  1. Colosseum & XD are the best it's gonna get for grimdark pokemon, buddy.
  2. If "biggest fan" means "spent the most money" and assuming you own most of the games, then yeah, you got me beat. Also the scan is just showing updated artwork. No version exclusives are announced yet. I expect them to mirror the original's, however -- up until you go to Kanto, where they will undoubtedly add a few more for good measure.
  3. You are correct, sir. Honestly, in what little we have seen of the game, this already looks to be the most graphically advanced version of Pokemon to date. Wind ala The Wind Waker blows through the town, as a small weather vein creeks from side to side. Houses have believable stairways leading to second story spaces. Gold & Silver, by far, have added the most to the series. DPPt gave us a lot, too, but not nearly as much. In other words, even if all they do is update everything that was in the Crystal version and give everything a makeover, it's still going to be one of the most full-featured titles. Yes, many of these features are already in DPPt in some shape or form, but there is of course the undeniable aspect of NOSTALGIA to take into account. Finally, most original Gold/Silver/Crystal carts will no longer save. My own copy of Crystal is toast, while my Silver version holds on by a thread. These DS versions will no longer suffer from battery failure, so if nothing else, if you want to go back and experience a solid game in a few more years, you're only going to have two options: find a replacement GB cart battery, or buy Heart Gold & Soul Silver. Heh... And as for Damned claiming to be the "biggest fan" around these parts... I'd challenge him to a test of pokenerd-dom any day :B
  4. I've said it before, I'll say it again: fuck yes.
  5. And maybe one day it'll be worth it to me... but right now, Foobar is great. Yes, but not everyone cares about having their music playing application of choice integrated into their flickr or facebook or whatever the hell else you might use this for. I want a sleek program that plays music and helps me keep it organized, and nothing more. All that extra crap just bogs it down. I will say that I like the way Songbird allows you to effortlessly edit your ID3 tags, though. It's a bit more convoluted in Foobar. You have to keep in mind that Foobar is for advanced users only. Your kid sister won't like to use it because it is quite literally daunting to some people. Plus it's not pretty out of the box; you have to skin it to make it look nicer. Speaking of skins... check out a few! one two three four five
  6. I used Songbird for quite a while, but I found it severely inferior to even iTunes. Without any plugins, the UI is limited, but if you add in a lot of plugins it starts to bog down. My biggest gripe? Songbird will not keep track of the file paths of your songs! That's a pretty big deal for someone who has backups or external drives with duplicate files. Add in the myriad of technical glitches and bugs, and I had to drop it. All in all, Songbird just feels like an open source iTunes Light version. You know what I switched to? Foobar2000. All the functionality and so, so much more. Fully customizable UI/skins, comprehensive library with multitudes of sorting options, MINIMAL SYSTEM RESOURCES, the list goes on. Foobar!
  7. It's said in Wind Waker itself (probably several times) that the Link you're playing as is NOT the Hero of Time (a descendant of Link's). He is the Hero of Winds, a new lineage. TP & WW can't be happening at the same time, since Aonuma himself said that WW took place thousands of years after OoT while TP only took hundreds. Though yes, they exist side-by-side in separate worlds. Also, if you place more importance on the creation/corruption of the Dark World than Ganon being dead (sounds good to me), then I can see how LttP might come before LoZ. I'm not 100% convinced yet, though.
  8. You know... I NEVER thought of it like that. I mean it. Thanks for that. That actually makes a lot of sense. What doesn't make sense is how Ganon exists in two timelines at once, since he's the same guy in all the games, unlike Link & Zelda. I actually didn't have FS on my list at all, since I know nothing about it. But yes, I have seen it on many lists after Minnish Cap. As for LA after LttP... LA was hinted at being a continuation of the same Link's story. The game's page at wikipedia even flat out states this, though they don't reference the hint (and I can't remember exactly what it was, except that it had to do with LttP's ending). As for why I put LttP after AoL? Well, Ganon's officially dead at the end of LoZ. He's still dead in LttP. Makes sense.
  9. since you insist on inciting this topic NOPE sorry try again try this on for size boys The main bad guy in FSA is Ganon in his pig form, where he gets his trident. Since Ganondorf didn't become Ganon until after OoT, it comes some time after that game, but before LoZ (where you kill him, finally). Probably after Twilight Princess... In all the games after LoZ, Ganon is dead/being resurrected. LoZ & AoL are linked, as are LttP & LA. Something interesting: Ganon didn't show up in Phantom Hourglass, suggesting that his defeat in Wind Waker has removed him from that timeline. It's also possible that Ganon somehow traveled/was summoned into the Child Link dimension somehow after WW, though the exact timing of such an event is hard to place. Why? TP. Twilight Princess fucks everything up. One, Ganon acts like he's never seen the Master Sword or Link (stupid) and you impale him in the stomach (and yet he comes back). Ganon starts out as a spirit, and Zant helps to bring him back to life. Ganon coming back to life isn't a big deal, but his stupid comments cast doubt on any theory. Maybe getting killed and reborn had affected his mind... but that sounds kinda lame.
  10. ugh you guys made this thread didn't you is it that time of year again seriously?
  11. stop it f4t4l you're killing me
  12. I'm liking this, man. And I mean a lot. The ending is a smidge too abrupt, though. At 1:29, when the Aphex Twin bouncing ball thing comes back, it's kind of anti-climactic, since you have this beautiful, epic buildup and then it kind of stops for that sample, at which point the song picks up again. If you wanna incorperate the bouncing ball effect somewhere else in the mix (I like it, it just feels out of place), then I'd recommend having it in places that aren't otherwise "empty." Drop it from the first few seconds and bring it in at about 0'7" or so, or something. When it shows up later, have it kind of duel with that nice "airship" synth you got going. You know, pop in once or twice, but don't draw too much attention to it. I think the piano just gets overpowered by it, though. Maybe instead of having it play all the way through, just have 2 bounces. Play with it.
  13. So I ask you, since the only Asian language I can understand is Japanese: what language is Palpable singing in? It's neat-o~ Amazing stuff, guys. Amazing stuff.
  14. I agree, both tasks were ultimately very annoying. However, the temple was at least exciting/infuriating. The triforce hunt just felt... well, ho-hum. One of the few times anything in WW did, for that matter.
  15. So close, guys! Hopefilly djp will have his tracks done before the year's out.
  16. No more previews, guys. It's like Christmas when one of these babies drop.
  17. I haven't bought a DS game since Megaman ZX, but I'm totally going to buy the shit out of this This. This has the potential to be spectacular.
  18. ruh-roh If that's the final version, then I'd say it's a fairly solid track. That one verse where Taucer didn't quite synch up kinda bugs me... but otherwise
  19. Are you listening to something I'm not, because Hot Head Bop isn't in it. Though after hearing Nicole's most recent remix, I know she's gonna kill it, nah mean?
