  1. Yeah, one or two instruments, anyway. I've put you down as performer/collaborator for all the instruments you have listed on your profile - including vocals. You can always refer any requests to someone else if you don't have time or feel capable. I've also put you down for audio support. Let me know if you want me to change anything. I've also put @classic_gamer_76 down as a performer/collaborator for synthesizer, since he's now involved in three different collaborations. It's been great working with him on Corneria so far!
  2. Hey there, Pichu's Dad! Thanks for the offer and welcome aboard! To be clear, you are offering performance on vocals and assistance on audio support, yes?
  3. I have upgraded DS394's track to Orange Status, as it is a complete (not finished) track; however, the track still needs a name, @DS394! And thanks again to 'The Flash' @Starphoenix for claiming Macbeth from SF SNES! That makes 20 claimed tracks - 10 for each album! Now we are just FOUR TRACKS AWAY from reaching our first goal of 24 tracks! ___ If anyone is looking for suggestions, here are a few tracks that I would really like to see claimed for the album that haven't been yet: Asteroid Belt / Meteo (SF64) The Awesome Black Hole (w/map select - SF SNES) Sector Y (SF SNES) Out of This Dimension (SF SNES) Andross... (any/all games) That being said, all unclaimed tracks are still open. Let us know if you want in!
  4. Slimy's claim on 'various Star Fox themes' will probably have some of the same melodies, but his focus is on ending themes; I have no claims for medleys that spread to the Menu Theme or Stage Clear theme specifically. I say go for it. I'm a big fan of creativity, so mix it up and see what happens! I'll put you down for the Stage Clear. This is also OK! Bolse is now yours. Claimed! ---- I would also like to announce that @JulienMulard has claimed Aquas! He's be moving in an electro-metal direction with his track and will be trying to combine both the SF64 theme with the SF Command theme. Can't wait to hear his first WIP! Welcome aboard, Julien! ---- I'm loving all this activity. We have quite a few WIPs as well and there is some awesome music being created for this project. We have TWO TRACKS LEFT to be claimed for the first disc to reach the first goal...! Thanks to everyone for their help in bringing @Thomas Neil's idea to light. This is going to be great! There are still lots of tracks left to claim - let us know if you want in!
  5. Glad I could help out. I don't have anything worth posting at the moment, but keep an eye on this forum. I'll post something up there eventually.
  6. Curious approach. The key of your intro makes me think that this is a pretty happy Death Egg. LOL I like the synth-tones and what you have for the verse, but the beats seem pretty shallow to me. I'm not very experienced with a trap beat, so this may be sound design, but the clap in the intro bugs me. I'm interested to see where you take this.
  7. Love the sound of acoustic guitar on orchestra strings and piano - so mournful. The choral in the background is a nice touch too. Also a big fan of the violin solo and that vocalist you have is very good; very pretty harmonies. This is a beautiful track. I could listen to this for hours.
  8. As I tend to say, I am by no means an expert and do not profess to be a master mixer, so thank YOU both for teaching ME something. LOL
  9. The bass is better, but every time that kick or tom hits, I'm still hearing it push the rest of the soundscape out of the way for a moment. It also interferes with some of the glitch effecting you have later on. You may want take another look at the EQ on the drums. I do like the new softer orchestral bit at 1:38. Nice touch.
  10. This is a really cool sound you have for this. I like the intro a lot; with the effects on the chiptune mixed with that background synth, and boom kick, it's sounds almost ... like you're standing somewhere gross. Like Torvus or Brinstar. That being said, those lead synths that start at 0:33 were driving me crazy throughout the piece - it's too sharp a sound to match that cool ambience you capture in the very beginning, IMO. The beats that start at 1:22 make things more interesting and the synth-work is great, but I still don't like the synth-tones. VERY cool what you did at 2:10 to 2:36 - love this bit. I find the piece overall gets a little repetitive, which given the nature of the source, isn't in itself a bad thing; however, I'd suggest spicing up that ending (3:47 to 4:20) a bit more if you plan to keep it at this length. I like this approach, cool ambience. Good work, can't wait to hear the next version!
  11. Wow, I second that. "Wait ... I ponder, how good do I look?" Best Kefka line ever.
  12. A new remixer called Prominion has claimed Fortuna from SF SNES. He's not yet a part of the forum, but he'll probably join us soon. Welcome aboard, Prominion! --- We are now up to 14 claimed tracks: 9 for disc 1, 5 for disc 2. Three tracks left for disc 1 before we have a full disc of claims! EDIT: I would've put this up yesterday, but I was having trouble getting it working. Here is a new signature banner for folks to use if they are interested. The link to this thread is already embedded - just copy and past into your signature and away you go!
  13. Now available on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JF4CHWK/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl1&tag=oregontrailcardgamevid-20&linkId=d6c8bbc411b400a121f8bab965adc500 Love the box cover...
