  1. This is pretty much note for note with the original. with lots of effects and percussion. I'd work sound quality and variation on the theme. Cool percussion though. NO
  2. This is pretty interesting, unfortunately, it has some large sound quality issues. The instruments are painful. Work on sound quality and perhaps update your samples. NO
  3. Just keeps repeating. There is some definite quality issues. I don't understand why anyone would choose to cut a song off at 22khz. There is a lot of constant flanging going on. Its very apparent on good headphones. Just repeats. At this quality, it can't pass. Resubmit at 44khz and try to vary the song some more. NO
  4. Yes, the original is quite impressive. Unfortunately, this is about 5:24 of repeating melody with a bit of variation. Definately nothing new going on since the original. With an original of such high caliber, I would think something rather impressive should take place here. Yea, it just keeps repeating. and repeating. NO
  5. Uh... Slap bass is kinda.... Cool groove. repeating.... Flute solo is ok. Way too short. This song's bitrate is 160-256 vb. That is far beyond the cieling of 192 that we set way back. I have to say no to this song based on its shortness. Please make it longer. Also, in order to be accepted, we need a <=192kbps version. EDIT: Got hte updated version, still no NO
  6. Cons: The intro sounds pretty poor. The use of effects dont work very well here. Theres some messy sections at 1:10 and 1:45. This song repeats a LOT. The drums are kind of lax. The effects could have been used with more discression. Instrument choice could have been better. Weak ending. Pros: I really like the arranging. Its moving. Better use of drums could have occured. This mix is basically one step below acceptable. Work on sound quality, percussion, and use of effects. NO
  7. Hmm, thats the original with drums over it for the first minute. I dont even think the instruments were changed. No, they weren't. 1:30 mark and its still the original with drums over it. Hmm, guitar. Sounds real. Ok, this song is note for note with the original. NO
  8. This song is very simplistic. The beat never changes. The melody is basically the same as the original. Major repeating. No ending. Please work on arrangement and reexpression of the original rather than just playing it out with a dance beat. NO
  9. nice mix, Unfortunately, Suzu had 2 fall throughs already. The agreement amongst the judges in discussion was that no more than 2 fall throughs would be allowed per mixer. Otherwise, this 'feature' of ocremix could be exploited by those wanting to 'cut in line' so to speak. Heres one http://remix.overclocked.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8826&highlight=ultima Heres another http://remix.overclocked.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16008 As we are getting to the queue quite heavily as the summer starts, it shouldn't be too long until this song is reviewed. Until next time: NO
  10. I like the starting beat. The sequencing is good, but there are moments of weakly organized parts, namely the hits at 15, and some parts in the middle. THis song is far too short, and the ending is weak. Please resubmit longer, sounds pretty good! NO
  11. This song is rather moody. I've been looping it for about 20 minutes while yelling at david cause of his arrogant pompous behavior and shitty file servers, but anyway, Its soo moody. put me in a nice feel. Unfortunately, its so short and has a few bugz (the awkward bend at 1:20 for ex.) Please resubmit a far longer version with more variation on the main theme. NO
  12. Too close to the original. Repeats. Far too short at 1:36. Work on variation of the theme and length. NO
  13. A simple, short mix of the battle theme. The rock section is ok, but I have some problems with the chords chosen. This mix could have been far longer rather than just start-end. Work on length and notation. NO
  14. Pretty cool sound quality/drummage/movement we got here. Would have liked a better lead, but it got better later on. Its pretty repetitive now. The drums are mixed up enough and the song never loses its momentum. Cool. YES
  15. Just keeps building and building! So impressive. Wasnt expecting this. Decent lyrics. Guitar solo. Improv. Well played. What else could someone ask for? YES! once again for effect YES!
  16. It was pretty simplistic to start out, but I got into the beat, and the soloing. Good job there. The sound effects didnt mess everything up as happens sometimes. YES
  17. This song is far too short as it is. On top of that, the drums are out of sync with the drums at several sections. The drumming is rather harsh at some parts and far too repetitive (how about some fills?) NO
  18. Kinda quiet. Pretty cool. Moody. Piano is pretty good. This is actually rather well done considering the source material. Good way to convert to orch ;p. Could have been way longer YES UHHHHHHHHhh - looks like we have the same song as a fall though. Lets limit those fall-throughs a bit eh boys? *Disabled the actual submission as to eliminate confusion.
  19. File doesnt work off of djpretzel.homedns.org. can you check this out, dave?
  20. We cant accept 64kbps remixes without just cause and there is no justification here. Please resubmit with higher bitrate and better quality. PM or AIM me for more information on this. real nice! NO
  21. excellent arrangement! Please resubmit with improved drums (not just kick hat kick hat) and better lead than the out of sync guitars. PM or grab me on aim for a better description of what to fix. I would love to see this improved and resubmitted. NO
  22. Pretty close to the original and extremely short. Bitrate is above the cieling. NO
  23. Potential spc copy. I have no reason to think otherwise. NO
  24. A very nice professional style jazz funk mix played with poor samples and little mastering ability. Very well done! YES
