  1. This is really vague. What instruments should you emphasize? It depends on the song. What should the structure be? It depends on the song. What instruments do you need? It depends on the song. You should listen to more music and try to emulate it what you hear; think about what role each instrument plays in the overall soundscape. Percussion, bass, mid-range, upper-range. That's how you achieve fullness of sound. There is no such thing as "orchestration tips" that will answer the questions you're asking.
  2. No, you're still wrong, because you said "after SIGN" it turned into a cash cow. SIGN is not the original media. The PS2 games are the original media. The entire pre-R2 storyline revolves around the PS2 series. SIGN is a prequel/tie-in promotional anime. The PS2 games are not adaptations. .hack was developed as a multimedia project from the get-go with the video game series at the very core. The novels, the manga, the anime series, those are all part of the project, but the focus is the original four PS2 games. Nothing is "branching out" or spun-off. All of the non-video-game stuff was designed from the very beginning to enrich the .hack world.
  3. Then say that they didn't interest you. Don't throw around terms like "cash cow" if you're not going to use them right.
  4. That's a load of crap. .hack//SIGN was created as a lead-in story to the PS2 games. The story of Kite and Black Rose is the main story of .hack. Why do you think SIGN ends in such a vague way?
  5. The lore of .hack is incredibly interesting. There was some really weird sentient A.I. stuff going on in The World, and the crossover to the off-line stuff was great, especially in .hack//sign. I haven't played any of the games, but I've read some of the novels (AIBuster, Another Birth), seen SIGN and Legend of Twilight's Bracelet (and read the LoTB manga, which is considered the canon version of the story) and read a little bit of the ROOTS manga. There's been talk of actually making a real .hack MMO based on The World. I imagine they'd incorporate some creepy ARG stuff into it, which would be pretty cool.
  6. AHAHHA Dyne I'm glad you enjoy it. It really is something you need to watch to understand how great it is. It's hard to explain it to someone; they just write it off as "lol power rangerz," when it's really something a little different and a lot better.
  7. K-On's got an actual continuing storyline though, unlike your typical Slice-of-Azulucky-DaiStarOh-Life. The whole "we're trying to make this music club successful" focuses the series a little more so you don't end up with a lengthy dissertation on how to eat a chocolate coronet. I like K-On a lot, especially the ending credits animation. Hot.
  8. This forum has always been for works -in-progress and -completed. I have posted completed works here for years without posting in-progress versions beforehand. And whether or not I intend to submit this to OCR isn't really important. What's important is that I've posted this up here as a release for everyone to listen to, so maybe you should just listen to the song and post what you think of it, rather than questioning the validity of the thread.
  9. This is a remix of Gauntlet, the Area-L music from Capcom's Mega Man ZX. Mega Man ZX - Dagger Vision [6.12MB] This mix is complete, and I have no plans to change anything or work on it anymore. Enjoy.
  10. Moved to ReQuests. Halo Wars has some hot tunes.
  11. Track down a copy of Drill Dozer for GBA.
  12. Hey Rozovian. Pretending to be a judge and "translating" your criticism isn't funny or clever. It's being a dick. Stop being a dick.
  13. Alas, poor Duke. I knew him, Horatio! A fellow of infinite...well, an infinite fellow.
  14. What the hell is this? You're trying to trick people into listening to your WIP? Don't abuse the boards like this. Do it again and you're banned.
  15. It's not going to give it any less attention either. It's still highlighted on the front page.
  16. Use the PM function if you want to contact a specific poster. Site Issues and Feedback is for OverClocked ReMix issues.
  17. No sir, you do not. A microphone will suffice.
  18. Need to start a Grammar Shame thread.
  19. Usually whenever a new episode comes out we watch it that day or the day after. TV-Nihon tries to get an episode out on Friday, so it's usually Friday night or Saturday. Add either me or Ashamee on Skype and we can contact you when a group-watch will happen. Anyway, CS-toys has Shinkenger merch available for import, DIRECT FROM THE JAPANS. I'm considering getting a Rekka Daizantou, but it's kind of expensive.
  20. REKKA DAIZANTOU!!!~ KAEN NO MAI~ Sinewav I'm glad you liked it. Make sure you watch more. It gets much, much better. Episode 11 was freaking epic: a three-way every-man-for-himself sword fight with ShinkenRed pulling a dual-wield sword style. This is getting out of control. D:
  21. Anybody go? I picked up Blackest Night #0, Atomic Robo, and CyberForce/Hunter-Killer.
  22. Oh man I watched it too. Freakin' awesome. Let's hold off on discussion until everyone watches.
  23. This is pretty rockin' stuff. RIGHT ON!!! (b¯^¯)>
  24. It's not "go to the store and pick out any comic book they have for free" day. There is a specific selection of specially produced titles from publishers like DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Image, Top Cow, Red 5, etc. I don't know off-hand if any of the big manga publishers are participating (Tokyopop, Viz, Del Rey) but FCBD is generally an American comics event.
