I'm really impressed! I've heard a handful of VHD's songs but none that were quite so percussive in nature. Really beautiful attention to detail and engaging orchestration, as usual.

There's a few good episodes of Icons from G4 that cover stuff like that. Particularly the Nobuo Uematsu or Final Fantasy episode. Covers how the technology changed with each game and gave more opportunities to use more and higher quality sounds. http://g4tv.com/icons/videos/index.html

For some reason I didn't get notified this thread was updated. I didn't mean that I wouldn't try to make passable black metal. In an ideal world, every track would be passable. But it's black metal. It's still a sort of hazy area I think. Halc/chthonic/willrock would almost be a sure bet for being passable. I didn't mean that I would skimp out on making the black metal awesome. That seems to be the impression people keep getting when I talked about this project, but let me just clarify it once and for all, I have NO intentions of sliding by on someone else's work. xD Secondly, What's up with TEEN AGENT? I thought it was supposed to come out next. There was a third thing I wanted to ask but I forgot.

Speaking of my to-do list, I've finished like 10 songs and have 10 left to do, for projects, not including new claims I was too lazy (or memory hazy) to add. BUT this isn't my personal BLOG THREAD DAMN IT, the real kicker about the todo list is that FUNKY'S JOINT (the Hangin' at Funky's) remix is now my #1 item. So it'll be the next remix I make. I've listed 3 songs as being completed today though which means I've got to restring 2 guitars, record acoustic and heavy for MMX, and lead for FF1 before diving into Funky's Joint. Also going to record for my solo album! Hehe! Exciting times for ME. Sadly restringing and tuning is like a 2 hour job between the acoustic and 7-string floating trem... I am about to go to bed (its 9:40am and you should be able to tell I am quite loopy writing this) Hopefully I can wake up earlier enough to record before my parents get home from work........... doubtful!

I'm sorry, I really should have asked first.. It being your project and all, you might have a certain way you want the names to be. I was painfully trying to sleep and it just popped into my head and I laughed out loud. I was like, that's perfect. Especially since the keyboard elements in the song are primarily mellotrons.

Yeah, that was the half-serious question. Have the 3 tailor-made OCR style songs by halc, chthonic, and willrock... Then the black metal ones of the rest of the EP that would be good, but wouldn't be like 'that'! I'm not serious about doing that, I just thought it'd be silly to ask and perhaps find out how they would actually handle that situation.

I've got a funny question so don't take this too seriously, but would you guys get pissed off if the 3 out of 9 tracks for Demon's Crest black metal EP to pass were done by halc, chthonic, and willrock? And the other 6 songs were kvlt black metal? hahah

There's probably a soundfont out there somewhere, or someone is making one. They can be pretty tough to find. You might try finding just a basic SNES soundfont and see how similar the sounds are to what you're looking for. I don't have SNES or Metroid Prime but there's a lot of specific game / system soundfonts out there.

I got Sting Chameleon arranged with everything except guitars and bass recorded, but I sadly won't be able to record for a few days, so I'm going to work on some other stuff... but I came up with the most awesomest name for the song.. it is String Chamellotron

I took your absence as an excuse to work on other songs. Hey, I'm being honest! I'll probably start on New Moon in a week or two and uhh.. I do have a to-do list now.. so you can see that here..
