Those were pretty neat. Are you working on any other projects? -
Mario Kart: Road Rage [Still Recruiting]
BrothaDom replied to pokemoneinstein's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
I'm not particularly talented in actually remixing, but I'm extremely willing to add spoken word type vocals, or like shouts and stuff. If anyone would like that kind of input, just PM me! -
Hey Everyone! The interest so far has made me really excited about the project so far! I've had a bit of interaction with some people, so it seems things are going decent. Updates: -I updated the track list, it's not much different, but there is a small change. (See above) -I wanted to let everyone know, the specific style of each instrumental doesn't really matter. If you want to go straight hip-hop or rap, that's fine. But, you can also infuse other genres if you like, such as possibly electronic, rock, or if you want, even country if you can pull it off. -Vocalists, would you prefer to write lyrics as well, or just sing? -Same question to the rappers. -If people would want to showing interest in specific songs, that would be nice as well. -To clear the idea up, the point of the album two fold: 1) Tell the story of the Death Egg Saga in a slightly more hip-hop themed style. Not exactly an exact replication of it, but similar themes. (Once again, see the work of Mega Ran and/or Duane and Brando and/or this track from the DKC2 remix album http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02006/) 2) Just do hip-hop arrangements of the stages, and add lyrics about anything really. Thanks again! I'm looking forward to all of this!

I think it's only from the end of it. I'm not sure either way though.

Haha, I almost thought that was going to be unrelated. Also, this: And for a different artist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKqVONrfffM I think it's cool, but I wish more people would openly enjoy the original sources too. Especially in the case of Schala's Theme...it's beautiful. Oh, and for the reverse, samples (which is based on a Malcolm X speech if I recall)

Hey everyone! It's good to see people are interested in the project! I'd really like to try to get some ideas rolling between everyone if you all still are. In the meantime, I've taken people's advice and looked around the community more (great stuff). Also, I'm going to put some more work into figuring out a more concise concept for the album. (Right now, it's just a more hip-hop inspired retelling of the story as it already is, with some artist liberties taken and gaps filled in) Thanks again for the support thus far!

Whoa! Slick Rick sampled that! That's pretty crazy, never would have even noticed that without that link. I really appreciate when someone has the talent to do that...even though it might be unfair to the original creator. But as far as the topic goes; I'm not sure why people dislike game beats, even though pop music recently is electronic. I think people claim to dislike electronic music, you know, "techno". However, add some lyrics and a popular musician to it, people love it. Then again, dubstep is popular, so there goes my theory.

It's really unfortunate how often this soundtrack has been remixed and arranged. It almost seems like people don't want to play with it anymore because of how often it's been reviewed. But I don't know if that's actually true. But, I would really like to hear some of the vocal tracks re-imagined, but there are probably some other projects going on that may encompass it
-
It's really rockin! I do have to agree, around 1:20, it does feel a bit cluttered. It doesn't really sound bad, just a lot going on with the rhythm guitar. But besides that, I really like it. It mostly stays true to the original, but the departures are really neat. Overall, I like it. But, I'm not an expert at this heh

It truly is a nice soundtrack. I don't know how or why I forgot all of the tracks. I remember the general feel, so it's nice to hear the songs again.
-
I loved the Ratchet and Clank series for its gameplay, but I sadly cannot remember any of its tunes..any suggestions?
-
I think you could do it! Also, are those the series with your favorite music?
-
Very nice voice...I'm not working on anything right now. As far as games go though, what games are you into?
-
I can't lie, I've been enjoying from Marvel vs. Capcom 3. It's really ridiculous, but I think it helps to fit the character. Plus, the guitar tracks is pretty fun to hear
-
Not a problem! I also really like the see-through thing you did with Zero's sword. Never would have thought to do that
-
I really like the shading you use. It seems really cool.

