  1. Towards the end, the constant wubbing seemed to choke the ukulele and I think it might sound better if you give the ukulele some room to breathe. I also found tthe ending abrupt. I'll admit it's a unique concept.
  2. I think this theme is more suited to a mysterious forest with a lone resident. The tension needed for a background song in the scene you were given was there, but I didn't really feel the umbrella you spoke of. It's your take though.
  3. I agree on it sounding like one song of various sources instead of just being various sources if that makes sense. Good job.
  4. Man, your stuff always makes me feel like I haven't accomplished anything for some reason. Nice choice of sounds; I think the outro is a bit abrupt though.
  5. It's a solid piece, but I heard as more of an opening theme than a title screen theme. I don't really know what else to say as your mixing seemed fine to my novice ears and no instruments really stood out in a bad way. I've heard a handful of good pieces from you now, so I think I'll subscribe.
  6. Agree about the mixing and closeness to original. I personally found the clicky percussion sound strange. You're probably trying to do something different in terms of percussion, but I just was not a fan of that sound (and it's a source of that boominess that was mentioned). An acoustic remix of this song is a cool concept (the melody really works on acoustic guitars), and I think it could be pulled off with some more work.
  7. I was once having brief lessons about audio production from a professional engineer (guy who produced Carnifex's debut) at a rock and roll summer camp. One thing he emphasized about vocals was that you could get just as much if not more mileage out of delays compared to reverb. I say this because he also said its easy for novice vocalists to overdo reverb.
  8. I have no advice to give on the bass, but I will say that the piano part a bit after 2:00 sounds awkward. Maybe it's the tone, but it felt out of place even though the rhythm was fine. The percussion was solid aside from the issues the guy below me mentioned.
  9. 1st: not my style but I thought the percussion fit well. 2nd: Its minimal, but not bad. I like the flute tone.
  10. Very nice piece. As far as atmosphere goes, I think you had it until 0:47. The dramatic strings hurt the sort of peaceful vibe that I associate with underwater themes. If it wasn't a themed track, I wouldn't call it out, but I believe atmosphere is important when trying to create the feel of an area using sound. I like the filtering I heard at the sort; I think it helps create the rippling look of an underwater environment
  11. I liked the piece, although slightly better samples would make it better. I liked how percussion played a minimal role until the climax; it helped the song sound more orchestral. I don't hear about this tune getting many remixes, but I think it deserves more.
  12. I believe there was definitely more you could do with the drums. The section from 0:53-1:18 could especially use some more drums (or at least louder ones) and maybe you could create a more prominent bass part in that section as well (although you might've wanted the focus to be on the lead). It's decent and I would review it again if you finished it.
  13. Remix forum? I liked your arrangement of this piece. The rim clicks are awkward at first but are fine when the rest of the drum kit comes in. I liked the first section and the last one was interesting. The upbeat section felt like it was only a transition. Liked the first picture in your video as well.
  14. Nice piano piece, but shouldn't this be in the remix forum?
  15. Good "island at sunset" atmosphere. The piano part starting at 2:00 felt empty, as if there's some space that is demanding to be filled. I like the synths that come in during the last 30 seconds. Solid tune.
  16. Nice tune, I think my favorite part was the piano. I like how it darkens when the atmosphere gets more twisted after 2:00. How long have you been making music?
  17. No problem at all; I like giving feedback on originals because it seems like nobody gives the music in this part of the forums the chance it deserves (or at least feedback isn't given).
  18. Your videos are awesome. If you want to advise a sucky player, how should I Unicode a folder? I've looked through a bunch of guides and forums but I've only found folders focusing on duels or super-rare chips. How should I make a folder for doing post-game stuff (collecting hard chips, bass, etc)?
  19. It's worth the time. Plus there's plenty of worthy remix material
  20. I think this is a cool and unique take on a heavily remixed source. My only gripe is that the lead melody was buried when it came in, but overall very nice. You kept it relevant to the source material while adding a hip-hop-like vibe that worked (at least for my ears).
  21. I'm not a huge listener of looping-based recordings like this, but I thought you did a pretty good job of keeping each addition relevant to the song. I'm not sure what mood you were going for, but I hear it as a kind of upbeat tune meant for walking down the street.
  22. Not my type of music, but I like it. It could work for a game or for the stage. I like the melody; it's easy to picture it being used in an 8-bit action game.
  23. 1:00: wood block seems awkward at first, but it gradually fits in 1:15: Nice change, like the synth melody 1:59: nice wood block usage. like the chippy synth 6:05: like the panned slicing Overall, very nice song; I didn't find any major errors and you had multiple sections with different tones, but they managed to fit together nicely. I gave it a like and I think this deserves more comments than mine.
  24. The fadeout was a bit abrupt after the drum fill at the end, but the song was decent as a whole. I liked the relaxed tone and I felt the second synth helped to achieve that while the first synth created the "battle" atmosphere. I think the whole laid-back battle theme idea is cool.
  25. $7 for a used copy of Megaman Battle Network 3 (in great condition)
