Since it's not being adapted from a manga, there likely won't be any filler. Anime shows only have filler if they need to space out adapted episodes. Plus given that Toei re-released DBZ in a re-cut, re-edited form (Dragon Ball Kai) to improve pacing issues, we know that they're aware of how bad Dragon Ball Z got. Dragon Ball Super will probably be a tighter show.

Good question! Today's song is Journey Through the Decade, by GACKT. It's the opening from Kamen Rider Decade, the Heisei anniversary series that saw the return of TONS of Kamen Riders. Gackt's performance in this is great, and I love the smooth soundscape over all those crunchy guitars underneath. SO GOOD!

I am SUPER EXCITED about this. I've always had a soft spot for the Dragon Ball series, especially DBZ. It's kind of one of the founding fathers of the shonen battle genre, and to see Toriyama involved in a true continuation of the series makes me so happy. I know people hate on DBZ a lot because of the pacing of the anime and the simple and straightforward escalation tropes in the storyline, but sometimes you just love what you love. I can't wait for this to come out.

We're probably not going to do that because there's value in having videos embeddable. Plus the video is still loading anyway, it's just hidden, which doesn't do anything to improve page load. Also, embedded YouTube videos don't tax the site's resources; any extra time that affects page load come from your local browser, not on OCR's servers. I don't mean to be dismissive, but Dave's already weighed in on the subject of YouTube embeds and his inclination to leave them as they are for the time being. We can revisit this topic again once we upgrade to IPS 4.x, but at this point in time I'm going to table this discussion. We're not planning on getting into installing a lot of extra plugins and custom BBcode with IPS 3.x (the current forum software version).

I prefer to have one long event with a start date and end date set. Doing two events for start and end is extra and not really the way a calendar application should be used.

vBulletin had multiquote. No. OCR v6 is a site-wide redesign. The forum software change facilitates that and puts us in a place where we can move towards eventually getting v6 out.

You can manually subscribe to a thread by clicking the "Follow this topic" button at the top of every thread. It will give you a notification option. If you go to the section that djpretzel linked, you can also set the forum to auto-subscribe you to any thread you reply to.

As a lot of you know I'm a big fan of tokusatsu shows like Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. One of the things I really love about these shows is the music. I'm gonna be posting a track from a toku show every couple of days that I really like so you guys can enjoy too. FIRST UP is the theme song from the currently running Kamen Rider show, Kamen Rider Drive This is SURPRISE-DRIVE by Mitsuru Matsuoka! It's a really awesome, uplifting song with some awesome guitar stuff going on. Lots of energy, great melody, just all around fantastic.

Yeah, I just want to add that I can't stress enough how big of a hurdle this was to jump. Getting the preliminaries of the forum migration out of the way is a huge step in improving OCR as a website.

Animated avatars aren't really supported, because Invision makes a 100x100px copy of your User Picture for usage around the forums, and only uses your actual uploaded file on your profile page.

Since we've got the forums all upgraded, I want to push for people to start using the forum's built-in calendar functions for organizing community events like game nights and stuff. http://ocremix.org/community/calendar/ You should be able to submit an event for TF2 nights. All you need is a moderator approval on the event, which I can do on a regular basis. Please decide on one person to submit the event. Wes should also be able to do it without the need for moderator approval.

There's a webcal link at the bottom that you should be able to use to subscribe to the calendar. Consult mail client documentation for information on how to get webcal feeds working.

Now that we've switched over to Invision for our forum software, we're going to start making more use of the tools it provides. One thing that I've always wanted to have for competitions was a calendar on the site where we can list relevant competition dates. Invision has a pretty great calendar application, so I've set one up. http://ocremix.org/community/calendar/2-competitions/ If you're a competition runner, you can now add your event dates (such as start and stop date/times for mixing and voting stages, due dates, etc.) to the calendar. Right now I have it set up so that any event submitted to the competitions calendar requires a moderator approval. I'll be checking my moderator control panel regularly for stuff to approve, but if you don't see your event pop up after about a day, contact me and I'll see what I can do. We might eventually put together a user group of the regular competition runners that can bypass moderation, but since this is new I want to keep an eye on things so that it doesn't get crazy. Keep in mind, this isn't an upgrade of one version of the software to a newer version of the same software. This is a migration from one forum software package to an entirely different software package. Some things are going to just work differently.

Somewhere down the line we could probably dump all the avatars from vB and put 'em up for download. Maybe.
