like you say it's not perfect. No song ever is perfect though lol. Either way I still enjoyed it. You've inspired me to try finishing my 007!
  17. Street Fighter is always awesome. I too am more a musician and I'm absolute shit with mixing so I can't comment on the mix. I didn't find the guitar to sound "fake" but I'd use distortion from and amp or pedal rather than a plug-in. Plus it would definitely sound cooler if you played the harmony rather than pitch shift imo. The only other thing I can think of, the ending is somewhat of an anti-climax. Too mellow of an outro for my tastes I guess. Overall I liked it! Great work.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b4w08xusl8 Ooops, there's the source. Yeah I do prefer a wall of sound usually but I wanted to go a bit more retro so I used a different tone lol Thanks!
  19. So yeah I butchered one of my favorite metal songs. Yes, I know the mixing, tone, and pretty much everything else is apocalyptically awful but trust me. If I had the cash I'd pay some studio to record my stuff. Anyway, thanks for listening. Any feedback/tips good or bad is appreciated.
