fireworks are banned here, which i find interesting cuz like, there's nothing to burn and it rains all the damn time anyways. in new mexico if you drop two rocks on top of each other there's like a 50% chance they'll spark and burn 50,000 acres, but you can still buy fireworks! but on the other hand, houston has these things they call bars, and in them are lots of drunk girls, which is pretty cool too.

I just moved, and I didn't take a mouse or keyboard with me, instead deciding I should get new ones when I get there. So I did. Big mistake, apparently. My old keyboard was PS/2, and this new one is USB. Windows is completely unresponsive to this keyboard, I'm assuming because it doesn't have drivers for it. But I can't install drivers, because without a keyboard, I can't type in my password to log in. Whoever came up with this idea at MS should be hanged. I know the keyboard works because I can use it to navigate BIOS, and even press F8 to boot in Safe Mode. But as soon as the Windows logo pops up, the lights on the keyboard go out and it stops working. I seem to recall having this problem once before at a LAN party, but I worked around it by using a USB to PS/2 adapter. However, this keyboard doesn't have one. The Gist: Windows has no drivers for keyboard Can't login to windows to install drivers for keyboard without a keyboard with which to log in Anyone know what I can do to fix this problem? Thanks in advance! Oh, and the OS is Windows XP SP2.

I'm not quite grasping the problem here. What do you mean does not follow? Is the timing completely different (ie: one is faster than the other) or is it simply offset? 99.9% of the time it's just going to be offset and you can align it by hand. If the timing itself is different, assuming you're actually timing properly, then your shit is hosed.

You know what would be nice? If those achievement points could be used to somehow level up faster. Y'know, maybe if you've got a certain number of achievements, you can start your alts at a higher level, or they get more XP, or something.

So, my band officially broke up recently, and not having gigs or practice anymore, I'm getting bored out of my mind. So I want to get back into gigging. I'm hoping to put together a small collection of easily portable (ie: can be taken on an airplane) inexpensive electronic type stuff. Old ass drum machines, synth modules, the like. Doesn't have to be fancy high tech shit. Just something that can get the job done. Also, I'd like to avoid laptops or any kind of computer if at all possible. Any suggestions on where to start? I've been thinking of starting with LSDJ, and Korg's DS-10 if and when it becomes available, but that would just be the starting point. I'm also interested in things like Yamaha's QY series, but damn they're expensive. Basically the idea here is to be able to gig on the cheap, and fly anywhere and take all my gear with me.

I quit playing because I literally carried my groups every time I ran instances, and my guildmates were always bitching at me to raid with them. Most of the time I'd blow them off, but sometimes I'd oblige, and even more rarely I'd actually get some loot and then they'd give me a ridiculous guilt trip and say things like "SEE NOW YOU'RE GETTING GEARED ENOUGH TO HELP US OUT MORE!" when really, all i want to do is make engineering shit (really disappointed with engineering in TBC btw), kill the shit out of people in PvP, and occassionally go raid alliance towns and make life living hell for lowbies. I started playing again recently, but I've mostly just been leveling alts because every time I log on my mains they bitch at me to do zul'aman or some other shit I honestly couldn't care less about.

iirc, the standalone version of sfz requires ASIO. so if you don't have ASIO, it's not going to work.

Doom 1 and 2 use a number of these stock sound effects too. Like the doors opening, and the imps screaming, and the zombie guys dying. I wish I had .wav examples to show you, but they've all been used in hundreds of movies, TV shows, and commercials as well as countless other games.