Super Mario Bros. Opera (catchy as fuck)
BrothaDom replied to LuketheXjesse's topic in General Discussion
That was pretty cool -
@Jordan, I've been looking around the site for a while, but only recently joined...so I'll lurk a bit more like you said and try to get more of a feel for the place Anyway, I figure the theme would be sort of like a Generations type thing, with more focus on the Genesis days, but dipping into the latter stuff. As for a theme, I guess I'm not 100% sure on that, I kind of figured it could be a retelling of the series with a focus on how the characters felt during the days when there wasn't too much dialogue, (for example, one of the tracks would focus on how Sonic would have reacted to having a rival like Knuckles) but I'll think on that a little more. And then of course just some general hip-hop in between. No deadlines just yet, I wanted to check on interest first. And I didn't plan to make an official OCR, just kind of an underground/for fun thing. But I definitely do know what you mean on there already being three Sonic remix albums, it just happens to be the series I'm most familiar with But thanks for the push in the right direction!

Collab Rapping Anyone? - Luxerion Type-R
BrothaDom replied to Rukunetsu's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
Sounds pretty smooth. Nice! -
Hi! I'm still really new here, but I was curious to see who might be interested in working on a collaboration album. Now, I know that there is already a ton of support for Sonic remixes and the like, but I feel like a hip-hop album might be a decent enough departure from the norm to still be fresh. Plus, I'd really like to work on my rapping and vocal abilities. This is my working tracklist (which is open to editing and suggestions, of course), (took the titles away, because that may have been turning some people away. If you have/had an idea for song titles, let me know so I can restore them) brackets are tracks contributed/claimed: 1] Title Screen / Green Hill Zone [intro] 2] Spring Yard {Track by DCT} 3] Labyrinth Zone {Angry Ancestor to Rap} 4] Chemical Plant {Track by halc} {DiGi Valentine to Rap} 5] Stardust Speedway (JP Bad Future) {Track by Brotha Dom} 6] Quartz Quadrant {Mysterious1ne to Rap} 7] Mystic Cave {Track by Tuberz McGee} 8] Metropolis Zone {HoboKa} Added] Sky Chase {Track by Blue Magic} Sample Here 9] Death Egg Robo {Track by Blue Magic} 10] Knuckles’ Theme {Track by Sir Jordanius} Sample Here Added] Hydrocity Zone Act 2 {DiGi Valentine to Rap} 11] Carnival Night {G-Mixer} 12] Ice Cap [Obligatory Ice Cap Zone Remix] {Track by The Joker} Sample Here {"Act 2" by DCT} 13] Launch Base Zone {King Tiger} Mushroom Hill / Flying Battery 14] Lava Reef {Track by Wina A. Kamlongera} 15] Hidden Palace {Interlude?} {} 16] Final Boss / Doomsday {Mysterious1ne to Rap} Added] Volcano Valley {Track by DarkeSword} Sample Here 17] Station Square {Track by Sir Jordanius} Sample Here 18] Green Forest {Amphibious} 19] Casino Park / BINGO Highway {Sir Jordanius) 20] Crisis City 21] Eggmanland (Good Future Remix?) 22] Aquarium Park [Outro] {Track and Lyrics by Tuberz McGee and TGH} Bonus Tracks: Midnight Greenhouse {Possible later?} Meteor Herd Vocalists: Orangedragan Rappers: BrothaDom, DiGi Valentine, Zerothemaster Guitars: Tuberz McGee Lyrics: Tuberz McGee, Sir Jordanius So basically, I'm looking mostly for people to remix the tunes themselves, but also other vocalists for the songs. The inspiration for this album came from the MegaRan albums and songs by Duane and BrandO, and I thought that we could do something similar but with a different feel. So, the subject matter for each song could range from blatantly talking about Sonic games, to subtle allusions to them, to something completely different. Thanks!

The Newbie Introduction Thread: Come on in and say hello!
BrothaDom replied to Mahaboo's topic in General Discussion
Hi everyone! I'm Brotha Dom...or just Dom. (Decided to use a nickname from high school) Anyway, I'm into working with FL, but I'm not really great at remixing. Also, I like to rap, so hopefully I can get some practice working with people here! As far as favorite game soundtracks, I'd say I enjoy Sonic, Megaman, Pulseman, DKC2, and Kirby. However, I'm welcome to suggestion.