  14. Okay, I'll put your claim down to just 'Records 1.' Is the track name now just 'Cornerian Hall of Fame?' I'll keep @classic_gamer_76 down for collaboration until I hear otherwise.
  15. I have heard the Super Mario Bros. Underground theme on our public radio up here (the CBC) but for the life of me I can't remember the date and time I heard it. All I remember is how surreal it was hearing it between segments of some show on nature.
  16. Consider it yours. I have also put you down as a violin performer. Welcome aboard, Trev! As a fan of his music, I'm happy to announce that @bLiNd has submitted a track for the Venom Orbital/Base boss, Phantron! Very glad to have him aboard too. Slimy has expanded his first claim to include the Venom Base from Star Fox SNES and he has also submitted a track for all the main Star Fox themes. Sounds great so far! Also, just a quick note to anyone looking to claim: I have attached a copy of our project overview to the top of the thread, so folks can see where we are in the project and what tracks are already claimed. I have also attached the source tracks from each game to this spreadsheet (well, most of them as of when this post went up) so you can listen to everything and see if there is anything you're interested in claiming too. I hope to see more claims soon!
  17. VERY interesting stuff going on here. I can hear the story being told behind the music and the various movements capture the flow from scene to scene quite well, IMO. Big fan of the bit at 5:15, very cool sound and progression you captured here. A couple of general points: The whole piece is in need of mixing - compression would be a good place to start. It seems a bit top-heavy and there are a lot of peaks in this track. The lead synth tones seem 'blunt' instead of 'crisp' and tend to drown out a lot of the other sound where the play is heavy. Check EQ and volumes of each synth tone in comparison to each other. I agree with CGrail that the drums sound sequenced. It's not in the timing or intricacy of what's played (I would definitely say you are good at drum sequencing), it's the fact that you can hear the copy/paste duplication, the slight cut-offs when you use the same effect twice in a row, and some of the drum samples don't sound 'real.' The best way to fix overall is to get a drummer to record the track for you, but there are 'humanization' functions within most DAWs that can help with the copy/paste feel. Also, the drums don't have much depth to them - that kick has lots of punch, but very little boominess to it. I only hear the bass sometimes. Mixing and/or proper EQ will probably help this. I'm hearing a bit of clipping in the heavy parts (example @ about 6:23-6:25). Maybe too much kick, maybe too much cymbal, maybe too much guitar distortion, maybe it's my headphones. Either way, I'd check to see if there's a way you can compress the peaks a bit. Effective piece, though. I rather like this. I'll be keeping an ear out for the next version, if there will be one. I think this is a great concept for the ending, but I don't hear it on the track, just some aliens departing. Need something in the ending to capture this thought. I can vouch that 'Mr. Modesty' here is everything that @mattmatrice makes him out to be - a great musician AND collaborator. Great work to you both!
  18. A hybrid desktop/portable console, eh? Interesting use of hardware. It's neat, it's versatile, it's a got a slick design, and it's a new gaming experience - but to me a console is a console is a console ... it's the gameplay itself that makes the real difference. I've been kind of disappointed with Nintendo lately and I won't pay for a new console if all I'm doing is increasing the number of ways I can play one game. That being said, they're probably on to something from a marketing perspective - I can see how someone (who is not me) could find value in paying for one desktop console, yet also get a portable system with so many ways of using it, including multi-player. It does seem a logical next step for Nintendo and its technology. I don't know, I'm on the fence with this one. One thing I will add: The Damned made mention of 'Nintendonium.' I've dropped my SNES and GameCube so many times over the years and never even dented the cases, so I can vouch for that, but I think the structure is everything; I only hope that tablet portion is as durable as you suggest. I also hope Nintendo keeps a crapload of those detachable controller pieces in storage, cuz I can see a lot of folks losing those. Also, the trailer was filmed in Vancouver - I recognize all the streets. In fact, I think the FLYNN'S sign was hanging off the building in the second shot for TRON: Legacy.
  19. I'll have a look around for you as well to see if I can find anyone willing to help out.
  20. This is awesome, totally dig the sound on this. A couple of things: I can really tell the difference between the live recordings and the sequenced parts of the track. This would sound AWESOME if you could get some performers to do a full live recording for this. The drums sound pretty static and it sounds like you're using the same 2 crash cymbals and high hat throughout the piece - you might want to vary it up a bit to keep things a bit more interesting. The bass seems a bit light, but that's likely personal preference. Really glad to hear the electric come in at 1:15 - I was wondering where that was. The ending kind of jumps out at you and seems really out of place. I think some sort of transition is needed to bring the listener to that sweet blues wind-up that we all know and love. I really like that laid-back sound you have captured for this. I keep wanting to say 'make it dirtier,' but I really like the approach. Definitely enjoyed the video too. Great work! so far!
  21. Very cool. It's nice to hear someone embrace the concept of the Earthbound OST is all its glorious weirdness.
  22. BIG GIANT CIRCLES I totally get a vision of Minecraft-like 8-bit pirates when I hear this. ARR!
